  • EventHubs is now on IMDb

If you’ve been perusing out site in recent months you’ve no doubt seen the exclusive video content we’ve been producing. This has been my personal project for the better part of the last two years, but has very much been a team effort as most all of our staff has joined up to help host or produce our video content.

We’re happy to announce that we’ve got an official IMDb page for our EventHubs Talk and Block show, as well as one for our Full Stories of Fighting Game Characters series.

Talk and Block is regularly hosted by myself and our President and Founder, Jon “Catalyst” Grey as we discuss various topics related to fighting games. From tier lists to competitive happenings, history to gameplay, and plenty beyond, you’ll find tons of content (yes, mostly Street Fighter-related) on our Talk and Block playlist.

We are occasionally joined by our Head of Editorial, Steven “DreamKing” Chavez as he often has some relevant expertise to contribute, and we’ve welcomed Nick “MajinTenshinhan” Taylor, Justin “AdaptiveTrigger” Gordon, and Dakota “DarkHorse” Hills in the past as well.

Our character stories videos detail the canonical histories of various Street Fighter characters from before the events of Street Fighter 1 all the way up to modern day Street Fighter 6. Some of these fighters have gotten a good bit more development and attention than others from Capcom, but we’ve been surprised more than once to find certain characters have deeper evolutions and themes than you’d initially think.

There are also a handful of helpful video essays on our YouTube Channel as we explore things like the fundamentals of footsies, helpful tips or bad mistakes that are likely hampering your progress, or even character ranking countdowns.

To those of you who regularly check out our video content and have helped us grow large enough to justify an IMDb page, I’d like to send a huge thank you. To those of you who haven’t subscribed yet, here’s our latest Talk and Block upload. Give it a watch and consider jumping on the EH video bandwagon:

  • Discussing Street Fighter 6’s most frustrating issue

After playing enough fighting games you naturally develop sensitivities and intuitions for how they feel and flow, and since the genre is so often explored on a frame by frame basis, our tuning tends to be extremely precise. Street Fighter 6 players have been experiencing what many are calling dropped inputs as it seems the game deviates, at times, from traditional feel and flow.

Frustrations surrounding inputs have been fairly prominent since the game launched back in June, and still continue here some four months later. The community has been exploring what exactly is going on, and while we don’t have all answers, we are now able to highlight a handful of various input issues and begin to understand what they are as well as what they aren’t.

Catalyst, DreamKing, and I put these issues under the microscope as we explore why it feels like we often experience incorrect moves, eaten inputs, (which actually isn’t really what’s going on) and other similar scenarios.

    Overly Lenient Input Windows

The first of these we discuss seems to stem from the amount of leniency Street Fighter 6 gives in terms of the amount of time players have to hit all necessary inputs for a particular special maneuver.

Lily might be the most regularly affected character here and so we use her as an example, but many players have expressed this issue being present for most all fighters across the roster.

Certain sequences will naturally include a few different special moves throughout, and Lily’s bread and butter knock downs into her Wind Clad power up is something she’ll do in just about every round.

After you knock an opponent down with a Condor Spire (quarter circle forward + kick) you can instantly perform her Wind Clad buff (quarter circle backwards + punch) and safely store a stock, but all too often players will get other special moves instead of the aforementioned Wind Clad buff.

This appears to be because SF6 is actually too lenient with how many frames it will accept between each of the necessary inputs for specials, and thus when players accidentally hit an extra stray input or two with their control sticks, it’s enough to completely change the desired special move.

    Drive Rush and “Eating” Inputs

The other major complain people tend to have surrounds the Drive Rush mechanic, specifically because performing freezes the screen for a split second. It seems as though inputs can be eaten if they’re performed during or near this screen freeze, but that doesn’t exactly seem to be the case.

As explored in detail by The Big Nasty Kail, the game gets a little weird as the Drive Rush freeze interacts with buffer windows. To understand this, we need to first appreciate buffer windows.

Characters will enter locked out animations many times every round, as every time they perform an attack, are in block/hit stun, or perform a maneuver like dashing, jumping, or even standing up, there is a period where inputs are simply not allowed and thus will not manifest on screen.

All of these situations have a buffer window at the last few frames where, although a character is still stuck completing an animation, players can begin inputting their next maneuver so that their character will perform it the moment they’re free to do so.

This all takes place in the span of just a few sixtieths of a second, but muscle memory keys in with extreme precision and many have frustratedly found their characters not doing maneuvers inputted during buffer windows.

