Last week, a presentation was uploaded to Capcom R&D’s YouTube channel as part of the company’s open conference. The focus on the presentation was focused on the RE Engine’s built-in anti-cheat and anti-piracy measures intended for PC games.
During the video, it’s noted that games can be cracked in a day and paid DLC will be distributed for free without anti-cheat and anti-piracy measures. Needless to say, it’s understandable that Capcom views the damage caused by cheating and piracy as unobservable since it’s not really possible to do a control test with the situation, but it’s particularly interesting to note how mods are to be seen by Capcom as no different than cheating.
“All mods are defined as cheating, except when they are officially supported,” said the slide in the Capcom R&D video. “What they are doing internally is no different than cheating.”
It’s also noted that the increased customer support load that comes with Capcom having to step in to deal with malicious mods have the potential to take away from development costs. Under normal circumstances, these costs were supposedly intended for creating high quality games.
Additionally, it’s said that anti-cheat and anti-piracy measures are necessary to protect the company’s future profits and reputation.

The presentation declares that, unlike consoles, PC games essentially allow users to do whatever they want with the games, which is why these games are often released with anti-pirate software. We haven’t heard much in terms of Capcom shutting down mods or other fan projects, but that is likely to change at some point considering that it was recently revealed that the company aims to make the PC their main platform for their games.
Assuming that this is really Capcom’s stance, this could potentially have some major repercussions for the FGC in the near future considering how intertwined the community has become with modding.
Though Street Fighter 6 was only released about five months ago, fans have already created some cool costumes for the playable roster. Of course, it should be noted that these appearances are only client side, meaning that online opponents won’t be able to see the costume unless they too implement the mods on their device.
Games like Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 have officially had their development concluded many years ago, but some particularly tech-savvy fans have been keeping the game alive by developing new content (such as new characters) for these games.
Overall, as Capcom becomes more focused on the PC as their main platform, they could more often approach some of the mods for games like Street Fighter 6 and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 with the mindset that “all mods are defined as cheating.” If that happens, they may be issuing cease and desists orders more often.
While all of this could potentially be alarming to fans of certain mods, we’ll just have to see how things play out from here and see if Capcom makes those sort of moves.

1 – Open a Superuser Run Programs Dialog
When you press Alt + F2 on Linux, it will open the “Run Programs” dialog box. Here, you can type any program name to run it. It’s possible to run programs like the gconf-editor, which has not a menu entry. However, if you type gksu into a terminal window, a similar dialog box appears. This time around, it will let you run the program as root (or any other user on your system). It’s also possible to bind the gksu command to a keyboard shortcut using System, Preferences, Keyboard Shortcuts, to effectively produce a “Superuser” Run Programs Dialog.
2 – Install Packages Quickly with GDebi

4 – Add Directories to the Directory Stack with PUSHD
The Directory Stack stands as a list of directories stored by bash. The currently-browsed directory always tops the list, but the list is otherwise empty until you add a new directory, which you can do using the pushd command. For example, pushd /usr/bin will add /usr/bin. It will also switch you to that directory, so you can use it instead of typing cd to navigate. The dirs command will show the directory list. The popd deletes the topmost entry in the list, and switches you to the next in the list. You can give the directory list a try. It can be really useful if you’re administering a system and have to leap from directory to directory, and are inclined to forger where important things are stored.

5 – Kill Processes Quickly with PKILL
To Kill a process quickly, you can use the PKILL, KILL or KILLALL commands along with ps | aux to discover process numbers/names. However, the PKILL comand still stands as the best choice. You canopen the Sessions program (Called Startup Manager in Jaunty) and add a new entry. In the Command field, type openoffice -nodefault -nologo. Then reboot. This will cause OpenOffice.org to be cached when the Gnome desktop starts up. So starting any OpenOffice.org app will happen in a second. Effectively, you’re moving the OpenOffice.org startup delay to the initial boot-up process. However, depending on your hardware, you probably never notice it again.
8 – Clear Up Disk Clutter Quickly
If you’re running out of storage, you can try some shortcuts to clean the space a little bit. Type the sudo apt-get autoremove and then the sudo apt-get clean into a terminal window. The first command removes any unused (redundant) dependencies from the system. The second removes all cached package files. Both are harmless. On a well-used system that’s been updated a couple of times. You could free-up as much as 1 GB using these methods.
9 – Figure out Missing File Extensions
Got a file with an unknown extension by e-mail? Try the file command. Specify the filename straight afterwards. Also give the strings commands a try. This will show any “printable strings” within a binary file. The type of file is usually listed at the top, so it’s a good idea to pipe the output of strings into head. (strings filename | head).
10 – Don’t forget the Man Pages
Check out interesting but not-widely-read man pages. Intro – It’s a beginner’s guide to the command-line; hier – a rundown of the filesystem hierarchy; builtins – mini man pages for miscellaneous commands that don’t have man pages of their own. These include pushd, popd and dirs.

Arc System Works revealed during their Paris Games Week 2023 presentation that more new special moves are coming to Strive in the next update along with what one of them will be.
It appears the first of the two new specials is going to Potemkin with the Heat Tackle move that sends him flying diagonally upward across the stage.
This Heat Tackle appears a bit similar to his I.C.P.M attack from the Guilty Gear Xrd games except it has armor and can seemingly lead to good corner carry and Oki.
We don’t know who the other character is that’s getting the other new attack, but they’ve previously said that all original launch fighters will be getting them eventually with I-No, May, Ramlethal, Zato-1, Anji, Giovanna, and Faust having received theirs already.
A December update also suggests that’s when the second DLC character for Season 3 after Johnny will be releasing too since the roadmap showed one more for 2023.

