  • Who is Gabriele Biancheri? – centredevils

    Gabriele Biancheri

Gabriel Biancheri has emerged as the next big name in Manchester United’s academy.

Manchester United have long prided themselves on developing talent from within.

From legends like Bobby Charlton to the Class of ’92, to modern stars like Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo, Carrington has been a breeding ground for top talent.

Nurturing youth is not just a financial advantage, saving millions on transfer fees, but it also keeps the club’s identity alive.

Players who come through the academy bring passion and a deep-rooted desire to succeed, motivating both themselves and others in the squad.

Having homegrown talent in the first team inspires younger players, showing them that the dream of playing for Manchester United is within reach.

Right now, the academy is overflowing with potential, thanks to significant investment.

Yet few talents are causing as much buzz as Gabriel Biancheri.

A year ago, he may not have been seen as the academy’s standout, but today, there’s no denying his ability.

Biancheri netted 17 goals in 27 games last season for the U18s, helping lead them to a treble-winning campaign, while also scoring 2 goals for the U21’s.

However, it’s his blistering start to the 2024/25 season that’s truly turning heads – 9 goals in just 6 games, making him look unstoppable.

This form has caught the eye of new technical director Jason Willcox, with reports believing that Biancheri has coaches at the club salivating at his potential.

He’s already challenging U21 striker Ethan Wheatley for a place in the side and could soon be pushing for first-team minutes, perhaps in the UEFA Europa League.

    But who is Gabriel Biancheri?

  • Ex-Manchester United man angrily confronts fans in stand after loss

Boca Juniors fans angry after losing to River Plate

Football fans are not the easiest bunch of people to please.

One bad performance and many will label players and clubs are the worst thing on God’s green Earth.

And criticism is often more vocal than praise.

Manchester United players will certainly be more aware of that than anyone in recent times.

Typically, most players will just shrug off any criticism that comes their way.

But at times, it spills out into something altogether unsavoury.

A recent example of this is from CONMEBOL Copa America 2024.

In the semi final between Uruguay and Colombia, the game was overshadowed by scenes of Uruguay players jumping into the crowd and fighting Colombia fans.

Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez was one of those caught up in the madness.

Another incident has now occurred in South America at a club level.

This one, however, involves a former Manchester United star.

Sergio Romero, an Argentina goalkeeper who was signed by Louis van Gaal and played at Old Trafford from 2015 to 2021, is in hot water after angrily reacting to provocation from his own fans.

Romero was playing for Boca Juniors in his native homeland as they lost 1-0 to rivals River Plate.

Boca had been reduced to 10 men in the 112th minute of the game after Cristian Lema reacted poorly to VAR disallowing an injury time equaliser for his side.

But that was only the start of the madness.

In an altercation caught by TNT Sports, an angry Romero is caught on camera heading up to the terraces and squaring up to some upset Boca fans after the final whistle is blown.

The former United ‘keeper is restrained by Boca representatives as he has an angry exchange with the fans.

One of the fans even puts his hands on Romero’s chest and pushes him back.

Boca’s substitute goalkeeper Leandro Brey then attempts to pull Romero away and the camera goes to fans trying to climb over the barricade and continue their verbal battle with the Boca Juniors captain.

Romero had to be held back by a combination of Boca officials, fans and his fellow team-mates as he continued seething.

After the game, Sergio Romero apologised for the way that he reacted.

“When the fan insulted me, I couldn’t think at the moment and I lost my mind,” Romero said.

“He cursed me so hard that he just found me.

“I was leaving and I lost my mind and I went back to look for him.

“I offer my apologies to the fan who insulted me because it is his right.”

Despite Romero’s apology, the scenes were shocking to say the least and has to be seen to be believed.

  • Manchester United scout Champions League forward

Manchester United scouts were at RB Salzburg’s game against Sparta Prague in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Many young players are thought to be on United’s radar, with Salzburg being a breeding ground for footballing talent.

Some notable players that have played for them include Erling Haaland, Sadio Mane and Dayot Upemecano.

After five forwards left in the recent transfer window, United are looking to add depth to their front line.

Jadon Sancho, Mason Greenwood, Omari Forson, Anthony Martial and Facundo Pellistri all found new clubs over summer.

    Manchester United’s Future Forward?

United are interested in 18-year-old Adam Daghim, according to Danish source Tipsbladet.

Daghim joined RB Salzburg last summer and has broken into the starting line-up this season.

He spent the last year on loan at FC Liefering, scoring 10 goals and providing eight assists in all competitions.

Comfortable in all positions in a forward line, Daghim is a dynamic talent in the Austrian Bundesliga.

He has already scored twice this season for Salzburg, including in a Champions League qualifying game against Dynamo Kyiv.

Salzburg look keen to lock the Danish talent down for the long-term, after agreeing a new contract with him until 2028.

