  • As many Manons and Zangiefs as JP? Street Fighter 6 character stats for Capcom Pro Tour 2023 France Offline

The majority of Street Fighter 6 events are online these days, and while the far-reaching accessibility for so many that comes with that fact is wonderful, there’s nothing quite like offline competition. We just so happen to have Capcom Pro Tour 2023 France Offline playing out this weekend in Paris, and the top 64 has already been decided.

We’ve tracked down the character usage for each and every one of these high-placing contenders so as to get an updated snapshot of which of the game’s 20 available combatants are seeing the most success when the chips are down.

The most popular of the bunch is, at little surprise to anyone, Ken with eight separate, primary appearances and one secondary appearance (secondary usage is noted by an additional number in parenthesis).

Cammy finds herself hot on his heels as she’s being used by a whopping seven different top 64 competitors. Luke chimes in third with six and then Dee Jay with five.

Three characters boast four appearances (Juri, Chun-Li, and Guile) and then six characters (Manon, E. Honda, JP, Kimberly, Dhalsim, and Zangief) boast three.

The stand out amongst that group has to be JP as he’s often ranked among the best of the best, and to see him tied with the likes of Zangief, Dhalsim, and Manon is surely unexpected.

We’ll continue to update this with specific results for top 32, and top 16 as the tournament plays out this weekend, but would love to hear your initial thoughts on how things are shaking out thus far.

Check out the results here and let us know in the comments if you’re surprised by any particular character’s stats.

  • NYT Connections Hints and Answers for November 4, 2023

If you have been checking back here, you know how often I crib about this simple yet frustrating word game from NYT. However, for once, my playthrough with Connections was quick and easy today. If you want to get through the game with the same ease, then welcome aboard. We discuss what exactly the answer to November 4th’s NYT Connections is, along with hints to guide you along the way. So, without further ado, let’s jump in.

    Hint for Today’s Connections Themes

If you want to learn more about what today’s categories are based on but do not want the exact answer, then check out these subtle hints first.

    • Yellow Category – You need to be ready
    • Green Category – Empty containers
    • Blue Category – Can you spot the clue?
    • Purple Category – Maybe it’s time to be Eco-Conscious

Additional Hint: You might need to play more board games for today’s Blue category.

We wish we could go into more detail here, but the hints in this section are the best we can do. They are closely related to the categories in question today, so think long and hard before you scroll below.

Spoiler Warning #1: While this section included hints for the categories, the next section names them. It will spoil the four categories for today’s Connections puzzle, so proceed with caution.

    Today’s Connections Category Names

If you are tired of us beating around the bush, here are the themes for today’s categories for the NYT Connections game.

    • Yellow – WAYS TO PREPARE
    • Green – HOLLOW CYLINDERS
    • Blue – WEAPONS FROM THE GAME CLUE
    • Purple – “E-” THINGS

At this point, you might have already grouped some words and got the answers. The yellow and green categories remain an easy guess if you can just take your time and solve it patiently, which we highlight as one of the best tricks to solve NYT Connections. Even the purple one is simple enough today. However, the blue category requires some of that pop culture knowledge we keep mentioning. If you are still unable to figure out the answer, tap out and scroll down.

Spoiler Warning #2: The next section includes the answer for today’s puzzle, and you will find all the words in their exact categories. So, proceed with caution if you don’t wish to be spoiled.

    Connections Answer for November 4

Have you finally given up and are ready for the answer? The answer to today’s Connections puzzle is:

    • HOLLOW CYLINDERS – Hose, Pipe, Straw, Tube
    • WAYS TO PREPARE – Drill, Practice, Study, Train
    • WEAPONS IN THE GAME CLUE – Candlestick, Knife, Rope, Wrench
    • “E-” THINGS– Cigarette, Bike, Ticket, Sports
    Connections Nov 4 answer

Thank the universe for the one time I had a fairly easy experience with NYT Connections. The green category was easy this time around as Hose and Pipe helped me quickly make the connection in my mind. The same was the case with drill and practice, which had me initially thinking about the army and then about preparing. While I even guessed the E-things category because of cigarettes, I had no idea about Blue due to never playing Cludedo. This took a good amount of time to figure out.

However, as luck would have it, we have a co-worker who is a board game fanatic who recognized it right away. So, I punched the words in and got my answer for Connections on November 4.

So yeah, these are the answers for NYT Connections for today. How was your experience solving this word puzzle? Where did you get stuck if you did? Let us know in the comments below.

  • More of the brutal Invincible references in the new Mortal Kombat 1 Omni-Man gameplay trailer

NetherRealm Studios made their latest big reveal with the unveiling of the full on gameplay trailer for Mortal Kombat 1’s first DLC character, Invincible’s Omni-Man. This week, fans were given a much closer look at what the upcoming fighter is capable of in-game, and we were also provided with his official release date.

