  • 5 Iconic Fortnite OG Map Locations You Should Visit

The Fortnite OG map is back with Season 4 Chapter 5, and with the new update, it brings back some of the iconic locations of the original map from 2018. Epic Games changed the original map extensively over the years, with points of interest (POIs) destroyed by meteors and whatnot based on the storyline. Now, to celebrate the illustrious history of the battle royale game, Fortnite has re-introduced the nostalgic map for all to enjoy once again. While veteran players will feel right at home, new players might need guidance.

Want to drop at some of the iconic locations on the Fortnite OG map? Then look no further, as we compiled all of these POIs in this guide. So, if you want to pick the first spot to hot drop, look no further.

    1. Tilted Towers

5 Iconic Fortnite OG Map Locations You Should Visit

One of the OG locations since the game’s inception, everyone knows Tilted Towers of Fortnite. Even players who have barely touched the game might recognize this location, and for good reason. Tilted Towers is located squat in the middle of the map, which means players can hot drop from any entry point and start moving over there.

This made this particular location super popular, especially among streamers. Additionally, because of its positioning on the map, it is easy to rotate to other POIs on the map without any hassle, even on foot. The loot was always top-notch in Tilted Towers, which is why so many preferred dropping here and taking a fight immediately. This location transformed over the years based on seasons, but it has consistently maintained its place among the most popular locations in the game.

    2. Pleasant Park

Another legacy location that has been popular among regular Fortnite players. Pleasant Park, as the name tells, is a quaint suburban park with lots of housing to hide and ambush players or just straight-up fight head-on with them. This is one of those places where you have an impressive amount of multi-story suburban houses. Be it the hills or the two-storied houses.

Outside of that, the loot spawn is modest and favors players who land first in this location. You’ll find green and purple weapons scattered around the area with support items in abundance. So if you are fast and lucky, you can snag the good stuff and continue venturing onwards on the OG map. I can see a lot of players dropping here just for the nostalgia.

    3. Greasy Grove

    Fortnite OG Locations Greasy Grove

One of my favorite places to drop at, Greasy Grove is a suburban area that housed a food restaurant and once again, numerous houses with loot and chests to gear up quickly. Originally a frozen lake, this place is naturally located to the left-side corner of the map, west of the Shifty Shafts. Greasy Grove has also experienced a lot of changes over the years, and while it returned with Season 10 of Fortnite, the layout of many structures changed.

Greasy Grove also contains a modest amount of loot inside the houses, and you’ll find vending machines near the shops. However, because of its location, it might take some time to go around, which shouldn’t be a problem if you snag yourself a vehicle (or in this case, a cart).

    4. Shifty Shafts

    Shifty shafts

If Greasy Grove doesn’t capture your attention, Shifty Shafts is the alternative you could seek out on the Fortnite OG map. This is another favorable drop point for many reasons. This mining outpost is located a little farther away from the popular location. This means you can immediately land here and expect lesser resistance from other players. Outside of that, you can scavenge for nearly every sort of weapon and resource from this area, and since not many people jump out here, it’s yours to take.

This is one of the few locations in Fortnite that has remained unchanged over the years, for the most part. Even if it did go through changes, the usual layout has mostly been the same. As such, this OG location’s return will be a nostalgic throwback for several Fortnite players.

    5. Dusty Depot

5 Iconic Fortnite OG Map Locations You Should Visit

Dusty Depot looks pretty normal compared to the other entries in this series. It’s a three-building parking lot on the map, that looks very inconspicuous. But its location also makes it a great strategic segue from the actual action. You can always get inside the parking lot and take a breather from all the chaos happening on the map. Furthermore, because of its spot, Dusty Depot also has become a good place to drop and venture forth.

So, these are our picks for some of the original locations we are looking forward to dropping on the Fortnite OG map. Don’t forget to thank the bus driver, like always! Anyway, which OG location are you looking forward to revisiting on the old map? Let us know in the comments below.

  • Introducing Brave Leo: The Privacy-focused AI Chatbot for Brave Browser

At the current stage, you can pick from more than enough AI chatbots. There’s Bing Chat, Google Bard, ChatGPT, and many others. Well, Brave Leo is the newest addition to this list. It’s the in-browser chatbot that’s available for the Brave browser.

For those unaware, Brave browser is well-known for putting a focus on privacy. It offers more control over what information is collected. The browser also automatically blocks third-party cookies and cross-site trackers. And the Leo chatbot isn’t an exception in this regard.

    More About Brave Leo

The browser-native chatbot Brave Leo is rolling out for all desktop users who are running version 1.60 of the browser. However, not all the browsers in this version may have it, as the company is launching the AI chatbot in phases. But it should land on all devices over the next few days.

That said, it’s not the first time Leo has made an entrance on the Brave browser. The AI chatbot was initially launched for feedback in the Nightly channel back in August. During this Nightly release, Brave promised to make the AI chatbot available to all users in the coming months. And the company has delivered.

    Brave Leo Features

    Gizchina News of the week

Now, when it comes to capabilities, the Brave Leo offers a similar performance as its main competitors. You can ask questions, make it summarize web pages, get translations, or use it to generate new content. But what really makes the chatbot stand out is privacy.