Should they make an approach for Daghim, United may have to fight Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig for his signature.

The German giants and Salzburg’s sister club are monitoring the forward as a future transfer target.

If he were to join the Red Devils, Daghim would be one of nine players in the senior squad under the age of 21.

Erik ten Hag and Sir Jim Ratcliffe are focused on building United into a force for the future and Daghim certainly aligns with the club’s project.

  • 5 things we learnt from Crystal Palace vs Manchester United game

Manchester United faced off with Crystal Palace in a crucial English Premier League clash at Selhurst Park this afternoon.

United dominated the first half, creating numerous chances but failing to convert them.

A goal seemed inevitable as United pressed high, limiting Crystal Palace to minimal possession and few opportunities.

However, the game shifted in the second half.

United struggled to maintain control, allowing Palace to create more chances.

Andre Onana made a vital double save thwarting Eddie Nketiah and Ismaila Sarr to keep the score level.

Erik ten Hag attempted to influence the game with substitutions, bringing on Manuel Ugarte, Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Højlund.

Unfortunately, these changes didn’t have the desired effect, with United losing momentum and generating fewer chances after the changes.

Despite losing twice to Palace last season, including a crushing 4-0 defeat, this will feel like a missed opportunity for United to secure three crucial points.

The result leaves Manchester United in 11th place in the league with just seven points, as they continue to struggle for consistency.

To improve, the Red Devils must reflect on both the positives and negatives from this game.

Here are five things we learned from tonight’s fixture.

  • European giants want Mason Greenwood

Mason Greenwood left Manchester United on a permanent transfer in July.

He joined Marseille on a five-year deal for a fee of £26.6m.

Since playing for the Ligue 1 side, Greenwood has had an electrifying start to the season.

He has scored five goals in four matches, winning Marseille’s player of the month award for August.

    Greenwood Scouted Across Europe

His form has caught the eyes of some huge European sides, which has significant implications for United.

Included in his deal to move to Marseille, United have a 50 per cent sell-on clause for Greenwood.

Therefore, that they will be entitled to half of the profits if Marseille decide to sell the 22 year old.

Scouts from Spain have followed Greenwood to the French league, after watching him closely in his loan spell at Getafe.

The forward spent last season at the La Liga side, scoring 10 goals in 36 games in all competitions.

Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are interested in Greenwood, according to TALKSPORT.

Both sides thought about approaching him this summer but opted not to and were beaten to his signature by Marseille.

Another team interested in Greenwood is Bayern Munich.

Bayern expected to sign a striker in the summer after allowing Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting to leave on a free transfer.

However, they settled on signing winger Michael Olise and extending Mathys Tel’s contract.

Greenwood is a versatile player, able to operate effectively in all positions in a front three.

Bayern have been scouting him during his time at Marseille and could make an approach for him, should they want to add more depth to their attack.

If Greenwood continues his strong development, United’s hefty sell-on clause may prove to be one of the most shrewd pieces of business in their history.

  • Erik ten Hag responds to speculations about his future

    Erik ten Hag Press Conference

Erik ten Hag and INEOS did not agree on a new contract this summer.

Instead, they triggered an extension on his current contract which keeps Ten Hag at Manchester United until 2026.

Amid speculation over his future, new CEO Omar Berrada expressed his support for the Dutchman.

“Erik has our full backing and we’ve worked very closely together in this transfer window”, he said, earlier this month.

“Do we still believe in Erik? Absolutely. We think Erik is the right coach for us and we’re fully backing him.”

Ten Hag has won two trophies in two seasons at United and recognises the pressure of being United’s manager.

After an up-and-down start to the season, questions regarding his ability to continue in his role have been raised again.

He addressed these concerns, speaking to Sky Sports before United’s game against Crystal Palace.

“When we are losing, there is pressure, there is noise so I don’t have to read these articles what’s coming up because I know it’s there,” said Ten Hag.

“I feel the backing. I feel we are in this together”, he insisted.

Ten Hag has repeatedly noted that trophies are paramount when judging a manager’s progress.

For him, they are a prerequisite for being a successful manager at United and he further emphasised this yesterday.

“We will go again for silverware and we will go again to construct a good team.”

“We hope to do it as in the first season, but if we have say setbacks, we’ll deal with it and then still we have to win.”

Ten Hag is looking to become the first United manager to win trophies in three consecutive seasons since Sir Alex Ferguson between 2006/07 and 2008/09.

  • Erik ten Hag confirms major player will start against Crystal Palace

Manchester United are set to face Crystal Palace with a squad that looks markedly different from the one that suffered a 4-0 defeat near the end of last season.

Manager Erik ten Hag returns to Selhurst Park with the opportunity to showcase the progress his team has made since that disappointing loss.

United enter the match brimming with confidence after scoring ten unanswered goals in their last two games.

Aiming for a third consecutive victory, the team is in high spirits.

