Two days ago, OnePlus held an event in China. In this event, OnePlus showcased the camera capabilities of the upcoming OnePlus 12. The brand promised that it would surpass the competitors’ Pro models. Alongside that, OnePlus confirmed the camera configuration of the device.
As we’ve covered earlier, OnePlus recently announced its partnership with Sony. Through this, OnePlus wanted to equip the OnePlus 12 with a powerful camera sensor. And that sensor happens to be a Sony LYT-T808. This sensor’s power is only second to Sony IMX989. And the Sony IMX989 is the current flagship offering from Sony.
More About the Camera Configuration of OnePlus 12
As some may have realized by now, the Sony LYT-T808 is the same sensor found in the OnePlus Open and Oppo Find N3. And the OnePlus Open is the best camera smartphone OnePlus has released. But the brand plans to push the sensor even further on the OnePlus 12.
At the core, the Sony LYT-T808 is a 50MP sensor. It has a 1/1.4-inch sensor size. Also, it boasts double-layer transistor pixel technology. This tech will give the sensor more information even in challenging lighting conditions.
Gizchina News of the week
As for the telephoto camera, OnePlus confirmed that it will use the OmniVision OV64B. It’s a 64MP sensor that can offer 3x optical zoom.
The company has been silent about the ultrawide camera of the phone. But the OnePlus 12 will likely use a Sony IMX581. It is a 48MP sensor.
Moreover, the OnePlus 12 will feature the all-new HyperTone camera system. Hasselblad and Oppo recently announced it. This system will offer a stellar photography experience. It will provide better noise reduction, realistic portrait shots, and increased clarity.
Among the other known specs, there’s the SoC. The OnePlus 12 will feature the recently released Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Also, it will come with a brand-new BOE display. OnePlus said that the panel would feature an unparalleled brightness rating.
It’s still a bit mundane but hopefully a step in the right direction
For basically the first time ever in their actual fighting games, Capcom has been trying to build a more social ecosystem into Street Fighter 6 though most players would probably admit at this point things have been a bit lacking in that regard.
That could be starting to change some, however, with an actually good in-game event to celebrate A.K.I.’s birthday today, November 11.
The bare minimum would have been to just post on their social media with a piece of art and maybe an in-game notification, but they put in some effort this time.
Capcom did still release a nice piece of new artwork (that you can see in the banner) depicting A.K.I. with her birthday cake adorned with chains, black ooze and a chibi F.A.N.G though that’s not all of course.
Players can get 1,000 free Drive Tickets for just logging in during the event and earn an exclusive sticker by purchasing anything in the Goods Shop.
Probably the most interesting thing though is the special Battle Hub tournaments specifically for A.K.I.’s birthday where she is the only selectable character.
It might be too late to sign up by the time you’re reading this, but they’re giving out 500 Drive Tickets for participating and 3,500 to the tournament winners.
Finally, they’re giving A.K.I. a boost to earning kudos with her specifically receiving a 50% bonus on her birthday (and 10% on the other days it’s active).
The birthday event is scheduled to last until tonight at midnight PST.
In the notifications today, there’s also a message from the latest DLC fighter about the date where she may be insinuating today isn’t actually her birthday, but rather when she was reborn as A.K.I. after surviving her master’s first poison treatments.
“A birthday…? Mine, you say? I see. That reminds me, I belieive it’s also the date that I first survived the master’s poison training, Yes, it was then that I was reborn as A.K.I., the person you see before you. It is something of a birthday, I suppose. Heeheehee…”
Now, these are not earth shattering events or rewards by any stretch, could be a sign that things could be improving and add a bit more substance to the underutilized online facets of SF6.
It would have been cool to see Capcom go the extra mile and make some limited missions surrounding doing things with A.K.I. herself or perhaps giving her a certain present in World Tour mode for some unique birthday dialogue or something.
The Battle Hub still seems poised to be redecorated for special occassions as well, but we’re still waiting for that as well as pretty much anything at this point that isn’t just expensive avatar costume pieces.
Hopefully, we’ll see Capcom experiment and try out new things that wouldn’t have been possible in their previous fighting game releases which give players more reason to keep coming back and rewarding them in fun ways.
Also, we’re wondering about the significance of A.K.I.’s birthdate.
F.A.N.G is of course obssessed with the number 2 (with his own birthday being February 2 or 2/2), so perhaps 11/11 is meant to represent two pairs of two 1s to further reference their master.
Let’s see if Ed gets anything special after he drops in the coming months or any holiday events.
