  • Best Waterproof Earbuds: Keep the Beat Going

With the best waterproof headphones, you can listen to your favorite tracks, audiobooks, and podcasts even when you’re swimming. And if you’re wondering what really makes something sit among the best water earbuds in the market, the most important factor is the IP rating.

To be able to offer the water protection needed to let you jam your favorite tracks while you swim or during the rain, the wireless earbuds need to come with at least an IPX7 rating. But aside from having a good IP rating, the earbuds also need to excel in other criteria.

That includes the audio quality, connectivity options, battery life, and, most importantly, the fit. Don’t want to go through the hassle of scouring through the market to find the best waterproof earbuds? You don’t have to! The list below contains nothing but the headphones that excel in all the mentioned factors.

JBL Reflect Aero – Best Overall Waterproof Earbuds

    JBL Reflect Aero TWS

The JBL Reflect Aero is basically a no-brainer choice if you’re looking for the best waterproof earbuds. Not only does it boast extreme water protection, but it can also withstand sand and other debris exceptionally well. To be specific, the pair of earbuds have an IP68 rating.

But it’s not just the build quality that makes the JBL Reflect Aero a good pick. This pair of Bluetooth earbuds also features a robust driver setup. Thanks to that, it can deliver great sounds. However, if you plan to swim with it, make sure to keep your phone close to the pool. Wondering why?

Bluetooth doesn’t travel well underwater. And while some waterproof earbuds do offer a solution for this, JBL didn’t. But the thing is, JBL didn’t design the Reflect Aero only for swimmers. Instead, it’s a versatile pair of wireless earbuds that you can also use to swim. It even offers decent Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) performance.

Main Highlights of JBL Reflect Aero

    • Great sound performance
    • Features an IP68 rating
    • Has amazing touch controls
    • Up to 24 hours of battery life with the charging case

Tribit FlyBuds 3 – Best Cheap Waterproof Earbuds

    Tribit FlyBuds 3

Want to grab a pair of the best waterproof headphones but don’t want to spend much on them? You don’t need to! The Tribit FlyBuds 3 costs less than the most of the wireless earbuds in the market. And the great part is that its cheaper price tag doesn’t reflect its performance.

When it comes to waterproofing, the FlyBuds 3 features an IPX8 rating. As mentioned earlier, IPX7 is the bare minimum rating a pair of wireless earbuds needs to have to be called waterproof earbuds. So, you can wear them in the rain and while swimming without any issues.

Comfort-wise, the Tribit FlyBuds 3 has an ergonomic and lightweight design. You can keep them on for hours without facing any comfort issues. And as for the sound performance, this pair of waterproof earbuds can deliver powerful, detail-rich, bass-filled audio. However, the earbuds do not come with ANC, which can be overlooked considering its extremely cheap price tag.

    Gizchina News of the week

Highlighted Features of Tribit FlyBuds 3

    • Up to 110 hours of battery life with the charging case
    • Offers decent sound performance
    • Comfortable to wear
    • Has easy controls

Anker Soundcore Sport X10 – Best Affordable Waterproof Earbuds

    Soundcore Sport X10

If you have a little more cash to spend, you should consider the Anker Soundcore Sport X10. These waterproof earbuds are a bit more expensive than the FlyBuds 3, but the increased price tag is well worth it. For example, unlike the FlyBuds 3, the Soundcore Sport X10 comes with noise-cancellation.

Thanks to that, you can block out distractions at the gym, swimming, or doing outdoor activities. And it’s not just the ANC that makes these buds worth it. These earbuds also come with an IPX7 rating, making them highly resistant to water.

In addition, this pair of waterproof earbuds have a robust driver setup. They can deliver powerful and bass-forward audio. And the great part is that you can adjust the sound output according to your preference. They bundle with a dedicated app. But, yes, the on-ear controls of the earbuds could’ve been a little more intuitive.

Highlighted Features of Anker Soundcore Sport X10

    • Can deliver bass-forward audio
    • Up to 32 hours of battery life with the charging case
    • Has ANC and Transparency features
    • Bundles with an intuitive app

Jabra Elite 10 – Best Premium Waterproof Earbuds

Jabra Elite 10 premium waterproof earbuds

The Elite 10 is another pair of wireless earbuds from Jabra for this list of the best waterproof earbuds. And to be exact, it’s the most premium pick. You get pretty much everything that you would expect from a high-end pair of Bluetooth earbuds from these.

