  • Johnny Cage’s Roomba wears a costume in Mortal Kombat 1’s new Halloween stage and apparently it can destroy itself

Back during the original Mortal Kombat 1 beta test, we discovered that if you play on Johnny Cage’s Mansion stage long enough and go to the far left of it, you will eventually encounter the fighter’s robot vacuum. The little Roomba slowly rolls around the room, and not only can it interact and bump into the characters engaged in battle, but it even cleans up the blood that falls on the floor from the fight.

It’s an awesome added detail and one of the little things that makes Mortal Kombat 1’s stages incredible, and the plot only thickened when NetherRealm Studios released the new Halloween variation of Cage’s Mansion this week. You might have seen already that with this variation the Roomba actually wears a costume (a little cowboy who some people believe is Erron Black rides it), but did you know that the robot vacuum can also destroy itself?

X user AlcrisEdenia shared a clip on the social media platform that shows the Roomba going rogue. From the looks of it, it’s possible for the robot vacuum to bump into enough things and set itself on a crash course directly for Johnny’s in-house pool.

This stage features a giant indoor pool right in the center, and the developers actually went the extra mile and programmed an interaction between the pool and the Roomba. The clip shows the vacuum (complete with little cowboy) hugging the edge of the pool as it fights to stay alive.

Unfortunately, as those who have experience with these automated cleaners know, sometimes these robot vacuums just go off the rails and end up somewhere they don’t belong. In this case, the Roomba can drive itself right into the pool, and when it does, it actually explodes and you see sparks and its husk fly upward on impact.

So, why the hell are we talking about this? Well, sometimes developers add tiny details into these games that simply uplift the entire product.

Cowboy Roomba certainly doesn’t help fix some of the major issues Mortal Kombat 1 players have been experiencing, but small Easter eggs and secrets like this make the game more immersive and awesome. NetherRealm Studios is great at this element of game design, and you should definitely explore the new Halloween variation of Johnny’s mansion as it is jam packed with creative little details just like this.

Also, RIP mini Erron Black and Roomba.

  • Genshin Impact 4.5 Leaks Surface: New Characters, Bosses & More

    Genshin Impact 4.5 leaks

Genshin Impact leaks never stop coming and they usually start appearing a lot when a major version is about to end. HoYoverse is wrapping up Genshin Impact 4.1 as the date and time of Version 4.2 Livestream has been announced. We already have lots of info about the characters and banners until Genshin Impact 4.4; however, a recent leak shines the spotlight on a few upcoming characters, their rarity, and potential banners until version 4.7.

Character Banner Leaks Until Genshin Impact 4.7

According to Uncle SH, a very reliable leaker in the Genshin community, Genshin Impact 4.4 will feature Cloud Retainer (as we already know), 4.5 will feature Chiori, Arlecchino in 4.6, and Clorinde and Sigewinne may show up in version 4.7. Info about 4.8 is still unknown, and since we earlier learned that HoYoverse will be trying to wrap up the Fontaine saga sooner, it may be possible that we won’t see version 4.8.

The 4.5 banner conflicts with what Uncle SH said earlier, i.e., Chiori will be a 4 star and Sigewinne will appear in 4.5. Hence, take these leaks with a grain of salt as Genshin Impact 4.5 is still far, far away. More information should unfold in the future.

    World Quest Boss

A Fontaine boss has been leaked and the image looks like it’s taken from the cut scene. This quest will be a follow-up of the events in the Narzissenkreuz quest series and the boss that we’ll be fighting at the end is probably *spoiler alert, Rene.

    Genshin Impact Navia Leaks

    Navia - Genshin Impact leaks

Genshin Impact 4.3 will most likely feature Navia, the boss of Spina Di Rosula. She’s a 5-star Geo DPS character that, according to the latest leaks, scales off of Crit values and has a high base Attack. There’s also a new artifact domain coming that features artifacts that give wielders Attack percentage and Geo damage, which is exactly what Navia needs. Also, according to most leakers, she’s designed to work well with Furina.

  • Street Fighter 6 has sold 2.47 million units, Capcom shares overall sales figures for some of their biggest IPs

Capcom has released their latest fiscal report that details how the company has fared here in Q2 of their business year. As a resource for investors, this new document provides sales information, plans for the rest of the fiscal year, and more, and in it we learn new details about Street Fighter 6’s performance.

The company has shared the latest sales numbers for Street Fighter 6, and over the last few months the game has seen healthy growth. In addition to this, Capcom also revealed the overall sales numbers for some of their biggest video game franchises.

Capcom’s Q2 runs from July through September each year, and this financial report delves into the latest updates across those three months.