Unlike the previous season, when Ten Hag struggled to field a full starting XI, he now enjoys the “nice headaches” that come with a healthy and competitive squad.

Erik ten Hag confirms a major starter

Amidst these selection dilemmas, the manager has confirmed that Manuel Ugarte is ready for his first league start, despite having had limited training time with the team.

In his embargoed press conference, Ten Hag revealed that the squad has emerged from the last two games without any new injury concerns—a fact not taken for granted at Carrington.

The team’s depth is further enhanced by the return of players like Rasmus Hojlund and Mason Mount, who have rejoined training sessions.

CLICK HERE TO JOIN THE CENTRE DEVILS WHATSAPP GROUP CHAT NOW!

Hojlund is expected to be part of the squad against Crystal Palace, with Mount set to follow soon.

Additionally, Luke Shaw is advancing in his recovery, and Tyrell Malacia has participated in team training for the first time in over a year.

Manuel Ugarte’s integration into the team

Discussing Ugarte’s readiness, Ten Hag said: “He’s a player very short in [number of] sessions, now he has a start in him.

“In Southampton, he came in as a sub. Yeah, still, he’s in the process that he has come into the club.

“He has to come into the team and know what is the game, what are the principles, what are the rules, and know his team-mates.

“So, especially, know with his profile what he can contribute for his team.

“So yeah, we are in that process and that will take some time, but it will come, it will come in a natural way.

“And you can already see when he is fulfilling the process he will really be a very good player for us.”

Ugarte made a substitute appearance against Southampton and was subbed off in the Carabao Cup match against Barnsley as he builds up his match fitness. In both games, his potential was evident and promising.

  • 4 battles to define result in Crystal Palace vs Manchester United

Manchester United’s next game is away at Crystal Palace on Saturday.

After an inconsistent start to Manchester United’s season, they have found some form following the international break.

With convincing wins over Southampton and Barnsley, Erik ten Hag will be eager to extend this momentum against a struggling Crystal Palace side.

Despite a strong end to last season following Oliver Glasner’s arrival, Crystal Palace have picked up just two points from their first four games.

A slump that may partly be due to the absence of key players Michael Olise and Joachim Andersen.

These two sides have met 26 times in the Premier League.

With United winning 16, Palace securing 5 victories, and 5 games ending in draws.

However, after Crystal Palace did the double over United last year with 1-0 and 4-0 wins, Erik ten Hag will take this fixture very seriously.

In particular, the 4-0 loss at Selhurst Park was particularly damaging for ten Hag.

The Dutchman will be hoping that the game tomorrow will maintain United’s recent form and secure a vital three points.

Here are 4 key battles that will define this fixtures results.

  • Napoli sporting director comments on Scott McTominay deal

This summer saw Manchester United sell one of their top academy graduates, Scott McTominay.

McTominay was United’s most sellable asset, with interest from the likes of Spurs, Brighton, Everton, Galatasaray and Fenerbahce.

However, the front runners for a long time were Fulham, who bid three times for the Scotland international.

In a mad turn of events, the same day that Fulham met United’s asking price for McTominay, The Cottagers pulled out of the deal, instead signing Sander Berge from Burnley.

Ultimately, Napoli stepped in and agreed to The Red Devils’ valuation, paying £25 million for McTominay to move to Italy.

Now, Napoli’s sporting director, Giovanni Manna, has spoken out about the move.

Speaking to Radio CRC, Manna commented: “First of all, I have to say that McTominay strongly wanted to come to Napoli. That was really satisfying,”

He continued: “If a player who plays in the Premier League for Manchester United chooses to come to Naples, we should all be proud.

“Initially, I didn’t think we could get to the point of closing (the deal) despite the contact that had been made with the agent at the start of the transfer window.

“Along the way, we continued to maintain these relationships until the moment we sat down with Manchester United and realised that the operation could be done.”

  • Zach Baumann signs with Manchester United

Manchester United have made a massive push on signing young stars for the future this summer.

Already the club have secured Sekou Kone from Malian side Guidars FC after a strong showing at last year’s Under-17s World Cup.

Alongside Kone, United have also confirmed the signing of Samuel Lusale from Crystal Palace.

Despite being signed earlier in the summer, the move has only just been confirmed by the Premier League and Football Association, allowing for the winger to move between youth academies.

Another star awaiting confirmation is Chido Obi-Martin, the former Arsenal striker awaiting the sign off on his move to Old Trafford.

However, now United have signed yet another exciting youngster to their ranks.

Now Academy Scoop has reported on X that Zach Baumann has signed his first professional contract with Manchester United.

The post has reported Baumann as a: “central midfielder with an abundance of intelligence and quality in possession.”

Baumann has had a great showing for the youth sides, having played for the Under-18s and Under-21s sides, grabbing two goals and three assists in 26 games.