According to Brave, the requests on Leo are “proxied through an anonymized server.” What’s more important is that the responses are discarded after the AI chatbot generates them. This differs from other chatbots as most use the user’s chat to further train the model.

    Brave Leo

Moreover, you don’t need to create an account to use Brave Leo. All you need is the latest version of the browser. And there are two tiers: free and premium. The free version utilizes Meta’s LLaMA 2 LLM, while the premium offers Anthropic’s Claude Instant with a subscription fee of US$15. Brave says that more models will be available for the premium version in the future.

  • Tokido challenged Punk to a first to 10 in Street Fighter 6, here’s what happened

It’s usually only in the top eight bracket of major events such as Evo that we see the likes of America’s FLY|Punk and Rohto|Tokido clash in Street Fighter, but Punk recently left home base for a trip to the East where he and the Japanese fighting game god (one of five) were able to run a long set.

Punk represents perhaps the absolute best America has to offer while the same can be argued for Tokido and Japan. What happens when Punk’s Cammy clashes with Tokido’s Ken in a long set? We finally found out.

Punk is a well rounded player, to be sure, but is especially known for his set apart abilities to confirm stray hits into big time damage. Tokido seems to be a beast in just about every category as he’s proven to be a top tier competitor in game after game.

These two actually met in the grand finals of Evo 2017 wherein Tokido picked Punk apart in a vicious 6-1 set (Tokido was able to reset the bracket from losers and only dropped a single match while doing so). That was Street Fighter 5, however, and this is the latest and greatest Street Fighter 6.

The respect is vividly clear from both sides in the very first round as the pair spends a lot of time chipping away at each others’ health bars with short but relatively safe attempts at offense.

This round goes for a full 59 seconds before one man gets the upper hand, indicating just how tense the full first to 10 will end up being.

The display of top tier Street Fighter is a treat for everyone from the most casual to the most competitive, as these two offer entertainment and education for all audiences through their play.

We don’t want to spoil much of the set, so we’ll let you see how things go down in Punk’s video below. Share which fighter you think will take it all (as well as the final set count) if you dare in the comments before you watch, and let us know what you thought of the whole bout afterwards.

  • Loki Gains New Superpower in Season 2 Episode 5 (Recap)

So folks, Loki Season 2 Episode 5 is here, and within those 40 minutes, there was so much to unpack that for a moment my brain, well, stopped brain-ing. However, this episode gave us certain elements we really didn’t see coming. For example, Casey, who was just a timid and funny character on the TVA turns out to be the infamous man, Frank Morris, who escaped Alcatraz. Episode 5 picks up exactly from the cliffhanger we were left at in episode 4. The Temporal Loom explodes and all TVA workers get sent back to their original timelines. Loki is time slipping again but this time, he can control it, giving him a brand new set of powers. Now he can go back in time and change everything that has happened and he did go back in time but at what point in time? Find the answer to this question and some other interesting ones in this article!

Spoiler Warning: This article contains spoilers for Loki Season 2 Episode 5. If you haven’t watched the latest episode, this might spoil the fun for you.

How can Loki Control his Time-Slipping?

Loki Gains New Superpower in Season 2 Episode 5 (Recap)
    Source: Disney+ Hoststar

The majority of screen time in this episode revolves around Loki, played by Tom Hiddleston, himself and him pondering upon questions that define him. Loki’s time slipping is also something that is connected to his truth of “Why?” why is he doing what his doing, the true purpose of his quest? Initially, he is not being true to himself and tells everyone that he just wants to save the TVA, but when Sylvie forces him to tell the truth, he finally admits the real “Why?” behind his quest. He tells her that he just doesn’t want to save it because it’s important to him, he wants to do that because he wants to save his friends and not be alone again.

This revelation plays a very crucial role in eventually unlocking Loki’s ability to control his timeslipping. However, when the fabric of reality starts collapsing altogether and Loki witnesses his loved ones perish in front of him he realizes that the key to controlling his powers is not “Why?” it’s “Who?”. It implies that Loki wants to change who he is and the course of his destiny. The “Who?” also implies the people he cares about the most and his will to save them from impending doom allows Loki to control his timeslipping turning it into a superpower.

To What Time Loki Travelled To At The End Of Episode 5?

Loki Gains New Superpower in Season 2 Episode 5 (Recap)
    Source: Disney+ Hoststar

By the end of the episode 5, everything and everyone around him starts to be spaghetti-fied. Under all that emotional turmoil, he figures out how to control his time slipping and goes a few moments back in time at first and then travels a significant amount of time and goes back to the TVA. It seems that he traveled back to the TVA before Victor Timely went through the blast doors and got killed. In the trailers, we have seen Loki in that big spacewalking suit but we haven’t seen him in the episodes released yet. Maybe in the next episode, he goes out to fix the temporal loom himself with his new powers and actually succeeds. Who knows?

