If you watch competitive Street Fighter you know the names of Japanese pros GyoGun|Moke and BST|Fuudo, both of who are top notch players, both of who placed ninth at Evo this year, and both of who have been feuding over the number one rank online.
While they tend to flip flop between ranks one and two, they’ve recently decided to make things interesting as they race to be the first player to ever reach 2,300MR. During a streaming session on Wednesday, Moke actually ran into Fuudo while both players had 2272MR; their fight wound up being memorable for more than one reason.
This endeavor to be the first to crack 2300MR is no small side quest or fun tangent as Moke could be seen consistently checking Fuudo’s online results between network bouts of his own while streaming, furiously tracking his foe to make sure he wasn’t pulling ahead.
Indeed, the race was hot as both players inched closer and closer to the magic amount of master rank points, neither breaking away from or falling behind the other.
The MR grind is particularly strenuous in Street Fighter 6, never more so than when you’re at the absolute top of the mountain. You gain points based on the discrepancy between you and your foe’s points, and these are the two top dogs in the world right now. That means while wins might offer three or four points of progress, losses tend to sap two to three times that amount away.
Moke’s stream session saw him face off against plenty of recognizable names, such as Rohto|Tokido, and after many impressive wins he reached 2272MR. As the SF6 servers queued up the next match, Dee Jay appeared on screen, and indeed, it was his current rival.
After a relatively convincing first round, Moke had all the momentum in his corner. The second round saw him patiently score a few openings while taking almost no damage, leading to him cornering a burned out Fuudo with a life bar that couldn’t withstand even a single hit.
You never count an Evo champion out, though, and Fuudo somehow miraculously turned things around and survived the near death experience to bring the round count to 1-1. The 2011 Street Fighter champ then won the following round, effectively stealing Moke’s precious MR points right out from under him.
Then he quit.
No joke, Fuudo took his points and ran, opting not to give Moke the rematch and making for perhaps the coldest “one and done” we’ve ever seen. You can check it all out for yourself right here:
As of the writing of this article, neither player has crossed the 2300MR threshold. Moke sits currently at 2282MR while Fuudo has 2258MR.
With less than a week remaining for Neuvillette and Hu Tao banners, Genshin Impact 4.1 will end soon after Wriothesley. Genshin Impact 4.2 might not be around the corner yet but there are tons of things to be excited about. For starters, it will bring a map expansion to Fontaine, the sequel to the last Archon quest, and a few more things we covered in our Genshin Impact 4.2 leaks and rumors article. As you may already be aware, Genshin Impact banners in each version are divided into two phases — each phase features two characters. There’s one weapon banner for one phase and features the signature weapons of the characters in the banners.
The first phase of Genshin Impact 4.2 will feature the sassiest of sassy archons, Furina aka Focalors and Baizhu. However, all you need to know is she’s an off-field DPS / Support character and will pair great with Pyro units in the game. Baizhu, on the other hand, is a healer, and from what we feel, it looks like Furina’s banner will overpower his.
The second phase will feature the current head of the Yashiro Commission, Kamisato Ayato alongside the most hilarious fellow in Teyvat, although the “Mahamatra” moniker signifies otherwise, the General Mahamatra of the Akademia, Cyno. The weapons banner in the second phase will feature Haran Gepaku Futsu and Staff of the Scarlet Sands, signature weapons of Ayato and Cyno, respectively.
It’s too early for the four-star weapons to leak but we should start seeing a few leaks as early as the next two weeks. Although, this is probably the first time all four-star characters have leaked a whole month ahead of a version release.
How do Banners in Genshin Work?
There are three types of banners in Genshin Impact — Limited Time Character, Weapon, and Permanent banners. Although the last one is pretty self-explanatory, the former two are limited. Each Genshin Impact version is divided into two phases and each phase features two limited-time character banners and one weapon banner. Each phase lasts for three weeks, i.e., 21 days, and one patch lasts for 42 days.