The biggest talking point for us here is how much Street Fighter 6 has sold since the last report. According to Capcom, the game has brought in nearly another half a million units sold, bringing the total up to 2.47 million.

Street Fighter 6 came right out of the gate swinging when it launched on June 2, 2023. By June 5th, just three days after the game’s launch, Capcom reported that over 1 million players were already playing the game, which likely meant at least 1 million copies had been sold by that point.

By early July, just one month after release, Capcom reported that Street Fighter 6 had sold 2 million copies. For comparison’s sake, Street Fighter 5 had moved 1.4 million units by May 2016, three months after its official release in February 2016.

Over the course of those three months, Capcom also released Street Fighter 6’s first two DLC characters. Rashid joined the fight in July as the first character included in the Year 1 Character Pass, while newcomer A.K.I. saw her release in late September.

The remainder of the character pass will include Street Fighter 5’s Ed, who is confirmed to see a release in early 2024, and Akuma, who is slated for launch in Spring 2024.

Outside of Street Fighter 6’s increased sales numbers, Capcom also shared details on how some of their biggest franchises have done overall. Their biggest seller remains the Resident Evil series with 150 million units sold, and Street Fighter takes the #3 spot at 52 million overall sold.

You can check out the full breakdown below.

    Resident Evil – 150 million

    Monster Hunter – 95 million

    Street Fighter – 52 million

    Mega Man – 41 million

Devil May Cry – 30 million

    Dragon’s Dogma – 7.9 million

Street Fighter 6 has had a great start, especially for a modern Capcom fighting game. However, some fans are starting to exit the honeymoon phase with the game and are voicing their complaints about the title more frequently.

We’ll just have to wait and see how Capcom addresses one of the game’s largest issues, its inputs, and it will also be interesting to see how they combat another legitimate complaint in the lack of alternate costumes for playable characters. From the sounds of it, there’s going to be a pretty large gap until the game’s next DLC character drops, so hopefully we start seeing more content released for the competitive side of the game and not just single player avatar gear.

  • Apex Legends Season 19: Wingman Moves to the Care Package

care package wingman in apex legends season 19

I still remember how the whole community reacted when the R99 was moved to the care package. Well, as the title suggests, the care package is getting a new weapon in the pool, and it’s a shocking change for many. The Wingman pistol, after being switched from heavy to sniper type, has now been moved into the care package in Apex Legends Season 19. Here are the details:

Wingman is Now a Care Package Weapon

Yes, everyone’s favorite pistol has been moved from floor loot to the care package. It takes the place of the L-Star LMG, which was just an amazing weapon at mid-range. The Wingman has received a significant buff, as that is the treatment given to care package weapons. Here are the key takeaways for the care package Wingman in Apex Legends Season 19:

    • Pre-equipped with golden sniper mag (9 bullets by default)
    • Comes equipped with the Boosted Loader (take it up to 12 bullets)
    • Comes with the upgraded Skullpiercer Elite hop-up
    • Wingman comes with 110 ammo in the care package

Next up, let’s talk about the damage numbers for the care package Wingman. With the standard white helmet equipped, the Wingman body shot hits for 50 damage and the headshot hits for 95 damage. Furthermore, the fire rate has been greatly increased, and you are going to be livid when you face a Wingman in Apex Legends Season 19.

This is one of the biggest changes in Season 19 Ignite, along with the new legend Conduit and Storm Point map changes. • Pumpkin hitbox controllers face off head-to-head just in time for Halloween

It’s that time of year again where people are doing whatever they can possibly think of to pumpkins for the spooky season, and that apparently includes a bunch of electrical components.

Canadian fighting game community member and tournament organizer 7upjawa recently pieced together not one but two functioning hitbox-style controllers out of pumpkins for Halloween.

And not only do they work, but it appears 7upjawa brought them out to locals as well for everyone to try them out fittingly while playing some Darkstalkers.

We don’t see how exactly they were put together, but it’s safe to presume the pumpkins were (hopefully) cleaned out and treated with care to prevent any moisture build up because that’d be the most obvious issue.

This isn’t the technically hardest thing to put together since you’d basically just need the right controller board, a USB cable, buttons and wires, but that doesn’t mean it didn’t probably still take a good number of hours to get cleaned, prepped, wired and working.

And it just continues to show that the FGC will go to basically any length to make a controller out of anything even if it has a shelf life.

It’s not the first working pumpkinbox we’ve seen this season either, but is the first time we’ve witnessed them going head-to-head.

Just make sure you don’t keep them too long after the holiday, and don’t let any squirrels near them (unless they want to lab some setups with you too before chewing a hole in it).
