  • NYT Connections Hints and Answers for November 19, 2023

While today’s NYT Connections was quite easy, it won’t hurt if you’ve studied the etymology of words. Join us as we slowly discuss all the hints, categories, and, finally, the answers for the NYT Connections for November 19. So, without further ado, let’s begin.

    Hint for Today’s Connections Themes

We start by discussing a few subtle themes for the Connections themes today. So check them out below and see if you can guess some of them.

    • Yellow Category – Beginning of something
    • Green Category – Some things are just respected a lot
    • Blue Category – Walking has many forms
    • Purple Category – All these mean a day off

Additional Hint: How did the word ‘August’ come to be I wonder

We wish we could go into more detail in this section, but these hints are the best we can share. They are all related to the categories for the puzzle today, so think long and hard before you scroll below to see the exact names. However, if you still can’t guess the themes, then maybe trying these tricks to solve NYT Connections could work.

Spoiler Warning #1: While this section included hints for the categories, the next section names them directly. Only proceed if you’re sure.

    Today’s Connections Category Names

If you are still stuck with the categories, then maybe it’s better if we just spill the beans in this section.

    • Yellow – ONSET
    • Green – VENERABLE
    • Blue – WALK
    • Purple – _ _ _ DAY HOLIDAYS

Spoiler Warning #2: We hope you can guess the words now. However, If you still can’t, then it’s time to scroll down. The next section includes the answer for today’s puzzle; you will see all the answers in their categories. This is your final chance to scroll back up.

    Connections Answer for November 19

Still can’t solve the puzzle after all the help above? In that case, the answers to today’s Connections puzzle are:

    • ONSET – Birth, Creation, Dawn, Start
    • VENERABLE – August, Grand, Noble, Regal
    • WALK – March, Step, Stride, Tread
    • _ _ _ DAY HOLIDAYS – Earth, Groundhog, Labor, May
    NYT Connections Answer November 19

I am a big space enthusiast. And while the word Start doesn’t connect to it, Birth and Creation sure do. That got me thinking about a relation between these, and I had the Yellow category for connections solved. Order would dictate I would go for the Green category next, but I am a chronic walker too, and hence, I connected all the words to it. That led to solving the blue category first.

It was then my minor interest in Latin got me thinking about the word August and how it came to be. Once I remembered that it actually means respect, I had a look at some related words. Sure as it was, I got Regal, Noble, and Grand and got the Green. With only four words left, I connected them all, got the Purple category, and solved the NYT Connections puzzle for November 19.

What about you? How was your experience with today’s puzzle? Where did you get stuck if you did? Let us know in the comments below.

  • Axl goes full Rashid in second new special attack revealed for Guilty Gear Strive

The third season of Guilty Gear Strive is going in harder than any previous with its introduction of new mechanics and things to do in matches, and they aren’t done yet.

For the finals at Fighters Spirit 2023, Arc System Works revealed the second new special move coming to Strive in the next update.

Next in line to receive a new toy is none other than Axl Low, and he’s apparently taken a few pages out of the book of Rashid in Street Fighter 6.

We don’t really have an official English name for the move yet, but the dude can summon a big tornado in front of him.

Axl appears to have both a fast and charged up version of the move with the normal one being useful for juggling airborne opponents in combos for extra hits.

Meanwhile, the charged version of the tornado lasts longer and is shown used for meaty pressure or as a shield that he can move behind.

He joins Potemkin with his Heat Tackle as the two characters receiving new moves in the next update after I-No, May, Ramlethal, Zato-1, Anji, Giovanna, and Faust got theirs at the start of Season 3.

The patch is supposed to drop sometime in December alongside the second DLC character of the pass, who hasn’t been announced yet, though probably will be quite soon.

  • Hidden moves and Brutality for Omni-Man discovered – uses his own Kameo as a human shield, projectile and more in Mortal Kombat 1

Omni-Man is a total brute as Mortal Kombat 1’s first DLC character, but it appears as though there were / are plans to make him even more ruthless.

Data-miner Thethiny recently shared the discovery of some hidden unused moves / mechanics and a Brutality for Omni-Man that let him take out his own Kameo assist with Interloko showing off their animations and uses.

According to Thethiny, MK1’s code makes multiple references to a series of moves called “KameoKill” that he obviously can’t use in the full game.