The possibilities are endless and I would not mind seeing something mind-boggling once again. However, the upcoming episode of Loki season 2 is going to be the finale for this season and will determine the possibility of a Loki season 3 in the future. So, let’s just wait for the final episode to come out and see what Marvel has to offer us!

  • How to Block Spam Calls on Android (3 Ways)

Spam calls are the last thing you want to receive on a busy day. We’ve all had our moments where we’re extremely busy or waiting for an important call from a person and it annoys us when we pick up the call anticipating it’s THE call only to find out the guy on the other side wants you to sign up for a credit card. As annoying as they can be, there are lots of ways to avoid or even block them from bothering you on both Android and iOS. In this article, we’ll be looking at the Android side of things and listing the methods you can use to stop and block spam calls on Android.

Block Spam Calls using Built-in Phone Dialer

If you’re using an Android device, there’s a high chance you’re using the Google Phone and Messages apps. For those unaware, both Google Messages and Phone have built-in spam detectors and blockers, making it easier for users to avoid spam calls and messages. Here’s how to enable spam detection and blocking on Google Phone in Android:

    1. Open Google Phone, tap the three dots at the top right corner, and tap Settings.

    2. In the “ASSISTIVE” section, tap Caller ID and Spam.

Caller ID and spam Google Dialer

    3. Toggle on the See Caller and Spam ID option. This will identify businesses using Google’s business network database and show if a number is spam or junk.

    4. Similarly, toggling on the Filter Spam Call option prevents “suspected” spam callers from disturbing you.

Although both are great options, you might be better off not enabling the Filter Spam Calls option, especially if you reside in the subcontinent. This is because the list of spam callers in India isn’t filtered very well, meaning most unknown numbers, including the Amazon delivery numbers will be labeled as spam and won’t be able to reach out to you. You can also manually block spam numbers by following these steps:

    1. Open the Phone app and long press on a number you want to block.

    2. Tap Block.

Block a number in Google Phone

    3. Tap Block, again. This will prevent the blocked number from spamming calls or texts on your number.

    4. If you blocked someone by mistake, go to Settings > Blocked Numbers > Remove the number you blocked.

    Unblock blocked numbers Android

Block Spam Calls using Google Assistant

For the blessed folks in the US and a few other countries with access to Assistant Call Screening, blocking spam calls becomes really easy. For those unaware, Assistant Call Screening is a feature that Google released back during the Pixel 6 launch and as the name suggests, when enabled, you can let Assistant take calls and decline if it’s a scammer. You can also set it to automatically decline Robocalls, which makes it one of the best built-in solutions to tackle spam calls on Android. To enable the same:

    1. Launch the Google Phone app and tap the three dots at the top right corner.

    2. Then tap Settings and go to Spam and Call Screen.

    3. Tap Call Screen and toggle on the required options.

    Automatically Screen and Decline Robocalls

    4. Tap Spam and select “Automatically Screen. Decline Robocalls.”

As mentioned earlier, Assistant Call Screen is only available in 10 regions as of writing this article. The list of countries hasn’t grown since the feature’s release. Call Screening is easily one of the best selling points of Pixels and yet it’s not available in lots of countries where Google officially sells Pixels, which is a bummer.

If you’re using a Samsung device with One UI 5.0, you can use the Bixby Call and Chat feature which is similar to Call Screening. However, unlike Call Screening, Bixby doesn’t automatically decline a spammer because it doesn’t recognize it.

Block Spam Calls using Third-Party Apps

There are several third-party apps available on the PlayStore that can help you prevent and block spam calls on Android. Now, one of the first things that probably comes to your mind when we say Caller ID is Truecaller and you may know that it also blocks and highlights spam calls. Truecaller is a great app but if you have trust issues with the same (since the company denied a breach that leaked numbers of 4.75 crore Indians in 2020), we will also mention other free alternatives.

    Truecaller

Truecaller (free, download) is one of the oldest players in the market and it keeps getting better. Its spam detection is one of the best since it’s also one of the most used apps in the subcontinent and around the world. It naturally has more data to work within its database. The app also offers additional features such as “Who searched for me,” Truecaller Assistant, Voicemail, and custom greeting in its premium version.

    Truecaller app

One of the caveats of the app is that it requires you to set it as the default dialer app to automatically block spam calls, which, if you like your current dialer, could be a deal breaker. However, it does display the Caller ID when receiving a call without requiring you to set it as default. Overall, it’s one of the best spam prevention and call blocking apps on Android.

    Should I Answer?

While Should I Answer (free, download) isn’t the most comprehensive spam detector out there, it works pretty well. For starters, it provides info about the number on the call screen just like Truecaller, and also has an option to automatically reject Spam numbers reported by the community. It has its database but we found it’s not as extensive, at least in the subcontinent, probably because not many know about it here. During our usage, the app was able to block 5/10 spam calls, which is respectable.

    Should I answer spam blockers

It’s easy to set up and has a mediocre user interface. However, it hasn’t been updated since June and that makes us a bit worried that the app developers have abandoned the project. Nonetheless, if you’re looking for a Truecaller alternative, consider installing Should I Answer.

    Other Honorable Mentions:
