Tekken 8 is still a couple months out from launch, and it feels as though there’s quite a lot we don’t yet know about the final package.
As part of their continued IGN First coverage, the publication has now revealed the first look at the new Arcade Quest mode in action.
The footage appears to pick up after the initial opening and introductions with the avatars shown standing around and talking about visiting a place called Gong, which is apparently a beginner’s arcade that just got the new release of Tekken 8.
Following a brief cutscene upon entering the arcade, players are gifted a handful of customization items for both the avatar and HUD including a new health gauge, name plate and baseball cap.
Max gives the player a tutorial teaching how to use the new Heat mechanics before challenging them to a quick match to test out their new skills, which rewards experience points and in-game money.
It appears players will rank up similarly to online play with the ability to challenge seemingly anyone standing around the arcade to try and get promotions.
Interestingly, each character will have separate ranks when used with the story apparently focusing on the one that’s the highest level.
There’s of course a pretty in-depth avatar customization suite to make your little guy look how you want as well as change up the UI.
So far Arcade Quest is looking like Street Fighter 6’s Battle Hub turned into a single-player mode made to help players learn how to get better at Tekken.
It seems, at least at the beginning, aimed at newcomers, so we’re interested to see what this has to offer for more seasoned fighting game players.
Also, there’s no voice acting, so prepared to do quite a bit of reading too.
And remember, this isn’t the main story mode for Tekken 8 either, which we’ve yet to really see.
you can check out over 16 minutes of Arcade Quest below thanks to IGN.

Microsoft’s LinkedIn has announced that it will lay off 668 employees across its engineering, talent, and finance teams in the second round of job cuts this year. The cuts affect more than 3% of LinkedIn’s staff of more than 20,000. The company said it will remain committed to giving full support to impacted employees during the transition.

Reasons for the Layoffs
Microsoft has cited a slowdown in hiring along with a decline in advertising spending as headwinds for LinkedIn, although it continues to add new members to its community of 950 million. LinkedIn makes money through advertisement sales and by charging for subscriptions to recruiting and sales professionals who use the network to find suitable job candidates. In the fourth quarter of its fiscal 2023 year, LinkedIn’s revenue increased 5% year-on-year, compared to 10% in the previous quarter.
LinkedIn’s Response
“Talent changes are a difficult, but necessary and regular part of managing our business,” LinkedIn said in a statement. “While we are adapting our organizational structures and streamlining our decision-making, we are continuing to invest in strategic priorities for our future and to ensure we continue to deliver value for our members and customers,” the company added. LinkedIn keeps growing and said its annual revenue surpassed $15 billion for the first time in the fiscal year that ended in June.

Impact on the Tech Industry
According to employment firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas, the tech sector has laid off 141,516 staff in the first half of the year. This is a huge increase compared with about 6,000 people a year ago. Layoffs in the tech industry this year have impacted nearly every major firm including Google, Amazon, Yahoo, Meta, and Zoom.
LinkedIn is positioned as an Internet professional social networking site and makes money by selling ads. It also charges fees to recruiting and sales personnel who use the network to find suitable candidates. Back in May, the company conducted a round of layoffs. At the time, it said it decided to cut 716 positions across its sales, operations and support teams. The reason for the layoff is to streamline its operations and eliminate layers in order to make decisions faster.
Final Words
Microsoft’s LinkedIn has announced that it will lay off 668 staff across its engineering, talent, and finance teams. This is the second round of job cuts this year. The reasons for the layoffs include a slowdown in hiring and a decline in advertising spending. LinkedIn has responded by stating that talent changes are a necessary part of managing their business. It said it will continue to invest in strategic priorities for its future. The layoffs are part of a larger trend in the tech industry. There has been a big increase in job cuts this year.
Believe it or not, Dragon Ball FighterZ is rapidly approaching its sixth anniversary since launch, and the monumental game is technically not done yet.
Bandai Namco has announced that the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour is returning in early 2024 again featuring DBFZ, so perhaps there we’ll finally get an update on what’s going on with the whole rollback netcode situation.
According to their announcement, the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2024 is set to take place January 27–28 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in California.
Once again, it appears the Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour Finals and Last Chance Qualifier will be going down at the event, which provides the perfect chance for an update from Producer Tomoko Hiroki.
After years of begging from players, Bamco finally announced that FighterZ would be getting rollback netcode at Evo 2022 over a year ago though it’s obviously still not here.
They were originally supposed to roll out a rollback beta test for the Steam version this past Spring, but that seems to have been indefinitely delayed.
Bandai Namco didn’t even have anything to say at Evo this year about it and instead put out a statement asking players to wait a little longer.
DRAGON BALL Games Battle Hour 2024#battlehour 2024 will be held at Los Angeles Convention Center! Come experience the excitement on Jan. 27-28 (PST)!
— DRAGON BALL Games Battle Hour 2024 Official (@db_eventpj) October 16, 2023
But again, it’s been well over a year at this point with little to know concrete information as to what’s coming when.
What we do know is that aside from the PC, rollback will not even be coming to the existing versions of DBFZ and will instead be a feature included in the revealed PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game, which are probably still waiting on rollback to be released.
Considering how relatively quickly Arc System Works was able to retrofit rollback into their other titles like Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, BlazBlue: Central Fiction, BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle and even Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2, it appears Dragon Ball is giving them much more trouble.
The most logical conclusion is likely technical issues with having to keep track of up to six characters on screen at once even though other games have figured out how to manage that going back over a decade.
Unless we get a random update out of the blue, it’s looking like the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour is where we’ll most likely be hearing more about rollback for FighterZ.
Players interested in signing up for the DBFZ World Tour LCQ tournament can do so starting November 2, and more information can be found on the official website.

