Manchester United have managed to pull off an incredible signing in the form of Sekou Kone.

The Malian international was officially unveiled today as a United player, with the deal for the midfielder valuing at £1 million.

The 18-year-old impressed a number of top tier scouts thanks to his performances at the Under-17s FIFA World Cup in Indonesia last year. Kone was reported as an anchor in the Mali Under-17s squad, helping the side to achieve a third place finish.

Whilst it was announced by the club that the defensive midfielder would be moving to the academy initially as he adjusts to life in England, it’s now been reported that he is seen as a first team player.

Samuel Luckhurst of Manchester Evening News has reported that Kone will initially train with Under-18s to get used to his move to the UK, but his first appearance for club is expected to be with the Under-21s, eventually transitioning into the first team squad.

This is extremely exciting news, highlighting the expectations United have on the 18-year-old. No doubt fans of The Red Devils are very keen to see the defensive midfielder in action to see the potential he has to offer.

  • Arsenal beat Manchester United to veteran Premier League winger

With the transfer window now officially closed, Manchester Untied have officially missed out on one of their transfer targets, with Arsenal swooping to take their man.

The Red Devils have done well this transfer season, having signed some truly impressive players in the form of Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui and Manuel Ugarte.

On top of these first team signings we’ve also seen youngsters Samuel Lusale, Sekou Kone and Chido Obi-Martin signed to bolster the youth ranks.

However, United have missed out a talented winger who came into the equation late in the game.

In an out of the blue announcement of interest, Chelsea began looking to Jadon Sancho as a key transfer target last weekend. As part of the initially reported deal, Ben Chilwell and Raheem Sterling were to be used as a duel player swap for Sancho.

However, United were understood to have begun separate conversations about Sterling thanks to Dan Ashworth’s appreciation of the winger. His admiration of Sterling dates back to when the pair worked at the England camp together between 2013 and 2019.

Unfortunately for Ashworth, United seem to have missed out on their last minute target, with the 29-year-old currently at Arsenal’s training ground ahead of a season-long loan.

Sterling has been told that he has no future at Chelsea under the new manager Enzo Maresca, so is set to see the rest of the season at the Emirates.

The move to Arsenal also marks a reunion with Mikel Arteta who was assistant manager at Manchester City during Sterling’s time with The Citizens.

The pair won two Premier League titles, an FA Cup and a Community Shield whilst working together under Pep Guardiola’s leadership, and no doubt, Arteta will be hoping for the same again in London this time.

  • Chelsea reach full agreement with Manchester United for Jadon Sancho

    Jadon Sancho

Over the last few days, the future of Jadon Sancho and where he’ll play for the rest of this season has been completely up in the air.

It’s been known for sometime that Manchester United have wanted to part ways with the winger. Sancho was exiled to Borussia Dortmund last January after a very public falling out with Eric ten Hag.

From that moment, it seemed obvious that Old Trafford would not be his home next season.

Throughout the summer, Sancho’s attracted interest from top tier clubs, with PSG being the front runners for some time.

However, the French champions ultimately pulled out, leaving the door open for Chelsea to enter the race and battle it out with Juventus.

Last night, reports came in the Juve were pulling out of their loan move for the winger. The decision comes after their academy graduate Samuel Mbangula has been delivering truly impressive  performances at the start of this season. The Old Lady don’t want to risk the signing of Sancho negatively affecting Mbangula.

This leaves Chelsea firmly in the driving seat, with Fabrizio Romano now confirming that the deal is done and Sancho is moving to Stamford Bridge.

It’s reported that the agreement is for a loan deal with obligation to buy clause agreed between the clubs. It’s understood from Sami Mokbel of Daily Mail that the buy clause is less than £40 million.

Sancho had already agreed personal terms with the London-based club, allowing for Romano’s famous “here we go” with an agreement from all parties.

Transfer deadline day is already producing some last minute deals.

And Manchester United seem to be no different.

Three deals have already been confirmed today.

Under-21 captain Sonny Aljofree has joined Accrington Stanley on loan.

While Elyh Harrison has moved to Chester FC for the season.

And United have now officially brought in Sekou Kone also.

It seems that it’s the case of one in and one out at Manchester United.

That’s because the club have lost a young ‘keeper today but have brought in another as a potential replacement.

Earlier this month, it was reported that Manchester United were set to sign Hubert Graczyk.

Graczyk had been released by Arsenal in the summer and it was anticipated that he’d be moving to Old Trafford shortly thereafter.

And it now seems as if that’s already happened.

That’s because Hubert Graczyk has been named in the under-21 squad for a game against Blackburn Rovers under-21s this evening.

The 21-year-old goalkeeper is on the substitutes bench.

As there hasn’t been a formal announcement from the club, it could be that the club have signed him on a short term contract.

However, sources from his native Poland have claimed that United were looking to sign him, so it could be that it’s just happened under the radar.

Hubert Graczyk spent time out on loan at Slough where he got some first team experience.

This is likely to be more of a recruitment for the academy and potentially a way to add depth after Harrison’s move to Chester.

Either way, it seems that Graczyk will be wearing the United jersey this season.

Despite being late on in transfer deadline day, the excitement still isn’t over.