Naturally, the developers behind Mortal Kombat are masters at incorporating details and references from the source material whenever a guest character is introduced into one of their fighting titles. That rings true for Omni-Man, and GameSpot took the time to put together a side-by-side video comparing footage from the new Mortal Kombat 1 trailer with the references from the Invincible show.

Right off the bat, GameSpot shows where the inspiration came from for one of Omni-Man’s Fatalities. One scene from the show depicts the villain squeezing the hell out of an opponent’s head until it is completely crushed and explodes into a gory mess complete with their eye popping out.

This is recreated very accurately in Mortal Kombat 1, though the game uses a few more dynamic camera angles for the finisher.

One of the most recognizable scenes from Invincible sees Omni-Man pummeling the titular character into the ground as their face becomes a bloody mess. This is where the popular “Think, Mark!” meme came from, and in Mortal Kombat 1 this same beat down is tied to Omni-Man’s Fatal Blow.

The latest Mortal Kombat 1 trailer gave fans an extended look at Omni-Man’s subway Fatality as well. GameSpot’s video shows the full side-by-side comparison between the show’s scene and the Fatality in-game, and we see that the attention to detail made by the Mortal Kombat 1 developers is, as always, absolutely top notch.

Invincible’s Omni-Man will become available for early access on November 9. To play him that early, you’ll want to either purchase the Premium Edition of Mortal Kombat 1 or the game’s Kombat Pack.

He will become available to everyone on November 16. In addition to this, despite what many have been lead to believe the first DLC Kameo Fighter, Tremor, won’t actually become available until November 20.

  • Discover the Next-Level Camera Capabilities of the vivo X100 Series

The vivo X100 series is right around the corner. While past leaks gave us an idea of the device’s specs, the VP and chief of brand at vivo has confirmed some of the key specs via a long post on Weibo.

According to the Weibo post, the vivo X100 is confirmed to come with Dimensity 9300 chipset. This chipset will compete against the current Qualcomm flagship, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. And according to the recent benchmark results, it will be a pretty tight competition among these two chipsets.

But the most important aspect of the vivo X100 is its camera setup. As shared by Jia Jingdong, the VP and chief of branding at vivo, the device will feature vivo V3 ISP and Zeiss-branded T* lens. In addition, Jia Jingdong shared some camera samples of the devices. And with that, it’s safe to say that the device will take your mobile photography experience to the next level.

About the Camera Samples of the vivo X100 series

Through the Weibo post, Jia Jingdong establishes that flagship phones do not take real photos of the moon. As you might know, they take “calculation photography.” It’s basically a way of using the available data to calculate the current position and state of the moon to offer artificially enhanced moon photos.

But so far, flagships haven’t boasted much about their sun-capturing capabilities. Well, that’s where the vivo X100 smartphones step in. As you can see from the pictures attached above, the device can take amazing sun pictures during sunset. And through his post on Weibo, Jia Jingdong has established that these are realistic photos captured using computational tricks.

Wondering what’s so unique about vivo X100’s sunset-capturing capabilities? Smartphones find it challenging to take these good pictures of the sunset. The phones require ideal conditions for better quality where the sun is at the lowest horizon with no clouds. Also, the light refraction needs to lower the overall brightness of the sun.

How Does the Phone Take Amazing Sunset Pictures?

Looking at the samples attached above, you might be wondering how the vivo X100 captures such stunning photos. Well, for context, the sunlight during the day generally crosses 125 thousand lumens. And during sunset and sunrise, it’s generally around 32 thousand lumens.

To take great photos during such conditions, vivo X100 utilizes the powerful Dimensity 9300 SoC with a dedicated image signal processor. This combination allows the smartphone to take photos of the sun using the same tricks that smartphones use for taking moon photos.

    Gizchina News of the week

    MediaTek Dimensity 9300

But even with computational tricks, the challenge of high overall brightness still remains. Even if you make the phone focus on the sun, the other objects remain underexposed. Again, the image signal processor (ISP) of vivo X100 devices comes to the rescue.

The vivo ISP isolates the sun based on its calculations. Through that, first processes the rest of the picture, excluding the sun. After that, it adds an enhanced version of the sun to the picture.

Now, the vivo ISP won’t be something new to the vivo X100 series. The vivo X90 Pro came with similar capabilities. And with the ISP, the predecessors could take stunning photos both during the sunset and sunrise. But judging from the images shared by Jia Jingdong, it seems the new devices will take things to the next level.

    vivo X100 orange color

Also, Jia Jingdong shared an elegant orange colorway of the vivo X100 series. As you can see from the picture attached, it comes with a lovely, wavy vegan leather finish. More features regarding the device should come out soon as the launch is set for November 13, which is just a few days away.