The text in the info box states that using the KameoKill would increase Omni-Man’s damage and defense, but his Kameo actions would be disabled for the rest of the match.

That can sound a bit confusing, but Interloko was able to rip out the animations to make things much more clear.

Omni-Man could grab and hold up his own Kameo in front of him to become a human shield and absorb an unknown amount of incoming attacks / damage.

From there, he has multiple animations of tossing the Kameo’s body forwards or backwards, likely as a human projectile, and after that it sounds like the assists would be gone for the rest of the match (because they’ve been essentially taken out by their own teammate).

They even made special animations for Omni-Man throwing Motaro specifically.

It appears as though he also had a piece of dialogue meant for the move stating “They were weak,” which we’re not sure if that’s a direct reference to Invincible or just connected to Nolan’s ruthless and calculated nature.

Even without his assist, however, Omni-Man would still be able to perform Breakers by himself, so he wouldn’t be missing out on more of the mechanics when flying solo.

On top of that, Thethiny also found reference to another Brutality hidden in MK1’s files for Omni-Man labeled as “Mustache” though it’s still a bit unclear as to what it is or how to do it (if you can at all).

It’s unknown if the Kameo Kill moves were something cut out during the development process or if they’re planned to be added in the future.

If we had to guess, though, the mechanic probably ended up on the cutting room floor due to potential balancing issues since Kameos are such a big part of the gameplay or maybe even avoiding future problems of guest Kameos and the like getting destroyed by their own user.

There will likely be more discoveries made around these unique moves and more of what Mortal Kombat 1’s files are hiding, so it’ll be very interesting to see what lies below the surface for this game.

  • How to Appear Offline on Valorant

Appearing offline in a multiplayer game can be handy, especially if you do not want your friends or your employers to know you are online. In every Riot game, including Valorant, you can see a status under your name in-game describing your current activity. However, Valorant does not give you the freedom to appear offline or change your in-game status. But, in this guide, we will share working methods to appear offline in Valorant, so you can play the game without others knowing.

Use Deceive to Appear Offline on Valorant

As there is no official way or method to remain offline while you play Valorant, proceed with caution. Riot claims this to be a safe method but given how randomly Vanguard works, it might end up not working in the future.

By using this method, you will be able to see all your friends, chat with them, or invite them yoo. However, since you will appear offline to them, they will not be able to do the same. As a result, they will not be able to locate you in their social section in-game.

So, follow the steps below to turn yourself invisible in Valorant using Deceive. Before you proceed, make sure your Riot Client is turned off before you start the Deceive app.

    1. To start the process, you first need to download the Deceive app from GitHub.
    2. Once you download the assets, find Deceive.exe and run it as administrator.
    3. To do that, right-click on the .exe file and select the Run as Administrator option.
    Run Deceive as admin
    1. Once done, open the app to see a list of Riot Games. Select Valorant, and your game will run as Deceive runs in the background.
    2. By default, you will appear as Offline in-game. In case you want to change the status, you can click on Deceive app on your system tray and select Status Type to change it.
Deceive app appearing Valorant as offline

When you are in-game, you will see a friend in your friend list named Deceive Active. This indicates the method worked. You can disable this by quitting the game and closing Deceive from the system tray.

Once you restart the game without Deceive, the game will restore your online appearance. However, keep in mind that the developer can make changes to Vanguard or their social appearance system to make this third-party application not work as intended.

How to Remove Players to Appear Offline

While the method above to appear offline on Valorant is unofficial, there is another way you can appear offline to select people without putting anything at risk. For this method, you need to completely remove a friend on Valorant, and here is how you can do that:

    1. Run Valorant and look for the player you want to Remove on the Friends tab.
    2. Now, right-click on their name and click on Remove Friend in the menu.
    3. You will now appear offline in their Valorant Friends tab.
    Remove Friend in Valorant

That is all you need to know about playing Valorant without remaining offline to others. As Riot Games does not offer status-changing options, the above-mentioned methods are your best way to appear offline in Valorant. While blocking players, make sure they haven’t changed their name in Valorant.

  • How to Adapt to WhatsApp’s New Policy on Google Drive Backups

In the ever-evolving world of technology, change is a constant companion. Recently, a significant shift has occurred in the realm of WhatsApp, impacting Android users who have long enjoyed the privilege of free and unlimited backups on Google Drive. As of 2024, this familiar convenience has been replaced with a new policy: backups will now occupy space in your Google account. This shift has sparked discussions and concerns among users who have grown accustomed to the seamless and cost-free nature of this service for the past five years.

