  • Apple’s AirPods Lineup to See Major Changes Next Year

    Apple AirPods 3rd Generation

Apple recently introduced a new version of the AirPods Pro 2 and the only new change is a USB-C port. However, we can expect major changes for the AirPods lineup next year and this could lead to the introduction of a new model too. If you are looking for a major upgrade, you should keep on reading!

    AirPods 2024 Roadmap Leaked

According to the latest report by Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman, Apple might revamp its standard AirPods lineup with the launch of two models of the AirPods 4 next year. One will be more entry-level while the other one will borrow some ‘Pro-ness‘ from the AirPods Pro with the presence of noise-cancellation. The higher-end model of the two is also expected to get a new charging case with speakers for Find My alerts, much like the AirPods Pro.

Both will carry a USB Type-C port and a design language of the AirPods 3, which is a mixture of both the AirPods 2 and AirPods Pro 2 design. There will be a short stem taken from the latter and the open-air design of the former. We can expect a more comfortable fit with the two but don’t expect silicon ear tips.

It is also revealed that the AirPods 2 and the AirPods 3 will be discontinued to be replaced by the new AirPods 4 models. Their prices could be similar to that of the AirPods 2 and the AirPods 3. The intention is to make the AirPods lineup less confusing. Plus, the AirPods 3 didn’t perform well as people often find themselves either going for the lesser-priced AirPods 2 (as there wasn’t much of a difference between the two) or the higher-end AirPods Pro 2 in favor of ANC. The prominent changes will help people make a better choice!

    airpods max vs airpods pro

Apple could also launch the next-gen AirPods Pro Max, which hasn’t seen any new candidates since it first launched back in 2020. So, this could be pretty exciting. As for the AirPods Pro, there won’t be a new member in 2024 but you can expect a new model in 2025 with a new chip and design, along with new health features.

Since this is just a projection, we don’t know if this will turn into an actual product. Some revamps will be welcomed but we will have to wait until Apple releases official details on this. Meanwhile, there’s still something to look forward to; the ‘Scary Fast’ event is upon us, which will witness the launch of new MacBooks. Stay tuned for updates related to the same and if you have anything to share about the leaked AirPods roadmap, do chime in the comments below!

  • How to Improve Your Gaming Experience On Your Setup

There’s no denying that you can’t have a good gaming experience without a good gaming setup. And for that, you need to equip your gaming station with powerful hardware. But a powerful gaming setup is only the first half of the story. You also need to optimize the setup to improve your gaming experience on it.

Now, in the case of optimizing your setup to improve your gaming experience, you need to keep a few considerations in mind. These factors range from the peripherals to furniture to lighting. In this guide, you can learn everything there is regarding these elements.

Enhance Your Gaming Experience with Better Peripherals

While better hardware leads to better gaming performance from your setup, good peripherals improve your gaming performance. However, due to the rising cost of gaming hardware, peripherals are often overlooked. But there’s really no need to spend too much on peripherals.

    Gaming peripherals

The market already has a good number of budget-friendly keyboards and affordable gaming mice. Also, it’s quite important to prioritize the audio peripheral, as sound can make a big difference in improving your gaming experience.

That said, when it comes to choosing a gaming mouse, do consider your priorities. Want better accuracy and better response? Make sure to get a mouse with a precise sensor. Like the idea of getting enhanced comfort while typing? Choose a keyboard that prioritizes ergonomics.

Better Monitors Can Hugely Improve Your Gaming Experience

Although it’s normal for gamers to go for the displays with the highest refresh rate, it’s not just the refresh rate that matters. In fact, if you’re into casual games, the refresh rate won’t make any significant difference in improving your gaming experience.

Now, of course, you can’t deny that smooth animations do matter in gaming. But for modern single-player games, it’s hard for systems to get 3-digit frames per second (FPS). So, why not consider the other factors of the monitor to get an improved gaming experience?

    Clean gaming setup

Now, you might be wondering what these other factors are. Well, they include HDR support, which can offer an impressive visual quality jump. You also get a competitive advantage with HDR-compatible monitors. They let you view in-game elements in darker areas better.

Also, you need to consider that the monitor defines what you’re going to see in front of you for the next few years. So, if you can squeeze some budget into a better gaming monitor by lowering the budget on the hardware, you will make a good decision.

    Invest In Better Gaming Furniture

You don’t need a gaming chair with 18 position adjustments. There’s also no need for a desk with tons of slots if you really don’t need it. Yes, if you’re a professional streaming, these types of furniture can help to improve your gaming experience on your setup.

    Gizchina News of the week

But for most, fancy furniture items don’t add much value. Instead, for chairs, choose something that offers the most comfort and support. And for desks, an adjustable desk will do just fine. But yes, it’s better to pick the models with built-in cable management solutions. They help to make your gaming setup look clean.