To start with, the Jabra Elite 10 features an IP57 rating, making it perfect for challenging weather conditions. And as it is one of the premium offerings from Jarba, you get a premium build. In my opinion, the build quality is up there with Apple AirPods Pro and Sony WF-1000XM5.

Like the other high-end buds, this pair of waterproof earbuds offers class-leading audio. You get to hear every little detail of the playback. What’s more important is that the companion app comes with a customizable EQ. And the story is the same for comfort. You can easily wear these buds throughout the day.

Highlighted Features of Jabra Elite 10

    • Up to 27 hours of battery life with the charging case
    • High-quality build
    • Packs multiple advanced audio techs
    • Delivers top-class ANC performance

  • Overwatch 2’s Roadhog Hero Gets Overhauled; Check Changes Here

Roadhog Tank Hero in Overwatch 2

Overwatch 2 is a very popular multiplayer game right now. Despite all the negative criticism happening around the game and backlashes due to Blizzard changing up their game plan, OW2 still has an active player base. Besides the new tank hero Mauga, a lot of players had requested a rework to Roadhog. Their wishes have now been fulfilled as Overwatch has unveiled its rework of the hero. Let’s discuss it below.

Roadhog in Overwatch 2 Gets Overhauled: All New Changes

Roadhog is a tank hero in Overwatch 2. His role revolves around being a high-damage character, and he also plays his part in picking off specific enemies with his chain hook, which lets him drag enemies to an extremely close distance. As part of his rework, there are some key changes that Roadhog is receiving as part of an Overwatch 2 update, which is going live today on 14th November, 2023.

The official patch notes for Overwatch 2 retail patch notes are live. They were also shared in a Twitch stream, so we do have the details already. We have talked about all of Roadhog’s changes below:

    • Scrap Gun (primary weapon)
      • Secondary fire functionality has been removed
      • Damage per shot increased from 150 to 160.
      • Shotgun pellet count reduced from 25 to 16.
      • Shotgun pellet damage increased from 6 to 6.25
      • Fire a shrapnel volley of 4 large projectiles in the center of the shot
      • Each shrapnel deals 15 damage
      • Critical damage multiplier has been reduced from 2x to 1.5x
    • Take A Breather (healing ability)
      • It is now activated by holding the secondary fire button
      • Ability cooldown is now at 1 second, down from 8 seconds
      • A new resource meter is added, which recharges when not in use
      • 12 seconds are required to charge ‘Take A Breather‘ ability fully
      • Heal 450HP in 3 seconds with full charge
      • No longer amplifies healing received upon ending
      • Damage reduction while using ability is reduced from 50% to 30%

Apart from this, there is also a new ability known as Pig Pen. With this, Roadhog launches a trap that can slow down enemies with a movement speed reduction and damage them at the rate of 30 damage per second. Initially, if the Pig Pen is triggered right at the enemy, it can also deal 60 damage at this moment.

These changes are quite interesting. The primary weapon has been changed drastically. It does seem to be buffed in certain aspects, and it will be interesting to see how the new shrapnel volley mechanic works in the weapon.

It has also been nerfed when speaking of the critical damage, shotgun pellet count, and removal of the secondary fire, which made the shotgun quite versatile. I loved playing the pre-patch Roadhog tank hero in the game. However, I will have to see for myself if this complete Roadhog overhaul in Overwatch 2 makes sense.

Do you like Blizzard’s new changes to Roadhog in Overwatch 2? The patch goes live today, so it should be an interesting game night today. It will definitely take some time for people to get adjusted. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

Full List of Samsung Devices that are Currently Running Android 14 Samsung Android 14

Samsung released the Android 14 update for its current flagship phones on October 30, 2023, just 26 days after the update was rolled out to Google Pixel devices. This marks a slight delay compared to the previous year but is notably faster considering Pixel devices were updated earlier in 2022. The quick deployment of Android 14 reflects Samsung’s commitment to keeping its flagship Galaxy devices up-to-date with the latest Android features and improvements.

