The Red Devils endured back-to-back losses to Brighton and Liverpool just before the current international break, adding to a shaky start for the Dutch manager.

Another loss for Erik ten Hag during the international break

Unfortunately for Erik ten Hag, the international break hasn’t brought much respite either, as he recently experienced another defeat—albeit in a much lighter setting.

During a testimonial match at FC Utrecht, Ten Hag’s team of former players suffered a 2-1 loss.

The match was organized in honor of Utrecht legend Mark van der Maarel, who retired after a celebrated 15-year career with the club.

The testimonial pitted a squad of current players against an XI of former stars, with Ten Hag taking charge of the latter side.

Despite the more casual nature of the event, the 54-year-old saw his side fall short, with van der Maarel himself scoring the only goal for Ten Hag’s team.

Erik ten Hag’s history with Utrecht

The Dutch manager has a deep connection with Utrecht, having played for the club in the Eredivisie during the 1995 season.

Erik ten Hag later returned to manage Utrecht in 2015, staying at the helm for two and a half seasons before making the move to Ajax in 2017.

His time at Utrecht laid the foundation for his rise in Dutch football management.

    Premier League return against Southampton

As for Manchester United, the pressure is building for Ten Hag to turn things around after a tough start.

The team will resume Premier League action on Saturday, September 14, with a fixture against Southampton, where the Dutchman will be eager to end his string of consecutive defeats.

With the international break serving as a chance to regroup, Ten Hag will be hoping for a change in fortunes once club football returns.

There was a time when the Manchester United squad had the highest wage bill in world football.

United were regularly paying the big bucks and trying to outspend their way to success.

Since INEOS have come in, there has been a concerted effort to lower that wage at the club.

High earners like Raphael Varane, David de Gea and Anthony Martial have been let go as the club has changed tack when it comes to what they’re spending on players.

That doesn’t mean that you’re a pauper if you play for Manchester United.

There are still many players making an eye watering amount.

Casemiro, one of the players most recently criticised by pundits, is an example of a player who is earning a small fortune in Manchester.

We are able to share details on what the MUFC players earn on a weekly basis.

Manchester United adopted a clear transfer strategy this summer under new ownership. They focused on signing young, hungry players who can develop with the club over time.

Among the summer additions, Noussair Mazraoui was the oldest at 26 years old.

In contrast, 18-year-old Leny Yoro was the youngest signing.

United’s latest target: Ali Sahin Yilmaz

With the summer window now closed, United are already scouting for future talent.

One of their latest targets is 20-year-old Turkish defender Ali Sahin Yilmaz.

Sahin Yilmaz recently broke into Trabzonspor’s first-team after dealing with injuries last season.

In addition to first-team signings, United and INEOS have focused on academy talents.

The club is also in the process of securing Arsenal youngster Chido Obi-Martin to strengthen their attacking options.

    Building an exciting future

While results this season have been underwhelming so far, the club has taken positive steps to secure a promising future.

  • Manchester United contact Sevilla for versatile Olympic champion

Manchester United’s right-wing dilemma: could Juanlu Sánchez be the solution?

Erik ten Hag faced challenges on the right-wing for Manchester United last season.

Antony struggled with inconsistent form, and Jadon Sancho’s high-profile fallout further complicated matters.

Marcus Rashford made it clear he preferred the left wing, which left the Dutch manager exploring other options.

Alejandro Garnacho eventually got his chance on the right and made the spot his own.

Garnacho and Amad’s impact on the right-wing, INEOS want Antony out

With the rise of Amad Diallo, there is now less need to play Garnacho out of his favored position on the left.

Meanwhile, INEOS, the club’s prospective owners, reportedly want to move on from Antony.

This means Manchester United might benefit from adding a new right-sided attacker to the squad.

Manchester United now interested in Juanlu Sánchez

The Red Devils have identified Sevilla’s Juanlu Sánchez as a potential target.

The young talent could provide solutions in multiple areas of the pitch.

According to a report from ABC Sevilla, Manchester United contacted Gaby Ruiz, a close associate of Sevilla’s sporting director Victor Orta, to learn more about Sánchez.

United scouts reportedly closely followed Sánchez’s performances during the Summer Olympics, where Spain won the gold medal.

The report claimed that the sporting management of the Blanquirroja, through Gaby Ruiz, one of Víctor Orta’s closest collaborators, was asked by emissaries from Manchester United about Juanlu Sánchez who was followed with interest during the exceptional tournament that he had.

Sánchez’s versatility and potential role at United

Sánchez earned Sevilla’s Player of the Month award for August.  The 21-year-old offers versatility, which could benefit Ten Hag’s squad.

He primarily plays as a right-winger or right-wing-back but was used as a right-back during the Olympics.

In La Liga, he has played in central midfield and even as a supporting striker. This adaptability would strengthen United’s squad depth in several key areas.

A budget-friendly option for the future?

At just 21 years old, Sánchez fits the profile INEOS prefers—recruiting young talent.