    Desk and chair for gmaing

That said, good gaming chairs do tend to be more expensive than their office counterparts. And if you don’t have the budget for them, it’s better to get a good office chair. If they offer good ergonomics and comfort, you will be set to enjoy an improved gaming experience.

Better Lighting and Ambiance Makes It Easier to Get a Better Gaming Experience

Although its subjective, dim environments do help to get a better gaming experience. They make it easier to get in the gaming mood. But that doesn’t mean that you need to keep your gaming setup completely dark. Instead, consider these:

Bias Lighting to Help with Eye Strain

When it comes to lighting, the first thing you need to consider is backlight or bias lighting. Most gaming monitors have it, making it easy to achieve. But if your monitor doesn’t have a built-in backlight, consider getting LED strips. Glue them on the back of your gaming monitor to get a comfortable gaming experience.

    gaming lighting

RGB Lights Can Enhance the Aesthetics

While RGB lights aren’t as important as bias lighting, they can surely help to make you get in the mood for gaming. That’s why most of the gaming peripherals come with it. But to get the most out of the RGB lighting in the gaming peripherals, make sure that they sync with each other.

Complete the Setup with Good Décor

Make the gaming truly your own by adding things you like. Maybe you have some gaming posters lying around. Consider adding them to your setup. Likewise, you may have gadgets that you like but don’t use too often. Putting them on the desk can help to set the ambiance. But no matter what, don’t clutter your desk with stuff.

    good decor for gaming

    Consider Environmental Comfort

Last but not least, you need to make your gaming space comfortable to be in. No matter what, make sure that there’s a good amount of airflow. Otherwise, it will be quite hard to get a decent gaming experience, especially during prolonged gaming sessions.

  • What is GaN Charging, and How Is It Better?

Power adapters, whether it’s for your laptop, phone, or other device, have one task only. They fill the battery up when its charge level is low. In the past, these adapters have been fairly large and bulky. However, in recent times, companies have begun embracing GaN charging. This has resulted in a significant shift towards smaller and more portable adapters.

With GaN charging, power adapters are now smaller and easier to carry. But it’s not just the size that makes this charging technology better than the traditional power adapters. There is a lot more to discover, and you can delve deeper into the technology by reading further.

    What is GaN?

GaN, which stands for gallium nitride, is a semiconductor material. And as it goes with all semiconductors, this semiconductor can act both like a conductor and an insulator. Its behavior depends on how much voltage is flowing through it.

Semiconductors play a basic yet very crucial role in electronic devices. When they are formed into transistors, they act like tiny devices capable of amplifying or switching electronic signals. And inside a chip, you will find thousands or even millions of these.

    Regular charger

The most common semiconductor material manufacturers use in devices is silicon. You will find these in the form of silicon oxide. And the most common transistors that are inside different devices are MOSFETs. But GaN isn’t just any ordinary semiconductor.

Gallium nitride belongs to a specific category of materials called wide band gap semiconductors. Here, a wide band gap means that these materials require a high voltage to transition from insulator to conductor. But that doesn’t mean that GaN materials have high overall resistance.

    Charging bricks

To be exact, when compared to silicon oxide, GaN has lower resistance. And for that reason, it does a much better job of switching and retaining signals. These wide band gap semiconductors also perform better at higher voltage loads and temperatures. These two properties, in particular, make the material very useful for power adapters.

What Role Does GaN Charging Tech Play in Power Adapters

There’s a lot that’s inside the power adapter you are using to charge your devices. After all, power adapters need to ensure safe charging. In other words, they need to determine the amperage and voltage your device can accept. They also need to ensure that the voltage is regulated during the entire charging session. Also, they convert the AC current coming from the wall to DC.

    Gizchina News of the week

For all the components packed inside a relatively small size, transistors have a huge role to play. More specifically, they handle the all-important power management and power conversion tasks. The big advantage of GaN lies in these tasks, as they perform better in these tasks when compared to traditional semiconductors.

    Regular charger

GaN’s advantage in these regards is best explained by power solution vendors such as CUI. The vendor says that the performance of gallium nitride in transistors is leading to better signal performance across different devices. That too with lower losses in quality and better propagation.

Thanks to GaN, accessory manufacturers don’t need to use a ton of transistors to achieve a targeted power output level. What’s more important is that this translates to smaller sizes and compact power adapters. Even the space-consuming transformers inside the adapters can be shrunk into something extremely small.

All of these advantages of GaN bring small and tiny 30W power adapters to the market. Even though they are small in size, they can easily charge your phone in about an hour. And for laptops, power adapters with gallium nitride tech can easily fit inside a messenger bag.

What Does Gallium Nitride Chargin Mean for You?

No matter how good GaN charging may be, the power lies in the shopper’s hand. Here, one big thing to note is that phone manufacturers have stopped including a charging brick in the box. While laptops do still come with power adapters, most of them are too large to be easily portable.

That said, if you’ve had multiple devices in the past, you might already have a couple of charging bricks around. But if you want better performance and better portability, it’s time to replace those old bricks with a new GaN charging adapter.