As of now, the following Samsung Galaxy devices have received the Android 14 update, joining the ranks of smartphones benefitting from the new features and enhancements brought by the latest Android version.

In October 2023, Samsung initiated the rollout of One UI 6 for the Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra, targeting select countries globally. The deployment began primarily in Europe, and as of the first week of November, it has yet to reach users in the United States. The staggered release allows Samsung to manage the update process efficiently and address any potential issues before expanding it to a broader audience.

Which Other Galaxy Devices are Eligible for Android 14 Update?

Notably, not every Samsung smartphone or tablet will receive the Android 14 update, as per Samsung’s existing update policy. Eligibility is based on devices released since 2021, ensuring that all flagships within this timeframe receive at least four major Android OS updates. Unfortunately, the 2020-released Galaxy S20 series, Galaxy Note 20 series, Galaxy Z Fold 2, and Galaxy Z Flip/5G will not be updated, as confirmed by Samsung following an inadvertent disclosure.

In general, Samsung plans to update any smartphone or tablet released in the last two years to Android 14. However, for slightly older devices, the update will be limited to more premium hardware. This specifically refers to the Galaxy S, Galaxy Z, and Galaxy Tab S lineups.

Android 14 Update Plan for Samsung Galaxy Devices Samsung Android 14

Samsung has not yet provided an official schedule for the release of One UI 6 upgrades for supported devices. However, given that the rollout began in late October, it’s reasonable to anticipate updates for devices like the Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and others in November. The update is likely to continue through March or April, reaching older and more affordable devices.

If Samsung follows a similar pattern to last year’s Android 13 update, it’s expected that the company will complete the One UI 6 rollout for its core lineup well before the end of 2023.

The swift deployment reflects Samsung’s commitment to timely updates, focusing on devices released since 2021. While the 2020-released Galaxy S20 and Note 20 series miss out, Samsung ensures a seamless Android experience on its premium hardware.

  • A.K.I.’s ‘anti-air’ Super can be pretty visually deceptive as to what it does and does not hit in Street Fighter 6

Fighting game developers spend countless hours meticulously adjusting the hitboxes on every single move, but that doesn’t mean there still isn’t some weirdness that can occur in the final product.

Our own Jon ‘Catalyst’ Grey recently got literally hit by some visual deception using A.K.I. in Street Fighter 6.

As soon as the opposing Juri jumped, Catalyst attempted to anti-air out of the sky with the Tainted Talons level 2 Super Art.

Though you can see the chains pass through her multiple times, they all whiff and let the opponent get in with a Punish Counter to rub salt on the missed attempt.

We do have to point out that the heavy punch version of the Super was used here, and the game technically tells you that the light version is the best at anti-airing.

While there are some gaps, taking a look at a hitbox visualizer of the move still shows even the heavy version makes a pretty sizable wall of individual hitboxes that appear hard to miss with at face value.

Doing some anti-air testing in SF6 itself in Training Mode, I found it difficult to make the Super miss at any strength level, but clearly it’s not going to catch everything.

We’re not really advocating for a change here with this exchange. Just take this as another reminder that not everything works like it appears in SF6 or this genre as a whole.

  • Apply May Finally Allow Sideloading of iOS Apps in EU next Year

    Apple App Store

No matter how big Apple becomes, like every other company, it must follow laws set by legislative bodies. As you know, the latest iPhone 15 Series has a USB Type-C port. This was done because of an EU Law passed earlier, which required electronic devices to have USB-C as a requirement. Now, it appears that Apple might have to follow another EU law that forces it to act as a fair entity within the digital app market. Apple’s policy on having the official App Store as the only source for new apps could change with this!

Apple Could Allow Side-Loading Apps on iPhone for EU Users in 2024: Details

The speculation comes from the latest report via Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, which states that Apple will be introducing a “highly controlled system” around this time. With this, iPhone users in the EU will be allowed to install apps from other sources, not just the Apple App Store. This change might come as soon as the first half of 2024 to users in the EU.

So why is Apple going to allow sideloading? There is another major EU law that is making Apple change things up. It is known as the Digital Markets Act (DMA). This act aims to make the markets present in the digital sector ‘fairer and more contestable.’ DMA has specific criteria through which it analyzes which companies are considered ‘gatekeepers.’