That said, show your excitement for your favorite upcoming characters in the comments section below. Do let us know your “game” plan and for whom you are saving primogems.
The U.S. Space Force has recently announced that it is temporarily halting the use of web-based generative AI tools like ChatGPT. The major reason for the suspension is due to data security concerns. The decision was made due to the risks associated with data aggregation. The memo is addressed to “Guardians”, this is the name Space Force calls its workforce. It stops its staff from using such AI tools including large-language models on government PCs. The suspension will be on until they receive formal approval by the force’s Chief Technology and Innovation Office.
According to the memo dated Sept. 29, staff can only use the AI tools unless they obtain a Space Force license. Lisa Costa, Chief Technology and Innovation Officer for the Space Force, said in the memo that the technology “will undoubtedly revolutionize the way we work and enhance the Guardians’ ability to operate at high speeds”.
In the memo, Costa also said that her office has formed a generative AI task force. The task force was formed in conjunction with other Pentagon offices to consider using the technology in a “responsible and strategic” way. She also said additional guidance on the Space Force’s use of generative AI would be released next month.
The use of generative AI hit the public domain sometime last year. They use large amounts of historical data to learn and can quickly generate content such as text, images or videos based on a simple prompt.
What is Generative AI?
Generative AI is a type of AI that uses large language models to ingest huge troves of past data to learn and generate content like text, images, or video off of a simple prompt. The technology has exploded in the past year, underpinning ever-evolving products such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
Gizchina News of the week
Why is the Use of Generative AI Suspended?
The temporary ban on the use of generative AI is due to data aggregation risks. The technology has the potential to collect and aggregate large amounts of data. This could pose a security risk if not properly managed. The U.S. Space Force is taking a strategic pause on the use of generative AI and large language models within the force. This ban will be in place as they determine the best path forward to integrate these capabilities into Guardians’ roles.
Space Force spokesperson confirmed the temporary ban. Tanya Downsworth, spokesperson for Space Force said in a statement
“The U.S. Space Force has implemented a strategic ban on the use of generative AI and large language models, and we are identifying ways to integrate these capabilities into the Guardian role and the Space Force mission,” She adds “This is about protecting our services and the data that keeps us safe.”
What is the Impact of the Suspension?
The decision to suspend the use of generative AI has impacted at least 500 Space Force members. The force plans to release new guidance in a few weeks. The temporary ban is a precautionary measure to protect the data and security of the U.S. Space Force.

Today we’re sharing some Street Fighter fan artwork from one Miche, a Japanese artist who is most definitely in love with Juri, though a handful of other characters do get some representation.
Cammy, Kimberly, Morrigan, and even JP get a little love in today’s gallery as well, but the final image features Chun-Li in some attire you won’t find in any of the many games she’s appeared in.
Said final image is an homage to the Street Fighter 2 animated movie and what’s likely the film’s most memorable scene. It features Chun-Li just after a steamy shower, drying off in her apartment only clad in a few loose pajamas.
In what winds up being one of the most intense sequences in the movie, Vega silently infiltrates Chun’s apartment after voyeuristically stalking her for some time. The two get into an absolutely brutal fight as Chun gets slashed, Vega gets kicked, and couches get tossed.
We also appreciate a few different costumes for Juri as she poses in her SF5 attire amid a Street Fighter 6 stage, in two versions of her pink zip up PJ’s, and in her standard Street Fighter 6 threads.
Cammy slips into a handful of different outfits, but the one that most caught our eye has her in a red cape reminiscent of the one she wore as the Killer Bee back in the Alpha games.
Check out the full gallery below and then let us know in the comments which of these were your favorites and why.