Navigating the New WhatsApp Backup Landscape: Strategies for a Seamless Transition

    WhatsApp Communities

The decision to end unlimited and free copies of Drive backups by WhatsApp and Google is not without its rationale. WhatsApp, being a data-intensive application, occupies a substantial amount of space on users’ smartphones. The idea of aligning the storage cost with the space consumed is logical. However, the sudden alteration in this long-standing arrangement has left many users contemplating how to adapt without compromising their valuable data. In this article, we will explore the reasons behind this policy change and provide three practical strategies to ensure a smooth transition into the new WhatsApp backup landscape.

    Understanding the Storage Conundrum

At the heart of this issue lies the default 15 GB of free storage that each Google account provides. This storage is shared across various Google services, including Gmail, Google Photos, and, crucially for this discussion, Google Drive. For users who have been mindful of their cloud usage, the impact of WhatsApp’s recent policy change may not be immediately apparent. However, those who find themselves grappling with storage issues, such as difficulty sending emails due to space constraints, must take proactive measures.

WhatsApp, being the premier messaging app, tends to be one of the most space-consuming applications on smartphones. When WhatsApp initiates a backup to Google Drive, it essentially transfers the space it occupied on the user’s device to Google’s storage. This was inconsequential in the past when backups did not contribute to storage usage. However, with the recent policy change, the potential for storage crises among Google account users looms large. Imagine being unable to send an important email via Gmail because your storage is overwhelmed with WhatsApp backups. Let’s delve into practical solutions to avert such a scenario.

    Strategies for a Seamless Transition

    1. Google One Subscription:

One of the most effective ways to address the storage crunch is by subscribing to Google One. For a nominal fee of €1.99 per month, a basic Google One account provides 100 GB of storage – more than sufficient to accommodate substantial backups. Beyond the storage benefits, subscribers gain access to Google’s VPN, enhanced editing options for Google Photos, and additional gallery backup space. This presents a simple yet versatile option for users looking to centralize their storage needs and avoid the headache of constantly managing space.

    2. Secondary Google Account:

For users hesitant to disrupt their primary Google account, creating a secondary account specifically for WhatsApp backups is a viable alternative. Establishing a new account is a straightforward process. Navigate to your Android settings, access “Accounts & Passwords,” select “Add Account,” and choose “Google.” Once the secondary account is set up, sync your WhatsApp with it, ensuring your primary account retains its 15 GB of uncluttered space. This approach offers a practical solution without risking potential conflicts in your primary account.

    Gizchina News of the week

    3. Optimizing Backups for Minimal Impact:

While you cannot transfer WhatsApp backups to other services offering more free space, you can make your backups more manageable. Retaining your Drive backup is advisable for data security, but setting limits can help avoid unnecessary clutter. Head to WhatsApp settings, access “Storage & Data,” and minimize the number of photos and videos stored in chats. Uncheck elements for automatic downloads over mobile data, Wi-Fi, and data roaming. These steps not only free up space on your mobile device. But also ensure your Drive backup remains lean, mitigating potential storage issues in the future.

Tips and tricks to help you manage your WhatsApp backups and avoid running out of storage space on your Google account:

Regularly review and delete old or unnecessary chat conversations. This can free up a significant amount of space, especially if you have a lot of group chats with many participants.

Disable automatic media downloads. This will prevent WhatsApp from automatically saving photos, videos, and GIFs to your device. You can still download files manually if you need them.

Use a secondary Google account for WhatsApp backups. This can help to isolate WhatsApp’s storage demands from your primary Google account, preserving its storage capacity for other purposes.

Consider subscribing to Google One. For a monthly fee, you can upgrade your Google account’s storage to 100 GB or more. Ensuring ample space for WhatsApp backups and other data needs.

Delete old WhatsApp backups. You can do this by going to Settings > Chats > Chat Backup > Back Up. Select the backup you want to delete and tap on “Delete Backup.”

Use a third-party backup solution. There are a number of third-party apps that can back up your WhatsApp data to other cloud storage services, such as Dropbox or iCloud. This can be a good option if you don’t want to use Google Drive.