New reports recently surfacing have linked Manchester United with yet another Chelsea star.

The Red Devils have been linked with Raheem Sterling in a move that would see the winger move to Old Trafford and a separate deal to see Jadon Sancho go the other way.

However, now United have been reported as being interested in Chelsea’s youngster, Carney Chukwuemenka.

The England Under-20s midfielder is expected to be one for the future, with United want him to join the whole host of exciting youngsters at Old Trafford.

However, The Red Devils now have competition.

Reports from Mike McGrath claim that West Ham United are also interested in the Aston Villa academy graduate.

Ultimately it comes down to if Chelsea want to part ways with the young wonderkid, but they aren’t short of options.

Another deal has been completed on transfer deadline day.

Earlier today, we had the news that Accrington Stanley were set to sign Sonny Aljofree on loan from United.

Chester FC, the National League North side who play in the sixth tier of English football, is just over an hour away from Manchester.

And they’ve signed signed a Manchester United goalkeeper for the season.

Elyh Harrison is a highly rated young ‘keeper at Old Trafford.

Harrison is the current Denzil Haroun Reserve-Team Player of the Year at United.

His performances helped the Under-18s win the national title and Premier League Cup last time out.

The 18-year-old is now looking to get first team experience and will be doing so at Chester.

Manchester United have confirmed that Elyh Harrison is moving to Chester FC on a season long loan.

Harrison will be looking to get some first team minutes under his belt at Deva Stadium and help the club push for promotion from the National League North.

Elyh Harrison joined Man Utd from Stevenage in 2022 and has already gained a reputation as one of the best keepers of his age group in England and has represented his country at youth level already too.

This is not the first interaction between the two clubs this summer.

A Manchester United XI beat Chester FC in a pre-season friendly in July.

Ironically enough, Elyh Harrison played that game in goal for the young United team.

He will be getting a lot more used to playing at Deva Stadium over the coming twelve months.

    It’s transfer deadline day!

And that means it’s likely that players are going to be coming in and going out of their clubs.

Last minute deals are currently taking place as clubs look to shape their squads one last time until they have to wait for January.

For many lower division clubs, loan moves are a great way to stock up.

Taking talented youngsters from higher division clubs is a win-win for everybody.

It also provides some much needed senior game time to some highly rated players.

One of those is set to move from Old Trafford to Accrington Stanley on loan.

Sonny Aljofree is the current Manchester United under-21 captain.

The 19-year-old central defender is highly rated by the club and is set for his second loan move away.

Last season, Aljofree spent time at Altrincham, but will be hoping for a better time away this season.

The Mirror are reporting that the central back will be joining Accrington Stanley in League Two on loan for the season from United.

Sonny Aljofree had interest from a number of clubs, but it seems that Accrington have won the race.

It was only earlier this summer that the talented defender had signed a new contract at Manchester United.

Aljofree is just one of a number of youth team players set to leave the club on deadline day.

His move is expected to be the first of many announced today.

Unfortunately for Erik ten Hag, Mason Mount has joined the ever growing injury list at Manchester United.

After a number of injuries stacking up through the pre-season, Mount has now joined the list thanks to a knock he took in United’s Premier League match up with Brighton & Hove Albion.

He was substituted at half time, with new boy Joshua Zirkzee coming on in his place. The fans were shocked to see him leave the pitch after a strong showing in the first half. However, after the match, ten Hag addressed the media to confirm that the midfielder had in fact taken a knock.

It’s now been confirmed however that the injury ruling Mount out was to do with his hamstring although is being considered as “not serious”.

Now, taking to Instagram, Mount has voiced his feelings on the setback.

On his story, the 25-year-old posted a note, saying: “During the last game I picked up a minor muscle injury. I’ve had it checked and it looks like I’ll be out for few games.”

It continued: “Leading up o and during pre season I worked hard to get my fitness back to where it needs to be and I felt, reenergised, sharp and ready.

  • Manchester United explore move for Dutch midfielder – report

    Dutch manager Erik ten Hag

Manchester United have reportedly explored a move for Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven’s Jerdy Schouten, Daily Mail reports.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils are close to completing a move for the Uruguay international Manuel Ugarte. A fee of €50m plus a further €10m in add-ons appears to be agreed.

The looming sale of academy graduate Scott McTominay to Napoli for a fee of €30m is key for the arrival of Ugarte.

According to Daily Mail‘s Sami Mokbel, United did look at Dutch player Jerdy Schouten as a potential low-cost alternative to Ugarte.

Schouten started 28 times and scored four goals for PSV in the 23/24 Eredivise campaign as they cruised to the title. He also started all six matches for his country at EURO 2024.

With Erik ten Hag’s ostensible willingess to bring in players from the Eredivise, it is not a surprise to see that Schouten was considered.

Ultimately, the Dutchman’s age profile may have been what deterred United from further pursuit. At 27 years old, he is four years older than the aforementioned Ugarte.

INEOS, the new partial owners of the club, have clearly targeted younger players in their first transfer window, with the acquisitions of Leny Yoro (18), Joshua Zirkzee (23) and Matthijs de Ligt (25) representing a new dawn of transfer activity at Old Trafford.