A new segment for telecommunications is growing exponentially in the past few years. Instead of depending on cellular towers, companies are now venturing into space to transmit information. Last year, Apple revolutionized its communications system with the SOS Emergency feature, utilizing satellites to send emergency alerts. This sparked a new trend, with more companies eager to tap into the potential of satellite communication for messaging, calls, and more. Last year, Elon Musk’s SpaceX announced a joint venture between its internet company, Starlink, and T-Mobile. The collaboration aims to beam data directly to your phone from space satellites. While the service is set to launch in the coming year, its offerings will be gradually introduced.
Starlink’s Satellite-Powered Mobile data could be revolutionary
According to an official statement, Starlink and T-Mobile will initiate the trial for their new system. In the next year, only texting will be supported as a trial to sort out bugs and test the system. By 2025, the company plans to start offering voice and data service, as well Internet of Things (IoT) functions.
The connection will be done over LTE and it’s not clear how much bandwidth will be available. The data service should be fast enough for web browsing according to SpaceX. However, we need to remind you that the revolution in this feature is not in offering the fastest internet speed. The real revolution is offering seamless connectivity on emergencies. Starlink’s Direct To Cell service also offers a unique twist. Unlike Apple that requires special hardware, Starlink’s satellites will work like cell towers. This means that with a clear view o the sky any 4G capable device will be able to connect.
Gizchina News of the week
During the first trial, it will be possible to send text messages with SMS apps. However, once the data service pops out, users should be able to use WhatsApp, Skype and even iMessage. It’s not a system meant only for sending emergency alerts, it aims to offer you with internet for the most extreme circumstances. You just need coverage.
Starlink prepares the field to ensure coverage
While the feature is not ready, Starlink keeps preparing the field for its deployment. The company signed deals with multiple carriers around the world. Optus in Australia, Rogers in Canada, KDDI in Japan, One NZ in New Zealand, Salt in Switzerland and T-Mobile in the USA. More will likely jump in once the system shows its true power. Right now, the service aims to cover land, lakes and coastal waters. For those lookin for internet in the middle of the ocean, they will need to sign up for Starlink’s maritime service. On land, the system aims to fill gaps in the carrier’s coverage without them having to build out costlier infrastructure.
Unfortunately, it’s not clear if roaming will be available and to what extent since each country manages its wireless frequencies. In fact, that may explain why SpaceX is individually partnering with multiple carriers across the world. The company invested a lot of money to get a portion of wireless spectrum.
Conclusion
Starlink’s Direct To Cell is an innovative technology that could start a revolution in this field. If Apple proved how important is to have an efficient communications system for emergencies, Starlink’s solution could be revolutionary by expanding what you can do in emergency situations. The system is not limited to sending emergency texts or location reports, you can actually use the internet, apps, and make calls depending on your location.
The next year will be determinant for the company to test the quality of its new solution. By 2025, we will finally see the system at its full extent.
Late last month, Capcom added the newest contender to Street Fighter 6 as the game’s second DLC character. A.K.I., the lethal apprentice of Street Fighter 5’s F.A.N.G, has been officially available for a little over two weeks now and she seems to be fairly well received — despite some pro players placing her at the bottom of the tier list.
While playing as A.K.I., I kind of felt like her level 1 and level 2 supers weren’t doing a lot of damage when used in certain combos, so it got me wondering what the damage values of her super attacks actually are. This inspired me to have a look at the whole cast’s supers, and today we have gathered up all of the main damage values for every super in Street Fighter 6 and organized them not only by character, but categorized them by the amount of damage they do to see how each one stacks up against the others.
Included here we have breakdowns for every character that lists out their super attack, what level it is (1, 2, or 3), and how much raw damage it does. These values were taken from Capcom’s official frame data for Street Fighter 6, as well as some in-game tests I ran myself.
There are no punish counters, counter hits, or special conditions used here when calculating the values. These numbers represent the damage done if any of these supers hit raw under normal circumstances.
It is worth noting that some characters, like Dee Jay, had a ton of different values listed for moves like his level 2 super due to all of the variations it has. For him specifically, I only charted the value of his full level 2 super sequences for the light version and the heavy version, as those are the two most significant ones.