Transfermarkt values him at €15 million, making him a potentially affordable option for United.

His contract runs until 2026, but with one year remaining next summer, the club could negotiate a bargain deal if they choose to pursue him further.

  • Manchester United now consider shock move for Brighton defender

Manchester United have had a busy transfer window as they continue to strengthen their squad, particularly in defense.

Despite already making significant investments to bolster their backline, Erik ten Hag’s side appears to be preparing for future moves.

Manchester United weigh up Lewis Dunk move

According to a report from Fichajes, the Red Devils are eyeing Brighton captain Lewis Dunk, with a potential transfer in the summer of 2025.

Dunk has been a key figure at Brighton for over a decade, having risen through their youth ranks and cementing his place in the first team since 2010.

Now 32 years old, the veteran defender has consistently played a pivotal role in helping the Seagulls remain competitive in the Premier League.

His leadership and experience have been instrumental in Brighton’s rise as a formidable team in the English top flight.

Throughout his long career at Brighton, Dunk has made more than 460 appearances for the club, with over 250 of those coming in the Premier League.

Despite being in the later stages of his career, Manchester United are reportedly considering a move to bring him to Old Trafford, aiming to add further depth and experience to their defense.

    United’s injury woes

Last season, Manchester United struggled defensively due to injuries to key players.

This led to significant changes in the summer transfer window, with Raphael Varane departing the club and the arrivals of Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, and Noussair Mazraoui to strengthen the backline.

However, ten Hag remains keen on signing an experienced central defender, and Dunk fits the bill as a player who can provide stability at the back.

Lewis Dunk open to the move

Dunk’s current contract with Brighton runs until 2026, but with his age and contract situation, Manchester United could potentially secure his services for a reduced fee next summer.

While Dunk is focused on his role at Brighton, he would reportedly be open to a move to Manchester United if the opportunity arises.

With United weighing their defensive options, Dunk’s experience and contract situation make him an attractive target for the Red Devils as they continue to assess potential signings for the future.

  • Manchester United now preparing £25m offer to sign Juan Cabal

    Dutch manager Erik ten Hag

Even though the transfer window has officially closed in England, Manchester United continues to be the subject of numerous transfer rumours.

Recently, the club has been strongly linked with a potential move for French free agent Adrien Rabiot.

CLICK HERE TO JOIN THE CENTRE DEVILS WHATSAPP GROUP CHAT NOW!

Another name that has surfaced in the rumour mill is Colombian left-back Juan Cabal.

The young defender, who recently joined Serie A giants Juventus, is now being linked with a quick exit.

According to a report from the Catalan outlet Nacional, Manchester United is preparing a £25.2 million bid to sign Juan Cabal as the new left-back.

The left-back position has been a challenging one for Erik ten Hag’s squad over the past couple of seasons.

Despite boasting one of the Premier League’s best in Luke Shaw, Manchester United has struggled to keep him fit for an extended period.

The same injury issues have plagued Tyrell Malacia, leaving the team vulnerable in this area.

CLICK HERE TO JOIN THE CENTRE DEVILS WHATSAPP GROUP CHAT NOW!

As a result, Ten Hag has had to improvise by deploying Diogo Dalot as a left-back.

While the Portuguese full-back has been competent in the role, it is not his natural position, which often leads to a lack of balance in United’s attack.

Dalot, who prefers to cut inside, does not provide the overlapping runs that are crucial for their left-wing play.

This tactical imbalance has impacted Marcus Rashford’s effectiveness on the left wing.

Rashford is not a traditional winger who stays wide; he prefers to cut inside towards the goal.

CLICK HERE TO JOIN THE CENTRE DEVILS WHATSAPP GROUP CHAT NOW!

To perform at his best, Marcus Rashford requires a left-back who can overlap and stretch the opposition’s defence.

Unfortunately, Dalot’s playing style mirrors Rashford’s, leading to a lack of width in United’s attacking play.

Bringing in Juan Cabal could be the solution to this issue.

The young Colombian has already shown promise, and Manchester United may be looking to secure him as a long-term solution for the left-back position.

While it is still early days, Cabal’s talent could make him a valuable addition to the squad.

As United continues to look for reinforcements, the addition of Cabal could be a smart move, allowing them to address a long-standing weakness in the team and provide crucial support for Rashford on the left flank.

  • Manchester United linked wonderkid comments on transfer speculation

    Manchester United

Manchester United have done an incredible job of securing some truly impressive youngsters this summer, with a number being given the label “wonderkid”.

The Red Devils have managed to sign Chido Obi-Martin from Arsenal, with the two clubs just agreeing on a compensation fee before the striker moves to Old Trafford.

Elsewhere Sekou Kone has been signed from Guidars FC in Mali, with the defensive midfielder having shone at last year’s Under-17s World Cup in Indonesia.

Samuel Lusale has also been signed from Crystal Palace, with the impressive winger waiting for the Premier League to sign off the move.

However, the most impressive young signing of the summer has to be Leny Yoro from LOSC Lille.