DMA does not allow entities that are identified as ‘Gatekeepers’ to keep its core services, such as the App Store, to be closed down to the competition. Companies have to comply with the obligations and prohibitions listed by the act, which was passed back in 2022. Ever since then, there has been speculation about side-loading becoming available on iPhones soon.

    apple iphone app store
Apple’s App Store is where you officially get new apps for your iPhone, but that might change soon (Image Courtesy: Apple)

Reportedly, Apple will also be changing how the Messaging app & payment apps work on the device. MacRumors states that this could be implemented via a localized iOS 17 update. But, there is also a chance that the change will come into effect when Apple launches iOS 18 at the annual WWDC event. It is unclear for now which exact iOS update will include this change. We will keep you updated as the situation progresses.

For those unaware, Sideloading is essentially the ability to install apps from another source. It is a popular feature given in iOS jailbreaks, although it has been possible to side-load tweaks & apps without jailbreaking as well.

What Does Apple Think of Side-Loading?

Apple’s stance on side-loading is not at all positive. Craig Federighi, Senior VP at Apple, publicly spoke back in 2021 regarding side-loading at the Web Summit 2021. He said that ‘Sideloading is a cybercriminal’s best friend.’ Moreover, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook spoke in 2022 about the dangers of sideloading apps on iPhones and iPads.

apple senior vp craig federighi talking about sideloading
Apple really does NOT approve of sideloading (Image Courtesy: Web Summit 2021)

How exactly Apple will introduce this change and whether it will be entirely safe for users to side-load using the upcoming “highly controlled system” (as Gurman said it would be) is something we will have to see for ourselves. This is quite a tricky situation for Apple, given how locked down its ecosystem is.

What are your thoughts on side-loading apps on iPhone? Do you think this change might even find its way to other countries and eventually worldwide? Let us know in the comments below.

  • What Are Poneglyphs in One Piece (Explained)

The One Piece universe is overflowing with unanswered mysteries. That’s the special thing I love about this series, and don’t you think it’s the same for you? Among those mysteries, the poneglyphs are the final piece of the puzzle to attain the greatest treasure — One Piece. The series is now in its final saga, and we will uncover all the mysteries about the poneglyphs very soon. But, you don’t have to wait any longer as we have created this detailed guide about poneglyphs in One Piece.

What Is a Poneglyph in One Piece?

Nico Robin seeing a poneglyph during her childhood
    • Japanese Name: 歴史の本文ポーネグリフ
    • Official English Name: Poneglyph, Ponegliff
    • English Meaning: Text of History
    • First Appearance: Anime Episode 123, Manga Chapter 202

A poneglyph is a giant block of rock that bears ancient letterings in an unknown ancient language. So what do the poneglyphs contain you ask? These ancient scripts when deciphered, contain undiscovered historical information about different aspects of the One Piece universe. The poneglyphs are inspired by the Egyptian hieroglyphs that exist in real life. That is why these are referred to as stela or stele as it’s inspired by real-life monuments.

Some notable information inscribed in these poneglyphs includes the Void century, the last island Raftel, ancient weapons, the One Piece treasure, and more. That is why researching this script is forbidden by the World Government and can result in deadly punishments.

These Poneglyphs can be found strewn around the islands of perilous seas of this diverse One Piece world. However, the official number of poneglyphs is not confirmed yet. Baron Tamago claims that the planet is home to around 30 poneglyphs. Furthermore, he added that each of these poneglyph narrates a lost piece of history.

In the One Piece world, once the poneglyphs were made, they were handed over to respectable civilizations. In return, they’ve safeguarded them as treasures generation after generation.

    Who Built the Poneglyphs?

As we are already aware, the Kozuki family is known for their exceptional craftsmanship when it comes to swords. That statement stays the same as the ancient Kozuki stonemasons are the people who crafted the poneglyphs. As a result, these gigantic stones are deemed to be indestructible even by a large-scale explosion.

Who Can Read Poneglyphs in One Piece?

Robin reading the road poneglyph at Zou

As we have mentioned earlier, the texts inscribed on the poneglyphs belong to an ancient language. As a result, at the beginning, there was no one except the makers who could understand it. But years later, the scholars of Ohara were able to learn about them and decipher them. This is also where Straw Hats member Nico Robin was able to learn the skill of reading the poneglyphs at a young age.