There are some very interesting, lesser-known facts here that I hadn’t realized were a thing before digging into the numbers. For example, I wasn’t aware that Zangief’s level 1 super dishes out a whopping 3500 damage if it lands, whereas the average level 1 is doing somewhere in the ballpark of 2000 damage.
Additionally, Lily is the only other character outside of Zangief who deals higher damage for her level 3 and Critical Art. Every character in the game (aside from those two fighters and Jamie, who uniquely does less for level 3) do 4000 for level 3 and 4500 for Critical Art.
There’s a lot to learn by looking at these numbers, and at the very least, it hopefully will act as a nice quick reference guide for the fighting game community.
WRC games have a long-standing history on home consoles and PCs, with each release bringing that extreme automobile sport many love and enjoy to new heights. Naturally, when EA purchased Codemasters, they did it to establish dominance in the sports racing genre. Enter EA Sports WRC, a title that unsurprisingly changes hands from Kylotonn, promising to bring an authentic WRC experience. Codemasters have had experience with the WRC sports, with their DiRT titles gaining critical acclaim over the years. Hence, it was only natural to hand them the baton (this IP) and let them produce another magical experience. But is it going to deliver? Let’s find out!
With the launch a few months away, the developer gave us access to a preview build of EA Sports WRC. The current game featured most things touted by the upcoming title, giving us a great idea of what to expect. Furthermore, just a heads up, we played WRC on a PC using a controller. Hence, if you want a detailed preview based on a sim setup, we unfortunately cannot deliver that. With all said and done, here is an overview of the EA Sports WRC preview from someone who judiciously does not follow the sport but enjoyed the DiRT rally games.
A WRC Experience for Everyone
The developers of EA Sports WRC constantly pointed out that they want this entry to be an accessible experience for everyone. This means casual players like me and experienced fans, like some of you reading this, can enjoy the title to its fullest. Fortunately, the same reflects on the game at numerous levels.
When we first booted up the game, we were presented with a choice of our play experience. I went for beginner, which took me to the rally school to teach me the essentials about WRC and rally driving. Rally School has every discipline, starting from something as simple as basic driving to advanced stuff like hand braking and speeding. Having something like this in-game creates a welcoming experience, and I always appreciate it. With the basic training out of the way, onto the tracks we go!
The moment you race around in WRC, the beginner-level selection is also reflected in car handling. For me, EA Sports WRC fine-tuned the car to make it feel arcady. I didn’t have to worry about the precise fine-tuning and the sim settings. The game did everything for me. Called the Dynamic Handing System, it made playing the preview build a joyous experience on a controller.
The game adapts the handling based on the terrain, so for once it did not feel like uncharted territory. For players who want more control over their driving, there are multiple options for you to tweak in settings. These options further reaffirm the dev’s commitment, as they’re not trying to limit the WRC experience to enthusiasts. All racing game fans can give this a go without much hesitation.
Choose Your Game Mode
Once you are out of the rally school and finally understand the essentials, the game opens up and presents you with its true potential. The preview build of EA Sports WRC allowed us to try out various game models some of them being:
Quick Play allows you to generate a Rally Championship and play through it. You have numerous events to pick, different conditions to decide, and even fine-tune the racing experience. This is for players who want to enjoy the game in their free time.
Moments are real-world highlights from the history of WRC. You relieve these moments and play through them. It’s a great addition for WRC fans who want to enjoy some of their favorite moments from the game.
Career mode is your staple simulation experience, where you run a WRC team from scratch. You create your banner, manage your teams, and ultimately ensure that you win a WRC season from the ground up.
Content-wise, you have tons to work with if sports racing games are your jam. Even though the preview build didn’t have online features unlocked out of the box, you have a lot to work with, and such variety in choices ensures you decide on your experience. For example, we played quick matches more than career or moments. Since I wanted a simpler experience, this suited my needs.