Fighting game mods open the door for fans to create something really cool with their own hands, but some decide to go in the direction of absurdity that can end up being even more entertaining.
We recently stumbled across an absolutely cursed mod for The King of Fighters 15 that turns Ryuji Yamazaki into a maid that cooks harder than it has any right to.
The mod was put together by Vislual but was actually based on an equally cursed piece of fan art from Nyatto over two years ago.
Yamazaki in cute pink bows, thigh-high socks and a maid apron is so not him, but he’s also crazy enough that you also can’t put it past him to mess with everyone more.
There’s just something about it that tickles the brain with its absolute absurdity and makes me laugh more than it should when seeing him in motion.
A maid outfit may arguably look better on fighters like Kyo, Iori and Shun’ei as far as the KOF guys go, but Yamazaki pulls it off in a way I’m not sure anyone else can.
OpenAI is finally rolling out DALL-E 3 widely to ChatGPT Plus users worldwide. The new text-to-image model by OpenAI can understand textual nuances and abstract concepts, allowing you to translate them into accurate images. Last month, it announced the next-generation DALL-E 3 model that would rival the best AI image generators. And we have finally got the access. So without any delay, let’s go ahead and learn how to use Dall-E 3 in ChatGPT to generate AI images. We have also added a method to use Dall-E 3 for free.
Use Dall-E 3 with GPT-4 in ChatGPT (Paid)
1. First, open ChatGPT (visit) and sign into your OpenAI account. You must be subscribed to ChatGPT Plus (costs $20 per month).
2. Next, move to the “GPT-4” model and select “DALL-E 3” from the drop-down menu.
3. Once you have done that, enter a prompt in ChatGPT to generate AI images using the DALL-E 3 model.
4. It will automatically create detailed prompts using GPT-4 and generate images right there. These look beautiful, right?
5. Here are some of the prompts I tried and DALL-E 3 has done a remarkable job writing the prompts and generating images from them. You can try some Midjourney prompts and see how the results compare between the two models.
6. Keep in mind that in some cases, DALL-E3 throws the content policy violation error and refuses to generate images, especially if you are trying to create images based on copyright art or violence.
Use Dall-E 3 on Bing Image Creator for Free
If you are not subscribed to ChatGPT Plus, you can still make AI images using DALL-E3. For this, you can use Bing Image Creator to access DALL-E 3 for free. You just need to sign in with your Microsoft account and can start creating AI images using DALL-E 3.
Furthermore, you can also access DALL-E 3 in Bing Chat for free. Keep in mind that it allows you to quickly generate 99 images in a day, and the process will be a tad slow after that. So, here are the steps you need to follow.
1. Go ahead and open Bing Image Creator (visit). Then, log in to your Microsoft account.
2. Next, enter a short or detailed prompt, and it will quickly generate AI images using the DALL-E 3 model.
3. Similar to ChatGPT, it creates three orfour images at once.
So this is how you can use DALL-E 3 in ChatGPT and Bing Image Creator to generate AI images. In my brief testing, I found the new image model to be quite powerful, and it easily ranks among the best Midjourney alternatives. In portraits though, Midjourney still seems to have an upper hand.
Finally, I found the content policy framework for DALL-E 3 is too strict and blocks even innocuous prompts. In its technical paper, OpenAI has explained that it declines “attempts to generate an image in the style of a living artist.” Nevertheless, you should definitely check out DALL-E 3’s image generation capability.