The European Union (EU) has accused Elon Musk’s social media platform, X, of having a fraction of the content moderators compared to its rivals. The EU claims that X has only 2,294 content moderators to ensure users comply with EU online content rules. The EU believes that this is far too low when it compares the figures with what its rivals have. A senior European Commission official said X’s figures are far lower than the likes of Google and TikTok.
The new EU Digital Services Act (DSA) requires no less than 19 very large online brands and two very large search engines to make more changes to their services so as to tackle illegal and fake/harmful content on their platforms. Popular brands like X, Google, Apple, TikTok, Meta and Microsoft are all to make changes.
The EU says that now that the figure difference has come to light, it hopes that X will feel the pressure to do something about it. An EU official said
“There is an important aspect of the DSA, and that is peer pressure,”
If X feels this peer – pressure, then it will have to employ thousands of content moderators in the EU region. In recent times, the EU has boosted its staff that enforces the DSA from 50 to 120. Thus, it expects that there will be no loopholes and no defaulting brand will escape. However, big tech companies have very deep pockets and an army of lawyers. Whether or not the EU will be able to deal with this prowess remains to be seen.
X Content Moderators compared to its rivals
According to the reports submitted by the companies to the EU in September, X has only 2,294 content moderators to ensure users comply with EU online content rules. In comparison, Google’s YouTube has 16,974 content moderators, Google Play has 7,319 content moderators, and TikTok has 6,125 content moderators. Therefore, X has significantly fewer content moderators than its rivals.
Gizchina News of the week
The EU’s rationale for requiring social media platforms to have content moderators is to combat disinformation, hate speech, and other harmful content. The EU’s Digital Services Act (DSA) imposes strict rules about content moderation, and social media platforms are subject to the highest level of scrutiny under this act. The EU has warned social media platforms that they must remove disinformation as quickly as possible once they have received notice that it is disseminating illegal content.
The EU also requires social media platforms to have sufficient numbers of content moderators in each EU language to ensure that harmful content is removed from their platforms. The EU’s goal is to protect its citizens from harmful content and to ensure that social media platforms are not used to spread disinformation, hate speech, or other harmful content.
X’s Content Moderation
X, formerly known as Twitter, has been under close scrutiny by the EU for its content moderation practices. The EU has accused X of being the biggest source of fake news and disinformation. The EU’s Digital Services Act (DSA) imposes strict rules about content moderation, and X is subject to the highest level of scrutiny under this act. The EU has warned X that it is closely watching how it fights disinformation and that it must remove disinformation as quickly as possible once it has received notice that it is disseminating illegal content.
The EU’s accusation that X has a fraction of the content moderators compared to its rivals is concerning. Content moderation is crucial to ensure that social media platforms are not used to spread disinformation, hate speech, or other harmful content. With only 2,294 content moderators, X may struggle to keep up with the volume of content posted on its platform. This could result in harmful content remaining on the platform for longer periods, potentially causing harm to users.
Implications for X
The EU’s accusation that X has a fraction of the content moderators compared to its rivals could have significant implications for the platform. X may face fines or other penalties if it fails to comply with the EU’s content moderation rules. The EU has already warned X that it is closely watching how it fights disinformation and that it must remove disinformation as quickly as possible once it has received notice that it is disseminating illegal content. If X fails to comply with these rules, it could face fines or other penalties.
X may also face reputational damage as a result of the EU’s accusation. Users may be less likely to trust the platform if they believe that it is not doing enough to combat disinformation and harmful content. This could result in a decline in user numbers and a loss of revenue for the platform.
Conclusion
The EU’s accusation that X has a fraction of the content moderators compared to its rivals is concerning. Content moderation is crucial to ensure that social media platforms serene. They ensure that these platforms are not filled with fake news, hate speech, or other harmful content. X may face fines or other penalties if it fails to comply with the EU’s content moderation rules. The platform may also face reputational damage if users believe that it is not doing enough. X must take the EU’s accusation seriously and take steps to improve its content moderation practices. What do you think about the number of moderators that X have? Do you think they are enough to do the job or X has to employ more people? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
Doctor ER Jordan Wagner, a real life ER doctor, has released a new video on his YouTube video that has him analyzing some of the most brutal Fatal Blows and Fatalities in Mortal Kombat 1. This time, however, it seems that he’s teamed up with Noah Fleder, Kenshi’s face model and motion capture actor for eight characters, to react to this latest batch of scenes from Mortal Kombat 1.