This seems to be because the Drive Rush screen freeze also slightly delays the timing of when a given buffer window begins, meaning that players are likely inputting command a tad too early.

It’d be one thing if this was a consistent happening that were predictable enough for players to adapt to while playing Street Fighter 6, but use of Drive Rush varies heavily, and thus consistency becomes all but impossible.

There are multiple other facets of the input discussion we get to in the full Talk and Block discussion below.

Check it out and be sure to share your thoughts and personal experiences in the comments (please copy them into the comments of the YouTube video directly on YouTube as well) as we continue to ask developers to roll out more quality of life fixes on the inputs front.

We’ve included timestamps if you’d like to jump around to particular points in our conversation. If you enjoy what you hear here, be sure to check out our Talk and Block playlist for similar discussion on other fighting game topics.

  • Download New Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro Wallpapers (Free)

Google recently launched the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro flagship phones, and they bring a lot to the table. From a new temperature sensor on the Pixel 8 Pro to a variety of AI-centric features like Best Take, Magic Eraser, and more, the Pixel 8 series is making headlines everywhere. In addition, they also bring a new AI-generated wallpaper feature to the table. However, both Pixel 8 models also feature a bunch of new high-definition Pixel-exclusive wallpapers that you can download on your non-Pixel phones right here.

For starters, the Google Pixel 8 and 8 Pro come with quite a few wallpapers to choose from. This is unlike the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro Max wallpapers, which were a handful. If you ask me, I really like the wallpapers on Google Pixel 8 phones. They are Mineral-themed and bring a unique palette of wallpapers to your device; surely a breath of fresh air. Moreover, both the phones have 8 wallpapers each. Let us have a look at them:

    New Pixel 8 Wallpapers

Starting off with the Google Pixel 8 colors, it comes in three colors – Hazel, Obsidian, and Rose. To go hand-in-hand with these colors, Google has included a couple of new wallpapers on its latest flagships. For example — there’s the Peony Light and Peony Dark wallpapers that are meant to go with the Rose color option.

Additionally, you also get to see Licorice Light and Licorice Dark wallpapers for the Obsidian color option. Whereas, the Haze Light and Haze Dark wallpapers go with the Hazel colorway of the Google Pixel 8. There is also a Jade Light and Jade Dark wallpaper, which has a white color scheme going all around.

    New Pixel 8 Pro Wallpapers

Moving on to the Google Pixel 8 Pro wallpapers, they really do complement each color option that you get for the device. There are three different color variants — Porcelain, Bay, and Obsidian. The Sky Dark and Sky Light wallpapers are found on the Bay Blue colorway, and they work really well.

On the other hand, the Porcelain Light and Porcelain Dark wallpapers complement the Porcelain color option. Meanwhile, the Licorice Light and Licorice Dark wallpapers are to go along with the Obsidian black color option for the Google Pixel 8 Pro. In addition, there’s a unique Jade Light and Jade Dark wallpaper for the Pixel 8 Pro too. However, unlike the ones for the Pixel 8, which have a white theme, these are covered in green here.

The mineral-based wallpapers add much-needed elegance to the premium flagships from Google’s camp. So, which of these wallpapers is your favorite? Let us know in the comments below.

  • How to Use it- Gizchina.com

Nearby sharing is a useful feature that was carried over from Windows 10 to Windows 11. It allows you to easily transfer files and items between different Windows PCs, like laptops or desktops. This feature uses Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to enable quick file sharing without the need for cloud services or USB drives.

Nearby sharing in Windows 11 is different from Google’s Nearby Share for Android devices. We’re focusing on the native Windows 11 feature. It’s easy to get started with, so let’s explore how to use it!

Please note that you will have to make sure both devices are connected to the same network for Nearby Sharing to work. For example, you can either connected both desktops to the same Wi-Fi or you can also connect them via Bluetooth.

Steps to Activate Nearby Sharing in Windows 11

To begin using Nearby sharing in Windows 11, you’ll have to open the Windows 11 settings app. Make sure to enable both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi for this feature to work.

    • Connect your main PC to a Wi-Fi network by clicking on the Wi-Fi or Network icon in the system tray, which closer to the clock.
    • Go to the main PC from which you want to share files.
    • Next, open the Windows 11 Settings app. To Quickly do this, press the Windows Kay together with the “I“.
    • Click on System and see t Nearby Sharing from the next page.