As stated above, since these people researched a forbidden subject, the whole of Ohara was destroyed through a Buster Call. Nico Robin is the only survivor of this incident.

So yeah, Nico Robin is the only person in the world who is capable of reading and deciphering the poneglyphs, at least we thought so until the Wano Country Arc. In a recent anime episode, it was revealed that Kozui Sukiyaki (father of Oden) was alive all along, and he can also read these scriptures as he is a member of the renowned Kozuki family.

Since the entire world thinks that he is dead, Nico Robin is the most-wanted person if one wants to understand the poneglyphs. But on the flip side, we know that two people can read poneglyphs in One Piece.

Types of Poneglyphs in One Piece

    different types of poneglyphs

Now that have a clear understanding of what poneglyphs are and how they were built, it’s time to learn about the three types of poneglyphs that exist in the One Piece world. These cubic blocks can be differentiated based on their color, information inscribed, etc.

So, the three different types of poneglyphs in One Piece are:

    • Instructional Poneglyphs
    • Historical Poneglyphs
    • Road Poneglyphs

    1. Instructional Poneglyphs

This is the first type of poneglyph and is confirmed to have a dark blue/ metallic blue color. To our surprise, we haven’t come across any one of this type so far in the manga or the anime. But at least we know the true purpose of this poneglyph.

It is stated that instructional poneglyphs contain information that necessarily provides instructions/ hints on the location of another type of poneglyph known as Historical Poneglyphs. You can learn more about them below.

    2. Historical Poneglyphs

Historical Poneglyph located in Sky Island

Up next, we have the Historical poneglyphs, which serve a great purpose. As the name implies, these poneglyphs carry fragments of the true history of One Piece with them. This means that these are the poneglyphs that can help us shed light on mysteries such as the Void Century, Joy Boy‘s Apology, and more.

Additionally, these poneglyphs also have messages written by ancient people. Much like the Instructional poneglyphs, these usually come in a dark blue/ metallic blue color as well.

    3. Road Poneglyphs

Finally, we have the Road Poneglyphs, which are the ultimate key to reaching the final island, Raftel (aka Laugh Tale), in One Piece. Unlike the other types, we know the exact number of Road poneglyphs that exist in the world.

There are a total of four Road poneglyphs, and they are deep-red in color. Each of these four poneglyphs consists of a location. When all four are uncovered and put together they form a cross-section, revealing the location of the treasure.

Four Road Poneglyphs pointing the final island

How Many Poneglyphs Does Luffy Have?

Thus, to obtain the legendary treasure, our aspiring Pirate king Luffy will have to get his hands on all four Road Poneglyphs. But, how many poneglyphs does he have right now? Is he close to getting the legendary One Piece treasure?

The answer to this question is that Luffy has successfully got the prints of three Road Poneglyphs. He is only a single Road Poneglyph away from reaching the final island, Laugh Tale.

All the poneglyphs in One Piece

Wait, before we end our discussion about poneglyphs, there is one more important topic we have to discuss. As you can see from the image above, among the total 30 poneglyphs, a specific set of nine poneglyphs is collectively known as the Rio Poneglyph. This information was confirmed by Tamago. The literal meaning of Rio Poneglyph is True Text of History.

As a result, one can learn about the Void Century and many more by collecting the Rio Poneglyphs. Thus, as far as Robin is concerned, the message sent by every Poneglyph along the Grand Line is Rio Poneglyph.

The only person in this entire world to learn about the true history, get the One Piece treasure, and more by collecting poneglyphs was Gol D. Roger and his crew. This was because Roger could hear the “Voice of all things” and had Oden in his crew.

In the Saboady Archipelago arc, Roger’s right-hand man, Silvers Rayleigh, confirmed the above fact and gave us a more important tip. He said that they were too early to get their hands on these uncovered truths. In addition to that, he mentioned that Luffy and his crew may come to a different conclusion than what they did as it boils down to one’s perspective.

And that’s everything you need to know about poneglyphs in One Piece. As we are heading towards the final moments of One Piece, we all must learn of these massive cubic blocks as they will play a vital role. That said, what do you think about the concept of poneglyphs?