    GaN charging adapters

And while the GaN on charging solutions is still fairly new, plenty of great bricks are out there. Most of them even cost less than traditional charging bricks. Also, with some, you get the ability to charge multiple devices with the same charging brick. That is, they come with multiple USB ports.

But do make sure that you check all the features before making the purchase. GaN charging adapters won’t be good if they do not come with advanced charging solutions. That includes power delivery standards, USB standards, amperage rating, and voltage rating.

If you find yourself confused among all the GaN charging adapters in the market, you can check out our guide. It has a list of some of the best power adapters the market has to offer.

Qualcomm recently introduced the much-anticipated Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile platform with over 30% performance improvements. Now, MediaTek is all set to launch its direct rival at an event scheduled for November. Here are the details.

MediaTek, via a recent Weibo, has announced that it will introduce its next-gen flagship chipset on November 6 in China. This will happen at 7:00 pm China time (4:30 pm IST) and will most likely be live-streamed too. The post doesn’t mention the chipset’s name but it is pretty obvious that it’s the Dimensity 9300.

MediaTek Dimensity 9300 launch date announced
    Source: Weibo

The chipset will succeed the Dimensity 9200 SoC from last year and is expected to introduce a number of upgrades. A previous leak suggested that the chipset will have a maximum clock speed of 3.5GHz, which is higher than the 3.3GHz clock speed of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. MediaTek’s offering is expected to comprise a ‘1+3+4‘ CPU structure with one ARM Cortex X4 Prime core. The composition is said to have three ARM Cortex X4 cores and four ARM Cortex A720 cores.

To recall, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 comes with a ‘1+(3+2)+2‘ structure with a Cortex-X4 prime core, three Cortex-A720 cores, two Cortex-A720 cores, and finally two Cortex-A520 cores. As compared to the Snapdragon Gen 3, the Dimensity 9300 may get more X4 cores but this could also result in easy throttling. There’s no word on the chipset’s thermal management, camera capabilities, and more. But we do expect the addition of the Immortalis G720 MC12 GPU. Plus, the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset could also be based on the 4nm process, much like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

It also remains to be seen how this will compete with Qualcomm’s option. It did secure a pretty high AnTuTu score recently but we are yet to see how this will really translate. We shall get all concrete details soon, so, it would make sense to wait. Do share your thoughts on this in the comments in the meantime and we will send all the official updates your way!

  • Realme GT5 Pro Leak Details Trio of Sony sensors

Realme is gearing up to launch a new flagship in the smartphone market dubbed Realme GT5 Pro. The company is known for its mid-range smartphones with affordable prices, but has been working hard to establish its presence in the flagship category. The Realme GT5 Pro is coming soon to compete with flagship devices such as the Galaxy S23 and Xiaomi 13 series. So far, one of the lackluster aspects in Realme’s flagship lineup has been the camera department, but the brand will change that soon by further investing on powerful shooters for the Realme GT5 Pro. The latest leak coming from insider Digital Chat Station (Source) corroborates with this fact, the upcoming Realme GT5 Pro will employ three Sony cameras. The phone will also sport on a 1.5K resolution, which is a marketing term erroneously taken for 1220p panels.

Realme GT5 Pro – Camera Details Tipped

Talking about the three Sony sensors, we will see an IMX966 behind the main camera. It will be a 1/1.4″ sensor, but will perform on the same level as the 1″ IMX989 thanks to its stacked structure. The secondary snapper is an ultrawide module that uses Sony’s 48 MP IMX581 shooter. The final Sony sensor is a 50 MP IMX890 for telephoto photography.

    Gizchina News of the week

It is worth noting that this is not the first report about a Sony IMX966 sensor. The same sensor is expected for the upcoming OnePlus 12. Whether a coincidence or not, OnePlus’ flagship will also boast a 48 MP IMX581 ultrawide camera. Instead of a telephoto sensor will employ a 64 MP OmniVision periscope camera. These similarities between OnePlus 12 and Realme GT5 Pro are not exactly a big surprise. The two brands operate under the BBK Electronics group. They have strong ties with Oppo, so it’s common for them to share technology and features.

    Remaining Specifications and Highlights

If you’re curious to know about the remaining specs in the Realme GT 5 Pro we can also share some details. Under the hood, the Realme GT5 Pro will be powered by the all-new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Meaning it will be more powerful than flagship devices with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The phone will also pack a 6.82-inch OLED display from BOE with curved edges, 1.5K resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The handset will come with up to 24 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The phone will draw its powers from a 5,400 mAh battery with 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. In the software front, the Realme GT5 Pro will run Android 14 with Realme UI 5.

The Realme GT5 Pro will cost about $550 for the base variant. It will reach China soon, and should be an interesting option over smartphones packed with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in the same pricing range. The device will join the Realme GT5 which has been available since August.