  • This new bug in Street Fighter 6 might make Jamie fly up the tier list

A new bug has been discovered in Street Fighter 6 that might take one of the worst characters in the game and potentially make him fly up the tier charts (until it gets patched out). As we sit five months into the game’s lifespan, fresh faced newcomer Jamie has been considered one of the worst characters in the game — oftentimes placed at the very bottom of the tier list.

However, this new bug might give him a pretty interesting advantage for a while, and Jamie players will undoubtedly use it when they can. Essentially, Jamie has the ability to stun an opponent but keep them in burnout, and he can do this repeatedly giving him the opportunity to stock up on drinks.

Pro player iDom put together a video that demonstrates how this bug works. In order to set it up, you’ll need at least one drink stocked up front and for the opponent to be in burnout.

As it stands right now, Jamie can Drive Impact an opponent in the corner when they’re burnt out and stun them. When he does this, he has the ability to take two drinks before they fall out of the punishable window, and this brings him up to level 3 unlocking his ability to use his command throw.

The set up works like this: stun the opponent in the corner with Drive Impact, take two drinks, perform Overdrive command throw on the opponent, let them fall to the ground while taking another drink. Jamie’s OD command throw leaves the opponent in a crumple state, and if you leave them untouched after doing it they will slowly fall to the ground giving Jamie the opportunity to drink again.

Performing this set up just one time takes Jamie all the way to level 4, just like that. The bigger draw, though, is that for some reason when Jamie does this it doesn’t take the opponent out of burnout.

This means that Jamie can perform this whole set up, and when the opponent gets back up to their feet they are still in burnout and susceptible to being stunned again. Jamie can do this as many times as the opponent will allow until their Drive Meter fills back up and they shake off the burnout.

According to iDom, a player by the name of Drunk Carlton Banks first discovered this tech. It is very unlikely that this bug will stay in the game as it bypasses the standard rules of the game’s mechanics, but if you’re a Jamie player, you might want to add it to your arsenal and take advantage of it while it lasts.

  • The 5 Best CS2 Workshop Maps to Play Right Now

Counter-Strike 2’s latest update finally introduces workshop support back into the game. This was one of the features missing in CS2 that CS:GO used to have, and now we finally get it. There have been passionate developments in the Counter-Strike 2’s workshop community already. We have dived into the workshop and explored it. To make your life easier, here are the five best CS2 workshop maps that will inspire nostalgia, let you aim-train, play bhop & surf modes, and more.

Note: Remember to ensure you are logged into your Steam ID already. Once done, it’s very easy to learn how to play CS2 workshop maps.

    1. Crashz Crosshair Generator for CS2

    crosshair generator cs2 workshop map

The Crashz Crosshair Generator workshop map in CS2 is truly the ultimate way to customize your crosshair. It was one of the most popular workshop maps in the CS:GO days, and now the creator has updated it for Counter-Strike 2 as well. As you can see, the map gives you tons of options to customize your crosshair & ultimately fine-tune it to your comfort.

Your monitor, resolution, and other things influence how the final crosshair will look. An excellent way to set the best crosshair in CS2 is to use this map to customize one of your favorite CS2 Pros & Streamers crosshairs or build your own using the tools provided in the map. Whether or not you choose to play with a pro player’s crosshair, we recommend trying this map in Counter-Strike 2 right now.

    2. Aim_Botz Aim Training for CS2

counter strike 2 aim_botz training map

Aim_Botz is an iconic aim training map in Counter-Strike. It’s also relatively simple to warm up with it. All you have to do is get on the map and start shooting. The opponents do not shoot back, but they are far away and all around you. You can keep rotating your mouse around the whole map and practice your aim.

You can practice one-tapping, burst shooting, spraying, and even train your aim-tracking with this map. There are tons of customizable controls here. You can make the bots move around – this makes it way harder to kill them, so enable it for a more intensive aim-training session. You can also choose your weapon, so feel free to practice sniping with the AWP and learn spraying of guns used often like the Galil AR, AK47, M4A4, or Famas.

    3. Surf_Rebel_Resistance CS2 Surfing

surfing workshop map in counter strike 2

There is a slim chance you haven’t seen CS players surfing in the game. If you also want to try it out, this map in CS2 is a good one. I’m no surfing expert, but I would say this course is difficult enough. To learn how to surf, you’ll need to practice. But if you have played surf in CS:GO, or even Team Fortress 2, you’ll be surfing here all the same.

After getting into the map, you do need to enable surf commands in-game. Select the Custom game mode when launching this map in Counter-Strike 2. Then, refer to this surfing commands guide and use the developer console of CS2 to enable surfing in your private server. You can even join community servers in CS2 now for surfing. So, for the times you feel like surfing, check out this CS2 map.