After unveiling the Meteor Lake processors intended for laptops last month, Intel has finally announced its new 14th Gen processor lineup for desktops today! Back at the Innovation 2023 event, the company showcased the 14th-Gen desktop processors prior to the keynote. But today, the company has shared all the details for the new 14th-generation desktop processors. That said, let’s have a look at the new lineup, discuss its various features, and also tell you about the availability details of the Intel 14th Gen Raptor Lake Refresh desktop CPUs.
Intel 14th Gen Desktop CPUs: Specifications & Features
The new Intel 14th Gen desktop processors are based on a Raptor Lake Refresh architecture. Intel says this new processor lineup delivers the world’s best desktop experience, thanks to many of Intel’s 14th-generation CPU features. Intel Application Optimization (APO) is a new feature that will be pre-enabled at launch for many motherboards. The new APO feature exists as a software policy within Intel’s Dynamic Tuning Technology framework and users will experience dynamic thread allocation from the processor based on the tasks they are currently running.
Next, Intel advertises the Intel Core 14th Gen processors as the ultimate gaming platform, touting their top-end i9-14900K variant brings up to 23% better gaming performance as compared to the Ryzen 9 7950X3D inselect titles. The Core i9-14900K comes with 24 cores and 32 threads, and Intel is proud to say that this new i9 can boost to 6.0GHz out of the box! The Intel 14th Gen CPU variants that are launching today have been detailed below:

If you notice, the Core i7-14700K variant is one of the more interesting CPUs from the bunch. This is because the 14th Gen Core i7 desktop CPU enjoys a 25% increase in core count, which Intel says will provide “significant gains” in various multi-threaded workloads.
Which motherboards are compatible with Intel’s 14th-generation desktop processors? The existing LGA 1700 motherboards including the Z690, Z790, B660, and others are compatible with Intel 14th Gen processors after a manual BIOS update.
Intel Core 14th-Gen i9-14900K Desktop CPU
Talking about other new features, Intel has released a new overclocking feature known as Intel AI Assist. This exists within the Intel XTU software, which we have shown how to use in our dedicated overclocking guide. We will definitely be using this feature along with APO that we mentioned above in our upcoming Intel Core i9-14900K and Core i5-14600K reviews, so stay tuned.
Lastly, the new Intel 14th Gen desktop processors based on Raptor Lake Refresh architecture feature enhanced connectivity features. Now, these CPUs have discrete support for WiFi-7 and Bluetooth 5.4,and supposedly the upcoming Thunderbolt 5 connector supporting 80 Gbps bandwidth will also be supported on these CPUs.
Intel 14th Gen Desktop CPUs: Availability
As confirmed by Intel, the latest 14th Gen desktop processors will be available to buy starting from October 17, 2023. The new 14th-gen desktop CPUs will be in stock at various retail outlets. In addition, these desktop processors will also be available through OEM partners soon. As we move closer to the start of 2024, we should see these new desktop CPUs become available in the global markets quite widely.
In an official statement, Roger Chandler, Vice President and General Manager, Creator PC and Workstation Solutions at Intel, said, “the introduction of our performance hybrid architecture, Intel has consistently raised the bar for desktop performance.” The company first introduced the hybrid architecture back with the launch of 12th Gen Alder Lake processors. Since then, the company has innovated upon this architecture. “With our Intel Core 14th Generation processors, we’re showing once again why enthusiasts turn to Intel for the best desktop experience available on the market today,” he added.
What are your thoughts on Intel’s new 14th-gen desktop processors? Does the Raptor Lake Refresh entice you to upgrade your CPU in 2023, especially the fact that these processors are based on the same socket (LGA 1700)? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