United managed to swoop in and lure the French defender from front runners Real Madrid, despite Yoro’s desire to move the Spanish capital.

This signing was a massive statement move, with the centre-back deemed a “generational talent”. However, United may need to beat Real Madrid once more with another one of their young targets.

The Red Devils are now looking at Franco Mastantuono from River Plate. The right-winger only joined the Plate side earlier this year from the academy but is already making massive waves.

With three goals and two assists already to his name at River Plate, Mastantuono has been likened to Barcelona wonderkid Yamine Lamal.

Despite the LaLiga champions being interested, a move to Madrid would be a big gamble for Mastantuono with Rodrygo Goes, Ernesto Valverde and fellow youngster Arda Guler all fighting for the same role in the team.

However, speaking now to Argentinian outlet Ole, Mastantuono commented about the transfer rumours, saying: “Today, I am 100 per cent here at River.”

He continued: “We have something very important ahead of us like the Cup and next year there is the Club World Cup, which is also a dream for me. I don’t think about (the rumours),

“(But) I like watching a lot of European football. Especially the Premier League, which is very entertaining.”

Whilst he has a £38 million release clause, Diario Sport, believe that a deal could be done for around £17 million.

Jamal Musiala is one of the best young players in the world right now.

Despite still being only 21, the attacking midfielder is already running games for his teams.

Whether it’s Bayern Munich or Germany, Musiala is a difference maker in almost every game he plays.

Many are wondering what he will have achieved when his career is over.

Based on what we’ve seen so far, he’s set to hit the top of the footballing world.

Unfortunately, Manchester United are currently far from the top of the football world.

Since Sir Alex Ferguson left the club, not many players of the calibre of Jamal Musiala have been at The Theatre of Dreams.

But that doesn’t mean that people don’t want to see him at Old Trafford.

One of the people who wants Musiala to come to United is new signing Joshua Zirkzee.

Before joining Bologna in Italy, Zirkzee was on the hands of Bayern where he became good friends with Musiala.

The new Manchester United striker made headlines a short while ago when he told reporters that he’s tried to convince Jamal Musiala to join him in Manchester.

And now Musiala has responded to that story.

Speaking to German newspaper Welt am Sonntag, Jamal Musiala has told reporters that the conversation has indeed taken place and what he responded in return.

“You always joke around with friends and dream of playing together in a team one day,” Jamal Musiala responded.

“The jokes go both ways: I also told Josh that he should come back to Bayern.

“But you shouldn’t take that too seriously.”

Asked whether he could leave Bayern for another top club as his contract runs down, Musiala added: “I am very happy at FC Bayern and fully focused on our goals with the club and the national team.

“I don’t think too much about where I will be playing in five years.

“Things can always change quickly in the world of football.”

For those unaware, Jamal Musiala’s contract runs out in 2026.

So he has two years left in Munich and rumours will inevitably start when he enters the final year of his contract.

For now, it seems that the conversation between Joshua Zirkzee and Jamal Musiala was just in good humour.

Manchester United fans will hope that the club is in a better position to make an attempt at Musiala in the future if the player ever became available.

With the likes of Zirkzee and fellow ex-Bayern men Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui joining the club this summer, Jamal Musiala would be surrounded by familiar faces if he ever did join Manchester United.

Newcastle United focus on January strengthening

Without European football this season, Newcastle may hold an advantage over their rivals in the league.

Despite their modest summer activity, the club is looking to strengthen the squad in January, specifically targeting an exciting winger.

    Newcastle United interested in Antony

Reports from CaughtOffside reveal that Newcastle United is considering Manchester United’s Antony as a potential target if their move for Anthony Elanga falls through in January.

Antony, who has scored 11 goals in two seasons at Old Trafford, could be available for transfer as Manchester United are open to offers.

Manchester United initially spent £86 million to sign Antony, but they are now willing to let him go for around £40 million.

Eddie Howe, Newcastle’s manager, admires Antony’s talents and believes the 24-year-old could make a strong impact.

    Antony’s struggles at Manchester United

Antony himself is reportedly interested in a move to Newcastle, and the club appears ready to meet Manchester United’s asking price.

A switch to St. James’ Park could give Antony the fresh start he needs after a tough spell in Manchester.

Last season was particularly difficult for the Brazilian, who scored just once in the Premier League.

Despite multiple opportunities given by manager Erik ten Hag, Antony struggled for form and spent much of the time on the bench after Amad Diallo‘s breakthrough.

    Future uncertain at Old Trafford

With plenty of wide options available at Manchester United, Antony’s chances of regular playing time look slim unless he shows major improvement.

United fans have grown frustrated, and the club’s owners, INEOS, were eager to move him on during the summer.

While a deadline day transfer didn’t materialize, the club remains open to offers for the winger.

    A new start on Tyneside?

The next few months will be crucial for Antony as he looks to turn his form around.

If the move to Newcastle happens, it could provide the Brazilian with an opportunity to revive his career and win over fans at his new club.