    4. Bhop_Water CS2 Bhop

bunnyhopping mode bhop_water map in counter strike 2

Bhopping is also a popular custom game mode in many Valve titles. It is the art of learning how to air-strafe and timing your jumps to essentially bunny hop in Counter-Strike 2. If you know how to bhop from before, that’s great, because it is quite tough to do so. Bhop_water is a fun-to-play, medium-length bhop map, and you will have fun practicing some surfing here as well

The bhopping scene in CS2 has just begun, so we will see more maps soon. Since there is bhopping as well as surfing in this map, you need to enter both the surfing commands, as well as the bhop commands to enable it. Refer to our developer console guide linked above to know how to enter it.

    5. De_Dust2_Classic CS 1.6 Edition

original cs 1.6 de_dust 2 map in counter strike 2

Feel like going back to the good old days? Before CS:GO came out, there was Counter-Strike: Source, but the gold standard for Counter-Strike remains the original CS 1.6. Wouldn’t it be great if you got to play the original de_dust2 from 1.6 but running on the Source 2 engine on Counter-Strike 2? Well, we have just the thing for you with this CS2 workshop map.

Even though this is a legacy map, the baked-in Source 2 lighting, reflections, and shadows are all present here. It feels truly remarkable to be playing with this level of graphics on such an old map. It’s really fun, too; simply download the map using the link below and select the Deathmatch mode when selecting it in-game.

    De_Dust2_Classic (Download)

And these are the absolute best workshop maps in CS2 for us right now. However, do note that since the workshop has just come out, we should see more maps soon. As such, stay tuned, as we just might add a few more selections here. It will be wonderful to see this ecosystem grow in the future. Which is your favorite CS2 map among this lot? • Top Flagship and Mid-range Phones According to AnTuTu Benchmark Charts

Every month, AnTuTu gives a rundown of some of the top-performing devices benchmarked on the tool. It basically contains smartphones with the highest scores in descending order. While benchmark scores can’t correctly represent real-world performance, the AnTuTu benchmark chart can surely be a reference if you want the best possible hardware performance.

Now, for the benchmark chart that AnTuTu released for the month of October, we get to see some new entries to the list. As you may have guessed, the flagship category is being reigned by the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro. After all, these are the only currently available devices with the recently released Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

As for the mid-range AnTuTu benchmark chart, the devices with Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 are the leaders.

More About the Flagship Devices in the AnTuTu Benchmark Chart

Currently, the Xiaomi 14 is your best choice for a top-notch flagship phone. It achieved a total score of 1,99,7427 in the AnTuTu benchmark. The Xiaomi 14 Pro holds the second spot with a total score of 1,98,5014. Due to the absence of other Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 devices in the market, there is a significant gap between the 2nd and 3rd-ranked devices.

    AnTuTu benchmark flagship chart

As you can see from the image attached above, the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro holds the 3rd position. It features the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and achieves a total score of 1,66,3507 on the AnTuTu benchmark. So, if you want to grab a last-generation device that offers great performance, this is the phone you should go after.

    Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3

    Gizchina News of the week

But what’s really interesting is that this gap between the 2nd and 3rd devices shows how much of a leap Qualcomm has made with its new chipset. The Xiaomi 14 with Gen 3 is 20% faster than the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro. Nonetheless, the next entries of the list include the iQOO 11S, iQOO 11 Pro, vivo X90 Pro+, Realme GT5, and Oppo Find X6 Pro.

Interestingly, there’s a noticeable score difference between the 3rd and the rest of the entries in the AnTuTu benchmark list. But the thing is, all of them come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. This again establishes that the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro is the best pick if you’re shooting for a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 device.

A Closer Look at the Mid-range Chart

A closer look at the AnTuTu benchmark’s mid-range chart shows that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 devices are still at the top. Realme GT Neo5 SE holds the top position in the list. As you can see from the image below, it achieves a total score of 1,15,4600. The Redmi Note 12 Turbo with the same chipset scores close to the GT Neo5 SE. Now, seeing the devices with Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 top the AnTuTu benchmark list isn’t really surprising. With one Cortex-X2 performance core, three Cortex-A710 cores, and four Cortex-A510 cores, this chipset is basically a flagship chipset from last year.

And as expected, the difference between the 2nd and 3rd devices on this list is pretty significant. The 3rd position on the mid-range AnTuTu benchmark list is held by iQOO Z8. It comes with a Dimensity 8200 chipset. While it’s not as fast as Qualcomm’s top mid-range SoC, it’s cheaper.

So, it’s not like you won’t get a good value if you choose the 3rd device from the list. The same thing applies to the rest of the devices on the mid-range AnTuTu benchmark list. Below the 3rd device, there’s the vivo S17 Pro and iQOO Neo7 SE with Dimensity 8200. Then, the list contains Xiaomi Civi 3 and some other devices with Dimensity 8200 Ultra and 8100 Max.