    • If you want to share only with devices using your Microsoft Account, turn on the switch for “My devices only.”
    • If you want to share with everyone nearby, regardless of the account being used, turn on the switch for “Everyone nearby.”
    • To change the location where the shared files are saved, click the “Change” button, choose the location, and then select “Select Folder.”
    • Use the same steps above to turn on Nearby Sharing on your second PC.

For added convenience, it’s a good idea to add Nearby Sharing Quick Actions. To do this, click on the Wi-Fi and Sound icons or press Ctrl and A to open Quick Actions, choose the edit button (the pencil icon), and select “Add.” Then, drag to add the Nearby Sharing icon. This allows you to easily toggle it on and off when you want to share or not.

Steps to Share Files and Web Pages Using Nearby Sharing in Windows 11

After setting up Nearby sharing, you can easily share a file or a webpage between your PCs. Here’s how to do it.

    5. On the computer that’s receiving the link, click “Open link” in the notification to open the shared content in Microsoft Edge.

How to troubleshoot and Fix Windows 11 Nearby Sharing Issues

If you encounter problems with Nearby sharing, it might be related to issues with Bluetooth or your Wi-Fi and network connections. You can search the Windows 11 Start Menu for “Find and fix problems with Bluetooth devices” to address Bluetooth problems. For network issues, you can search for “Find and fix network problems” and launch the top resulting app. If all else fails, you can consider sharing your files via email or using cloud storage as an alternative.

  • The sexiest gender swapped Jason Voorhees cosplay you could ever want to help celebrate Friday the 13th

In some parts of the world, folks can feel a fresh chill in the air right now. We’re officially in the spookiest month of the year, but this October has added an extra layer of spooky to the mix by having its own Friday the 13th — which is today.

Whenever Friday the 13th rolls around, it’s not uncommon to see people sharing their favorite content related to the legendary Friday the 13th movie series featuring classic slasher Jason Voorhees. It’s us, we’re people, and to honor Jason and his playable appearance in Mortal Kombat X back in 2015, today we’re taking a look at some of the best gender swapped Jason Voorhees Friday the 13th cosplay we could find on the internet.

Before we get into it, though, first let’s talk a little back story. Back on May 5, 2015, Jason Voorhees of Friday the 13th fame joined the Mortal Kombat X roster as a DLC character.

That installment of Mortal Kombat featured several Horror icons as guest characters, including Leatherface from A Texas Chainsaw Massacre and the Xenomorph from 1979’s Alien.

In Mortal Kombat X, Jason was a tank character who could walk right through oncoming attacks, resurrect himself, and slash foes with powerful machete strikes. His Fatalities even paid homage to some of his kills from the films, including the iconic sleeping bag finisher.

All of that having been said, Jason isn’t really a character that exudes sexiness. However, in 2014 premium figure company Kotobukiya created a Freddy vs. Jason series that depicted both slashers as sexy anime girls, and that rendition is the inspiration for pretty much all of the cosplay we have here today.

Kicking things off with a veteran in the cosplay game, we have Danielle Vedovelli’s incredible Jason cosplay. Danie has been featured here on the site several times, and these Friday the 13th cosplay images are oldies, but goodies.

Danielle’s interpretation of Jason follows the Kotobukiya statue very closely. This can be identified by traits such as the hockey mask hanging on the side of her head and the tattered pants.

Needless to say, Vedovelli’s cosplay is spot on here as she slays (in more ways than one) with this spooky getup.

Nichameleon brings another gorgeous Jason Voorhees cosplay to the table, but also adds in a bit of lightheartedness to the mix.

The costume is spot on, and while you’ll definitely see the sexy side of this Jason up front, scrolling through the images on Instagram will present a handful of silly shots of this cosplayer simply having a great time with the photo shoot.

Regina_cosplay’s Jason Voorhees shows a little more skin than the others, and on top of being beautiful, absolutely crushes the details in the tattered clothing.

Numi R’s Friday the 13th cosplay comes off as sweet, but looks can be deceiving. You’ll be lured in by the beauty, but keep an eye on that big axe in this cosplayer’s hand…

We close out with another great Jason Voorhees cosplay from LaineyCat. This depiction also follows the Kotobukiya design, and what I really like about Lainey’s is the use of a prop knife that gives it more of a classic Halloween costume feel bringing on all of the nostalgia.