A quick match ensures you have a lot of content in the game. It auto-generates tracks, events, and cars for you to pick. From then onwards, you can add or omit whatever fancies you. Before each match, you can fix and customize your vehicle (more on this below) and go through shakedowns to get a feel of the track.
I love the content on offer in sports games, and EA Sports WRC has a lot to work with. WRC allows you to pick your experience and keep playing it as you like. If there is one thing I know, racing games never get dull. Fans and newcomers will have a lot to work with when the game launches on 3rd November 2023 later this year.
Build Your Own WRC Car
Another new addition to this upcoming EA game is a car builder. This is completely made for enthusiastic fans, where you can build your dream EA Sports WRC car from scratch.
From the chassis to the engines, you have free rein to what you want your sports car to look like. The option to fine-tune and create your WRC car in the builder was immaculate. You fine-tune the wheel handling, braking system, and much more. It does not end there, as EA Sports WRC also added a livery creator to make your custom livery for the car. The full release will allow you to share your creations with other players. I can see a dedicated fanbase for the creations.
While I don’t see the casual fans exploring the builder much, this is definitely made for the hardcore fans, for the ones who want the WRC experience but cannot afford to take part in the events. For them, they will appreciate this offering.
EA Sports WRC: Worth Your Salt DiRT?
For someone who doesn’t enjoy sports racing and prefers arcade racing, EA Sports WRC was a fun experience. Be it the diverse gameplay options or the newcomer-focused features, the game feels like Codemasters utilized the 50 years of rich history to create a game for sports racing fans.
While there were some inconsistencies, which are understandable from a pre-release build and can be polished by release, EA WRC felt very much like a DiRT game numerous times. The developers are bringing their knowledge from that series to this title, which shows. Overall, we cannot wait for the game to launch and share more details. Are you excited for EA Sports WRC? Let us know in the comments below.

Another Mortal Kombat 1 update has been shipped out, this time specifically for the Nintendo Switch version of the game.
It’s no secret that the Switch port of Mortal Kombat 1 is riddled with issues, and it looks like Warner Bros. Games and NetherRealm Studios are beginning to address some of them now. The latest update’s patch notes are now available, and in them we learn that the new update comes equipped with visual, performance, and loading time improvements, as well as several other fixes.
Mortal Kombat 1 is an incredibly graphically demanding game. It looks gorgeous and it is very much a true next-gen title, so fans had some concerns when they initially learned that the game would also see a release on Nintendo’s console / handheld hybrid.
To put this into perspective, the Nintendo Switch is generally considered to have weaker hardware than even the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles, and Mortal Kombat 1 didn’t even see a release on either of those two past generation platforms. So, what happens when a highly detailed and highly demanding game like Mortal Kombat 1 is released on Nintendo Switch? A ton of issues, that’s what.
Shortly after release, fans and media outlets were quick to show comparisons between the Nintendo Switch version of Mortal Kombat 1 and the other platforms’ versions. The disparity was night and day different, with characters on the Switch looking bug eyed and bereft of detail and shading. It’s pretty rough.
Fortunately, though, Mortal Kombat series co-creator Ed Boon put out a message to fans last month not only acknowledging that he is aware of the issues, but that the Switch version will definitely be seeing an update to address the problems.
“It will be supported, like we did with Mortal Kombat 11,” Boon said about the Switch version of Mortal Kombat 1. “Anything that we see that is not acceptable will absolutely be addressed.”
Specific details about what all was changed wasn’t provided in the patch notes, however, we do get the general idea of what areas of the game have been touched up. Season 1 of Invasions, stability, performance, loading times, visuals, and more have all been tweaked or improved here, and the patch notes interestingly also make mention of “gameplay balance changes,” though there are no notes on what or who got altered on that front.
You can check out the full set of patch notes for the latest Mortal Kombat 1 update on Nintendo Switch below.