Upon seeing Jax’s contribution of Johnny Cage’s Fatal Blow, Fleder asked Wagner if the height that Jax performs a backbreaker would be enough to do the damage shown in Mortal Kombat 1. Wagner noted that a spinal cord injury is possible, but an explosion of the vertebrae would probably require an even greater height.
Upon seeing Johnny Cage breaking the opponent’s ribs by crushing them with a camera, Wagner ends up asking Fleder if he’s ever broken someone else’s ribs before from his time as a martial artist and stuntman. Fleder admitted that it has happened before, and that he was able to really feel the “crunch” when it happened. Needless to say, he felt bad about it.
It’s also revealed that it would be possible for a character like Kitana to stab through a skull with her bladed fans, but only if she were strong enough and applied enough force with her weapons. Without the proper amount of force, Wagner says that a knife or bladed weapon could just simply “slide off” as the stab attempt occurs.
Fleder noted that the way that Liu Kang initiates his Fatal Blow (cartwheel kick) isn’t effective as a real attack since the user would probably just fall on their head upon connecting due to the way momentum works. Of course, it probably still works within the universe of Mortal Kombat due to the fact that Liu Kang is an actual fire god.
Check out the video with Wagner and Felder’s reactions below:
Microsoft, one of the largest investors in OpenAI, temporarily restricted employee access to OpenAI’s ChatGPT on Thursday, November 9, 2023, citing “security and data concerns”. The restriction was quickly reversed, and access to ChatGPT was restored after the company identified its error.
Background
ChatGPT is a popular AI chatbot created by OpenAI that composes human-like responses to people’s chat messages. The service has over 100 million users and has been trained on extensive internet data. Microsoft has invested over $13 billion in OpenAI. However, a CNBC report reveals that Microsoft staff were temporarily banned from accessing ChatGPT. At the time of the ban, there were claims that Microsoft restricted access to ChatGPT for some staff due to security and privacy concerns.
Microsoft’s Response
A Microsoft spokesperson said that the temporary access ban occurred when the company was testing the Large Language Model (LLM). He said that there was an error during the LLM terminal control system testing. However, it recommended employees use Bing Chat Enterprise and ChatGPT Enterprise. The staff claims that the above products have better security and Privacy. The spokesperson made it clear that the ban was a mistake and not intentional.
Gizchina News of the week
Microsoft CEO, Nadella said
We were testing LLM’s terminal control system and inadvertently turned on this option for all users, and shortly after discovering the error, we restored service…
Reactions and Implications
The temporary block on ChatGPT access by Microsoft employees has raised concerns about the use of AI services such as ChatGPT. Many large brands have restricted access to ChatGPT, often to prevent the sharing of confidential data. The incident highlights the need for companies to be cautious when using third-party AI services.

With Mortal Kombat 1’s first DLC character, Invincible’s Omni-Man, now available via early access, fans are diving deep into what this new contender can do here in NetherRealm Studios’ latest fighting title. From impressive combos to set ups with all kinds of Kameo Fighters, there’s a lot to learn and discover with the game’s first guest fighter.
Unfortunately, it seems like Mortal Kombat 1 has new bugs to fix with nearly every update that’s introduced, and I have to imagine that this particular behavior is just another one to add to the list. Apparently, Omni-Man can actually forcibly move the opponent’s position on screen when he air backdashes at fullscreen away.
This clip from MurkoZawa on X (formerly Twitter) shows the potential bug in action.
As we can see from the footage, when Omni-Man is fullscreen distance away from the opponent, he can air backdash and actually pull the opponent forward as he causes the entire screen to shift.
For those who actively play fighting games, you can already tell that what’s happening here is certainly amiss. In every other fighting game I can think of that has backdashes, usually when someone does so from full screen away they will perform the action, but will essentially stay in place.
Never have I seen a character actually shift the position of the entire screen and pull the opponent’s fighter forward. Either Omni-Man is just THAT strong in Mortal Kombat 1, or this is just another bug to fix — I’m betting the latter.
There have been instances where characters in fighting games could manipulate the boundaries of the screen. In Killer Instinct (2013), towering titan Aganos can place his own walls on screen and trap the opponent, then smash them through said walls for big damage. But that’s not quite what this is.
Naturally, if someone chooses to abuse this in-game, they could manipulate where the opponent is on screen against their will. Whether that’s practical or not is yet to be seen, but I’d say it’s almost certain that this is unintentional behavior that needs to be patched out.

NYT decided to switch up the focus of Connections from audio and technology to patriotism and automobiles, all in time for Veterans Day in the U.S. However, if that statement doesn’t make sense to you, then keep reading. We are going to break down and list all the categories through hints (as well as directly later on) as we tell you the answers for November 12th’s NYT Connections. So without further ado, let’s begin.
