Huawei made big news when they launched their Mate 60 series phones, featuring the powerful Kirin 9000s chip. It is intriguing that despite facing restrictions from the United States, Huawei managed to incorporate 5G-capable chips made in China. They even incorporated parts like SK Hynix RAM, which wasn’t supposed to happen due to those restrictions.
The US Government Plans to Restrict Exports of Computer Chips to China
Now, there’s a new report from Reuters suggesting that the U.S. government, under President Biden, is considering more sanctions to stop the export of certain computer chips to China. These chips are mainly used for artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
The report mentions that AI chips will be the primary focus of these new sanctions. To do this, the U.S. government plans to set specific rules based on how these chips work. The idea is to make it harder to send these chips to China.
It’s important to note that these new rules won’t affect chips used in everyday devices like phones and laptops. However, U.S. companies will need to tell the U.S. Commerce Department if they want to sell their most powerful chips to Chinese companies. Then, the Commerce Department will carefully check each case to determine if it could be a threat to national security.
Additionally, the U.S. government is thinking about creating a new measure called a “performance density parameter.” This measure is meant to make it harder for people to find ways to send these chips to China in ways that go against the rules.
Gizchina News of the week
In simple terms, the U.S. government wants to stop certain types of computer chips, especially those used for AI, from being sent to China. This is because they believe these chips could pose a risk to the country’s security. Everyday items like phones won’t be affected, but the most powerful chips will face stricter rules. The U.S. is also trying to come up with new rules to make it even harder to get around these restrictions.
US Chips Used in Consumer Electronics Can be Shipped to China
The new restrictions on semiconductors may not totally affect chips used for consumer electronics. However, U.S. semiconductor manufacturers will have to notify the U.S. Commerce Department when they fulfill orders for their most powerful products going to Chinese companies. The Commerce Department will review each case to determine if these chip exports could be a national security concern. Additionally, the U.S. is working on a “performance density parameter” for chip exports to prevent potential circumventions of restrictions on chip exports to China.
Tekken 8 is looking like it’s shaping up to take 3D fighters into the next generation, and we’re finally starting to see a lot more of what the final package will have to offer.
Producer Michael Murray recently sat down with IGN to showcase the first footage of the Fight Lounge that’ll serve as the open lobbies for Tekken 8.
At first glance, it’s hard not to think about Street Fighter 6’s Battle Hub, but Bandai Namco is apparently looking to provide a more open area with more activities to do.
Moreover, the lobbies were built to harken back to the arcade era with the team incorporating some of their favorite aspects of multiple game centers from around the world.
“It’s kind of like a love letter to arcade culture,” said Murray via IGN. “I’m old enough where I was able to experience that firsthand at various locations. First, when I studied abroad in Japan, I went to all the arcades and all the titles, all the fighting games you could ever want to play were there. It was amazing.
Each had their own unique atmosphere. So the aesthetic look of it, you know that that made its way into this. The director, Nakatsu, and myself, we looked at various major arcades, even one of ours in London, the Namco one, which was really impressive.”
Inside the arcade area, there’s a multitude of cabinets to sit down at for matches or to spectate others (or apparently even fight their ghosts if busy) while the walls are decorated with some other Namco nostalgia favorites like Pac-Man as well as things like pinball machines and token exchanges.
It seems players will interact with the Fight Lounge by running around with the same custom avatar used in Tekken 8’s new Arcade Quest mode, which was also recently shown off in more detail as well.
Outside the Battle Area is Iron Fist Outfitters where avatars can be further customized by purchasing items with the in-game Fight Money earned.
Heading to the outdoors from there, you’ll find the beach area which includes some spots to chill, but more importantly, a dedicated section for Tekken Ball.
Murray also goes into more detail regarding their new approach to Ghost Battles by showing how the AI can more quickly learn to play like the individual by just analyzing a match or two to start.
He confirms you’ll be able to challenge the ghosts of other players you meet in the Fight Lounge, but doesn’t say if that applies to searching for users outside of the mode too.
One interesting thing to note they don’t really mention is that you can see if a player is on console or PC with crossplay given the icons by their names.
You can check out more of the new big feature for Tekken 8 in IGN’s video below.
Single-player games generally are pretty concise length-wise, as you mostly follow a linear experience focusing on specific characters in the story. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is no different, aiming to offer a mesmerizing story in a concise game length. While its prequels had a modest runtime of 17 hours, the natural question one might have is its successor’s game length. After all, the game launches on a weekday, and you might have taken a day off to complete it. Whether you are swinging through NYC or fighting the various villains in-game, we answer your questions – how long is Marvel’s Spider-Man 2? So, read on to learn the total length of the Spider-Man 2 game.
How Long is the Spider-Man 2 Game?
Since we wrapped up our Spider-Man 2 review, we have been swinging around New York City fighting criminals. So, we have the answer to the runtime length of Spider-Man 2 based on our playthrough. The main story of this game is only slightly longer than the first game’s main story.
After finishing our review, we learned that it would take most players 18-19 hours to complete the main story of Spider-Man 2. This is just an hour or two longer than the first Spider-Man game.
Now, Spider-Man 2 has numerous missions and side quests for you to complete. These can be something as simple as Marko’s memories or some tech pieces you need to upgrade your suit tech. If you start doing the side quests, the game’s playtime increases to approximately 25-26 hours, along with main and side quests. That means the total time to beat the game increases by 7-8 hours.
However, if you are someone who likes to sit down and complete every single side quest, task, and all trophy-relation missions (including the Platinum Trophy), you are probably going to need another 5-8 hours. That means the completionist run for Spider-Man 2 on PS5 will take you around 30-35 hours. Since this is a single-player experience, the runtime is justified and not over the top.
Story Type
Time To Beat
Main Story
18-19 hours
Main Story + Side Missions
25-26 hours
Main Story Average Time (even if you take it slow)
20-21 hours
Completionist
30-35 hours
The runtime length for Spider-Man 2 matches the claims of the senior director, Ryan Smith. In an interview with VG247, Smith said that the runtime is around the “same ballpark as the first game,” which matches our playthrough. 2018’s Spider-Man takes 17 hours to finish, whereas Spider-Man 2 takes 18-19 hours. Insomniac wanted to deliver a tighter experience with memorable moments, which is true in the journey you take as the spidey duo.

Samsung has recently unrolled the curtains on the flagship Exynos 2400. This chipset will be powering some of the Samsung Galaxy S24 models next year. Besides that, Samsung has also been working on some mid-range Exynos SoCs. That includes the Samsung Exynos 1480.
At the core, the Exynos 1480 is the successor to the Exynos 1380, which powered some mid-range devices such as the Galaxy A54. But this time, Samsung is making things interesting. It has equipped the chipset with an AMD GPU. To compare, the Exynos 1380 came with a Mali GPU.
Online Benchmark Confirms AMD GPU Inside the Samsung Exynos 1480
The Samsung Exynos 1480 has just been benchmarked with Geekbench 5. However, the benchmark was not on a consumer device. This is expected as the Galaxy A55, which will be the first smartphone with the chipset, isn’t due for another six months or so.
But the good news is that we did get a good number of details on the Samsung Exynos 1480 chipset from the benchmark results. To start with, the SoC packs eight cores. Four of them are clocked at 2.75 GHz, while the other four are at 2.05 GHz. In comparison, Exynos 1380 had four cores clocked at 2.4GHz and the other four at 2GHz.
What’s more important is that the Exynos 1480 features the Xclipse 530 GPU. For those wondering, Xclipse is the brand name Samsung utilizes for the GPUs based on the graphics architecture of AMD. The first Xclipse GPU, the Xclipse 920, debuted with the Exynos 2200 last year.
The successor of that GPU, the Xclipse 940, came out with the Exynos 2400. That said, it’s pretty clear that Samsung will keep the 9xx series GPU reserved for the flagship SoCs. On the other hand, the mid-range SoCs, such as the Exynos 1480, get Xclipse 5xx GPU.
Gizchina News of the week
More About the AMD Xclipse 530 GPU
The Xclipse 940 found in the Exynos 2400 utilizes AMD RDNA 3 architecture. It’s an upgrade to the RDNA 2 architecture found in the GPU of Exynos 2400. However, the GPU of the Samsung Exynos 1480 won’t take advantage of this advanced GPU architecture. It will use the RDNA 2 architecture.
Considering that, it’s safe to say that the performance of the Xclipse 530 will be comparatively lower than the flagship Xclipse 940. But the good news is that the Samsung Exynos 2200 had support for ray tracing. For those wondering, ray tracing is an advanced rendering technique that can produce incredibly realistic lighting effects.
As the GPU of the Exynos 1480 utilizes the same GPU architecture of the Exynos 2200, there’s a chance of us seeing mid-range Samsung phones with ray tracing support. But if Samsung plans to pack the Xclipse 530 with low-powered GPU cores, it may not debut with ray tracing support.
After all, ray tracing is extremely demanding. Even some of the moderately powerful desktop graphics cards don’t have support for it. But the fact that Samsung is bringing AMD GPU to mid-range chipsets is a big deal. Even if it doesn’t come with ray tracing support, the Exynos 1480 has the potential to be a great mid-range gaming chipset.
On that note, the benchmark results of the Samsung Exynos 1480 are promising too. The SoC scored 882 points in the single-core test of Geekbench 5. On the other hand, it got 2808 in the multi-core test. To compare 776 in single-core and 2599 in multi-core tests. And the performance could get further enhanced as Samsung refines the CPU before releasing the Galaxy A55.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is a much greater step beyond any superhero game we have played before. If you’ve read your Spider-Man 2 review, you already know what we are talking about. However, besides the grander story, a considerable upgrade has also been made to all enemies and other elements, making things a bit tougher. If you’ve just opened the game and are starting out, you might need a helping hand. After completing our playthrough, we have compiled the 10 best Spider-Man 2 tips and tricks so you may begin your journey right and continue it correctly. So without further ado, let’s begin.
1. Use the Web Wings Often
Spider-Man 2 shakes things up regarding traversal by locking fast travel behind district progress. However, that’s because the game gives players what it calls “Web Wings” super early into the game. True to their name, these wings let our spideys easily fly around the city and gain new heights.
Since you will be doing a lot of swinging throughout your time in NYC, we suggest you use the new Web Wings as often as possible to get to places quickly. All you need to do to use them is gain enough height by swinging and pressing the Triangle button on your controller to open them up. Dynamically manage your web wings and swinging, and you will be at your missions in no time.
2. Use Super Slingshot from Anywhere
When I started out with my playthrough, I loved the Super Slingshot skill. The ability to pack tension through webs and pierce the air was amazing. However, I initially thought this was only possible through fixed slingshot locations I found on the map. I quickly discovered that was not the case when I started launching from any building.
If you have the same confusion, then go up to any building or even the road and learn to use Super Slingshot in Spider-Man 2 via the guide linked here. Congratulations, you are now able to slingshot launch from anywhere. Make sure to pair it up with Web Wings for maximum ease of traversal throughout NYC.
3. Invest in the Right Skills and Equally
Spider-Man 2 comes with a plethora of new skills, including a new shared tree for Peter and Miles. Since the game is quite generous at level progression, you gain access to skill points easily. However, if you are as lazy as me sometimes, you might put up getting new skills for later. I would advise thinking the opposite way and being proactive about your choices.
As soon as you have racked up enough points, head on over to the Skills tab and create the right combination that suits you. As a last note, we also suggest investing in Peter and Miles equally so your playthrough of both is as easy as pie.
4. Sometimes Stealth Is Better
In our Spider-Man 2 review, we have specifically mentioned that the AI is tougher this time around. Furthermore, it also tends to surround you if you go fighting it with brute force. While a seasoned player can handle it, newbies just might have trouble. For those cases and more, Insomniac has offered multiple approaches to the same situation, including a nice stealth mechanic.
Thankfully, being stealthy in Spider-Man 2 is easy. Simply stay out of sight and up high and take out enemies through quiet takedowns one by one (much like the 2018 game). You can even use the web line gadget to create routes above the AI. So the next time you think you won’t be able to handle a fight, go the quiet way.
5. Parry Enemies Often
If, at the end of the day, you find yourself facing enemies head-on, then don’t panic. There are multiple foe types in Spider-Man 2, including some that can only be parried or dodged. However, you can only dodge the enemies for so long. To help make parrying easier, Spider-Man 2 displays helpful color rings above the enemy’s heads when it’s time.
Simply wait for the rings to turn red and immediately press “L1.” This will cause Spider-Man 2 to push back the enemy and give you a quick opening to launch your own offensive. Remember to parry as often as possible to keep the tide in your favor and defeat them all.
6. Take out the Guns First
While parrying will get you quite far, something must be said about the pesky enemies atop towers with guns. Spider-Man 1 had the same enemy type, and they were annoying then, too. This is made worse by the RPG firing bad guys that all but eliminate you if you can’t dodge the rockets. However, to avoid that, I suggest going for the gun-wielding enemies first and eliminating them.
This will ensure you can face other AI without any interruptions. To take out the guns first, simply web them up and throw them around or simply snatch the guns from their hands, and you are golden.
7. Get Another Focus Bar
Just like the previous titles, Spider-Man 2 comes with a Focus Bar that can either be used to heal yourself or perform a finisher on an enemy. However, the game only starts us off with a single bar, which results in having to manage between the above choices. However, as you progress through the game, you can make your life easier by unlocking another bar.
Since the game won’t tell you to do it, you must do it yourself. For that, head over to our dedicated Spider-Man 2 suit tech guide and learn how. Once you’re done, it becomes easier to heal and perform finishers at once.
8. Don’t Forget Your Gadgets
It’s easy, especially in the heat of the moment, to forget that besides their skills and abilities, the Spider-Men have some cool gadgets they can use. Innovative as they are, Peter and Miles have created a wide assortment of these gadgets that you can use both from a distance or close-up.
So, while gadgets like web grabbers are good for crowd control, the Sonic Grenade stops pesky enemies in their tracks by stunning them. As such, don’t forget to use the best gadgets in Spider-Man 2 to gain a tactical advantage.
9. There’s No Shame in Lowering Difficulty
I have no qualms about Spider-Man 2’s increased difficulty. However, there is a fine line between challenging and frustrating, and you want to make sure you are on the right side of it. So, if you find yourself often raging at the game, then it’s time to tone down the difficulty.
Head on over to Settings -> Gameplay -> Challenge Level and toggle the difficulty to your desired setting. We recommend “Friendly” if it’s too much and “Amazing” for a balanced experience.
Changing the difficulty won’t affect anything else except how the enemies react to you. So, if you’re worried about the storyline changing because of this somehow, don’t be.
10. Above All, Take it Slow
Besides everything else, Spider-Man 2 is a beautiful and vivid narrative adventure. As such, the game contains a story that slowly weaves and unravels itself. If you rush it, you will most likely miss important events or simply not be able to absorb with the intensity they were meant with. So, while it might be tempting to do a speedrun and gain all the powers, we suggest you take it slow and enjoy the ride to take in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 fully.
We hope the above Spider-Man 2 tips and tricks help you make the most of this game. Do remember that depending on how you play it, your mileage may vary. Nonetheless, we found it quite an amazing ride. Have you already finished the game and got any tips we should add? Drop them in the comments below!

AI features can make a phone completely different. Take the recently released Google Pixel 8 series, for example. It doesn’t have the latest and greatest hardware. However, Google has packed it with AI features, which makes it better than the current flagships in most aspects. And Oppo plans to do something similar with its future phones.
Oppo is ramping up its overall investment in AI. The decision comes in the form of an ambitious bid to bring the power of LLMs directly to smartphones. But the Chinese giant plans to only work with its own homegrown language model. That’s the AndesGPT.
By running the large language model locally, Oppo wants to make AI chat features more responsive and reliable.
Oppo Wants to Make Its Phones Understand the Customers Better
The head of Oppo Research Institute, Jason Liao, is all-in on the idea. In a recent media briefing held in Singapore, he confirmed the company’s enthusiasm for the plan. He also explained how the integration could reshape the smartphone experience.
Gizchina News of the week
However, Oppo has a big challenge ahead. Locally running AI services on smartphones is not an easy task. The team at the research institute needs to do a lot to figure out how to make the integration feel seamless. Of course, the researchers also have to do a lot of groundwork on configuring the phones with enough computing muscles to run the model.
Nonetheless, the move towards localized AI is a pivotal decision for Oppo. With it, the brand will set itself apart in a market that’s full of fierce competitors such as Xiaomi, Huawei, Vivo, and Xiaomi. These competitors are all in their own AI journeys.
And it’s worth noting that the vision of Oppo doesn’t just include an AI chatbot. Additionally, the brand wants to delve into computer vision tech. Through this, the brand wants to bring out phones that see and understand the world around you. And with this, its smartphones will eventually understand the consumers better.
Extending the capability of WhatsApp’s multi-device functionality, which allows you to use the messaging platform on multiple devices, here’s something that is bound to excite you. It’s the ability to use two WhatsApp accounts simultaneously and on the same phone. Here are the details to know.
Multi-Account Support for WhatsApp
Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg has announced that you can now use two WhatsApp accounts simultaneously, so switching between the two can be easy. This is similar to how you can juggle between two Instagram accounts. This way, you can easily manage work and personal lives, or different social circles. This feature has been in development since June and was spotted in a WhatsApp for Android beta update.
One thing to keep in mind is that you will need two phone numbers to use two WhatsApp accounts on a device. Both numbers need to have an active SIM. With the introduction of the new feature, you will now see a new ‘Add Account‘ option next to your name under the Settings.
You can tap on this option and register the secondary WhatsApp account by authenticating using an OTP (the option to use Passkey is also rolling out now and should be available for all soon). You will just have to follow the on-screen steps to complete the process.
It is revealed that there will be different privacy and notification settings for both WhatsApp accounts and you can choose the ones you like. The multi-account WhatsApp feature will roll out to Android users in the coming months. There’s no word on when it will reach iOS users.
Meanwhile, there’s already the ability to use WhatsApp on multiple devices, and here’s how you can do so with ease. Also, what are your thoughts on the new ability of multiple WhatsApp accounts? Do you think it is useful? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