Export your WhatsApp chats. You can export your WhatsApp chats to a file and then store that file on your computer or another device. This is a good way to archive your chats and free up space on your device.

By following these tips, you can effectively manage your WhatsApp backups and avoid running out of storage space on your Google account.

    Conclusion

Adapting to the new WhatsApp backup policy necessitates a proactive approach. Whether through a Google One subscription, a secondary Google account, or optimizing your backups for minimal impact, practical solutions are available to navigate this evolving landscape. As technology continues to shape our digital experiences, staying informed and implementing these strategies ensures a seamless and worry-free journey with WhatsApp on Android. Embracing change, understanding the underlying reasons, and taking decisive actions will empower users to maintain control over their data while enjoying the convenience of WhatsApp’s messaging services.

  • How to Get the Trial Key in Minecraft 1.21

Just like with every Minecraft update, the upcoming 1.21 update doesn’t introduce only new mobs and blocks, but items as well. Some can be used in crafting recipes, while others have their own unique purposes. One of those special items is the trial key, which you can only get in the Trial Chambers. We dedicate this whole guide to this little item and share all you need to know about it. So, without further ado, let’s see how to get the trial key in Minecraft 1.21.

What is the Trial Key in Minecraft 1.21

The trial key is an item added in the Minecraft 1.21 update. It looks like a copper key with a dark blue spooky skull as the handle. Since the 1.21 update is in beta testing, the uses of this item are unknown right now.

It may have something to do with the copper doors, which currently behave just like other non-iron doors. Though, it may have a purpose only inside the Trial Chamber, since that’s the only place you can get it (more on this below). We’ll make sure to keep this guide up to date, so as soon as the new info gets released, you’ll know about it right away.

Trail key in an item frame inside the Trial Chamber structure in Minecraft 1.21

Where to Find the Trial Key in Minecraft

You can get the trial key inside the Trial Chambers and only inside this structure, which generates near the deepslate layer. If you wish to learn how to find Trial Chambers, we already have a guide in place to help you locate them.

Trial Key is a relatively rare drop you can get from multiple sources in this structure underground. Speaking of the sources, you can get the trial key from a chest near the entrance (6.8% chance), decorated pots in the corridor (3.6% chance), and as a reward for completing the trial spawner’s challenge (50% chance). Since you are most likely to get this item from a trial spawner, let’s go over it right now.

    What is the Trial Spawner?

Trial spawner is a special spawner type that summons a limited number of mobs proportional to the number of players that join the battle. If you are playing in a single-player world, every trial spawner will spawn 6 mobs at a time. First, two mobs will appear and then once you kill one of them, a new mob will spawn. If you manage to kill two mobs at once, the spawner will spawn two more.

So essentially, you’ll be fighting two mobs from a trial spawner, except when you’ve killed 5 of them and the one remaining is the 6th and last mob. After you defeat all the spawned mobs, the trial spawner will go into the cooldown state that lasts for 30 minutes. It won’t spawn any mob during the cooldown, but after that, it will be ready to throw you another challenge. Moreover, it’ll give you rewards like precious items on top of itself. One of these items can also be the trial key you’re looking for.

Husks spawned from the trial spawners in the trial chambers in Minecraft snapshot 23w45a

The game chooses mobs this spawner summons from four categories. Every Trial Chamber has mobs from the melee, small melee, and ranged categories, as well as some Breeze mob trial spawners. Which mob the spawner will spawn is indicated by the blocks around it. So, the mobs trial spawner can spawn and the blocks associated with them are the following:

    • Melee
      • Zombie (mossy cobblestone)
      • Husk (chiseled sandstone)
      • Slime (moss block)

Furthermore, every Trial Chamber contains trial spawners for only one mob per category. So, if you found this structure and the first trial spawner you see spawns skeletons, it means that the ranged mobs of the entire structure are skeletons. Therefore, you will not encounter other ranged mobs at all.

To sum it up, one Trial Chamber can spawn skeletons, zombies, and silverfish, while another one can spawn strays, husks, and spiders. The rule doesn’t count for the Breeze spawners, since every Trial Chamber 100% has these spawners scattered around.

As we mentioned already, the uses for the trial key are so far not certain. But it does seem like a very valuable and special item that you will very likely want to own. Though that’s all we know about it for now. What are your thoughts on the trial key? Let us know in the comments below!