Hint for Today’s Connections Themes
If you want to learn about what today’s categories are based on but only through subtle hints, check out these clues first.
Yellow Category – America has had some great presidents
Green Category – The sporting world has a lot of positions
Blue Category – Automobiles have a lot of variety
Purple Category – These words are placed before another
Additional Hint: Are you a patriot?
We wish we could go into more detail, but these hints are the best we can share in this section. They are all closely related to the categories in question today, so think long and hard before you scroll below. If you still can’t pinpoint the categories, then maybe these tricks to solve NYT Connections could help.
Spoiler Warning #1: While this section included hints for the categories, the next section names them directly. It will spoil the four categories for today’s Connections puzzle. Scroll only if you’re sure.
Today’s Connections Category Names
Still can’t figure it out, eh? In that case, here are the themes for today’s categories for NYT Connections.
Yellow – PRESIDENTS
Green – SPORTS PROFESSIONALS
Blue – CAR COMPANIES
Purple – COMMON PREFIXES
Spoiler Warning #2: We hope you can guess the words now. However, If you still can’t, then it’s time to scroll down. The next section includes the answer for today’s puzzle; you will see all the answers in their exact categories.
Connections Answer for November 12
Have you finally given up and are ready for the answer? The answers to today’s Connections puzzle are:
PRESIDENTS – Ford, Grant, Lincoln, Wilson
SPORTS PROFESSIONALS – Coach, GM, Player, Scout
CAR COMPANIES – BMW, HONDA, JAGUAR, SUBARU
COMMON PREFIXES – AUTO, POST, SEMI, SUB
Today was an America-centric day as the Yellow category started with me naming all the presidents. I mean, it was easy once you paired up Lincoln and Ford together. I had my next luck with the blue categories with car companies, as clubbing them was also easy enough. While I don’t have a lot of experience in the sporting world, I’ve seen The Blind Side enough times to know what Coach and Scout means. However, I followed the pattern of sadly losing to the purple as it happened again and I finally got my answer for Connections for November 12.
What about you? How was your experience with today’s puzzle? Where did you get stuck if you did? Do let us know in the comments below.
Microsoft has announced that it will disable the Outlook browser extension on November 30, 2023. This change will affect Microsoft 365 Personal or Microsoft 365 Family subscribers who use the Outlook.com email service with a custom domain. This report is on Microsoft 365 Information Center. The company said it will work on the Outlook on Edge sidebar to provide users with a more seamless experience. For this reason, it will close the Outlook browser extension on November 30.
The company said after November 30, users will no longer be able to access, download, and use Outlook extensions in Edge and Chrome browsers. It also said that it will push notifications to users in late November and plans to complete it in late December. Microsoft officially stated that users will not be able to use the Outlook browser extension after December. Edge or Chrome browser users can transition to using the Outlook on Edge sidebar, Outlook app or Outlook Web.
What is the Outlook browser extension?
The Outlook browser extension is a tool that allows users to access their Outlook email account directly from their web browser. It provides quick access to email, calendar, and contacts, and allows users to manage their inbox without having to switch between different applications.
The Microsoft Outlook browser extension uses icons from Microsoft Edge to provide mail, calendar, contacts, and task functionality. Quickly access your Outlook work account or Outlook.com Hotmail account without switching to other tabs or apps.
Function
Gizchina News of the week
Access work or personal accounts
Read, send and manage emails and get notifications of new emails
Create events, view upcoming activities, and join online meetings
Create, track and manage tasks
Manage contacts
Great for doing all of this without having to switch tabs or apps:
Read important emails
check calendar
Add tasks based on what you read on the web
Quickly find a contact’s phone number
– Quote information from web pages when composing emails
What are the implications of this change?
The main implication of this change is that users will no longer be able to access their Outlook email account directly from their web browser. Instead, they will need to use a separate application or web page to access their email. This may be inconvenient for some users, especially those who are used to using the Outlook browser extension.
What can users do to prepare?
Users who currently use the Outlook browser extension should prepare for this change by finding an alternative way to access their email. One option is to use the Outlook desktop application, which provides a more robust set of features than the browser extension. Another option is to use the Outlook web app, which can be accessed from any web browser.
Conclusion
Microsoft’s decision to disable the Outlook browser extension may be inconvenient for some users, but it is important to remember that there are alternative ways to access your email. By preparing for this change and finding an alternative way to access your email, you can ensure that your workflow is not disrupted.