To be exact, the notification on the Huawei phones says, “Security threat. Google appears to be affected. Immediate uninstallation is advised.” This notification comes with a button to uninstall the Google app. This has sparked discussions within the community, and here’s what you need to know regarding the matter.
What Virus Is Huawei Phones Flagging Google App As?
According to the screenshots shared by the users, Huawei phones are flagging the Google app as a TrojanSMS-PA virus. For those unaware, a Trojan program is malware that remains disguised as a legitimate app. This disguise makes the users install the infected apps without any concerns.
Once installed, these infected apps could give the attacker a high degree of control over the device. To be exact, Trojan-injected apps give the attackers the same level of control as the owner of the device. As a result, attackers can easily steal personal information, which includes passwords, baking information, and others.

Japanese pro cosplayer Yazuki recently came back with some more of her perfect Juri except this time she’s put together her upcoming pajamas costume for Street Fighter 6 — plus some awesome I-No from Guilty Gear Strive as well.
The cosplayer started teasing her latest project a few weeks back with the soft pjs laid out as well as the stuffed pink spider shown off in Juri’s concept art.
But now we’ve gotten to see the costume basically in its entirety now, and it’s looking pretty darn spot on to what we’ve seen so far.

Intel 14th Gen processors based on the Meteor Lake architecture were previously revealed at the Innovation 2023 event held a few months ago. After what seems like a long wait, the company is ready to unveil these processors in an upcoming event that was recently announced. Called AI Everywhere, the event will feature a lot of announcements, including two new product series.
Intel AI Everything Event Announced: Details
Intel’s ‘AI Everywhere’ event will be held on December 14th, 2023 (10 AM EST). As per the official company post, it has confirmed that it will launch the first Intel Core Ultra(Meteor Lake) processors here, along with new 5th Gen Xeon (Emralds Rapids) processors. The Intel Core Ultra lineup will be particularly exciting, being Intel’s upcoming flagship processors in the 14th-generation CPU lineup for laptops. The various Core Ultra mobile CPU variants that Intel is expected to launch are as follows:

Core Ultra 9
The other base variant, ‘Core’ processors, were not mentioned in the details of this event. However, they, too, should launch in 2024, slowly phasing the industry towards Intel’s newest architecture. These Core Ultra variants are focused more on performance, and the laptops that will launch later on with these processors will definitely be nothing short of powerful and expensive.
As one can tell from the event’s name, the most significant focus should be on artificial intelligence, where we will see the new chips performing through AI workloads. Meteor Lake architecture brings an NPU chip to the table, which completely changes the game when it comes to AI capabilities on a consumer-oriented chip.
Running AI models on the device itself (without internet) is possible now, thanks to the in-built NPU chip that barely sips power while providing high performance for AI compute workloads. In addition to this, there’s also the faster integrated Arc graphics, which even supports ray-tracing.
Talking about the upcoming Xeon chips, we don’t have any confirmed details from Intel as of yet. At the Innovation 2023 event, they did show off an upcoming Intel Xeon 5th gen processor with a staggering 288 cores. A hybrid architecture is expected here, consisting of Intel 4 & Intel 7 process being used for different chiplets within the Xeon processor. We will know more about these soon!

While the Lenovo Legion Go may seem like just another handheld entering the market, Lenovo has taken steps to make it stand out. Let’s give you a rundown of its main highlights to give you a proper idea of the device:

One of the impressive factors about the Lenovo Legion Go is the screen. It features an 8.8-inch QHD+ panel that has a resolution of 2560×1600. To compare, this screen has twice the resolution of the Valve Steam Deck. But what’s more important is that the screen of this handheld features a 144 Hz refresh rate.
This screen resolution of the Lenovo Legion Go suppresses both the Steam Deck and ROG Ally. And this eventually means that you will get a smoother and more responsive visual experience on the handheld.

Under the hood, the Lenovo Legion Go features an AMD Phoenix silicon. It’s customized for power-efficient gaming, which results in a much lower TDP when compared to standard Ryzen 7040 laptop chipsets.
On that note, the Legion Go is available in two different versions. One comes with the Ryzen Z1 Extreme, while the other is a regular Ryzen Z1 non-Extreme version. The first features eight Zen4 cores, with the boost clock reaching up to 5.1 GHz. And the other comes with six Zen4 cores with a boost clock reaching up to 4.9 GHz.

It’s worth noting that the Ryzen Z1 non-Extreme version is based on a different silicon, the Phoenix2. This chipset combines Zen4c and Zen4 microarchitecture. Another difference is that the GPU that powers the two chipsets is different. Z1 Extreme boasts 12 RDNA3 compute units with a boost clock of up to 2.7 GHz.
On the other hand, you get 4 compute units that are clocked at 2.5 GHz on the non-extreme version. This makes the Lenovo Legion Go with the Z1 Extreme a better choice.
Other Specs
When it comes to memory, the Lenovo Legion Go comes with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM. The memory speed is 7500 MHz, surpassing the speeds of ROG Ally and Steam Deck. As for storage, the handheld utilizes an M.2 2242 slot that features a PCIe Gen4 interface.
In the pre-configured form, you can get it with 256 GB, 512 GB of 1 TB of storage. But it’s possible to pack the Lenovo Legion Go with up to 2 TB of storage.
But what’s really interesting about the Legion Go is that it comes with removable controllers. These removable controllers can also function like a mouse. As a result, you can expect to get better precision while playing first-person shooting games on the handheld.
Moreover, the Lenovo Legion Go has support for external GPUs via the USB-C connector. This is a clear advantage for the handheld over the Steam Deck and ROG Ally.
