    1. PDP Rematch Enhanced Wireless Controller

    PDP controller for Nintendo Switch

Do you need an additional controller for the couch gaming sessions? Are you looking for a controller that releases you from the shackles of the wires? Then, PDP Rematch is the perfect controller at this price point.

It is a wireless controller that connects to your Nintendo Switch without wires for up to 30-foot distance. It has two programmable back buttons near the grips and a 40-hour battery life, ensuring the best gaming experience. Additionally, the design glows in the dark, making this a perfect controller to flaunt around your friends.

    2. Hori Nintendo Switch Split Pad Pro

Hori Switch Pad Pro for Nintendo Switch during Black Friday Sale

Nintendo’s Joycons is a good controller, but its QA is finicky. Since day one, multiple users have complained of their Joycons drifting mere months after opening it up. This problem still exists to this date. To ensure gamers are not annoyed, multiple third-party brands launched Joycon replacements with better control sticks.

In comes the Hori Switch Split Pad Pro, a controller that looks and feels like a standard PlayStation or Xbox controller. It has a standard controller design, replacing the round D-Pad of Joycons with a traditional D-Pad. Furthermore, it provides a controller-like grip. This is a perfect replacement for Joycons for users who want a durable replacement.

Buy on Best Buy ($49.99 $36.75, 26% discount)

    3. SanDisk 512GB Ultra MicroSDXC Card

    SanDisk Ultra MicroSDXC card

Of course, we had to throw in a deal for microSD cards. After all, the Nintendo Switch barely has any internal space, with 64GB being the maximum space you will get out of it if you buy an OLED model. As such, you will require a microSD for that additional storage, and what better than to suggest the SanDisk Ultra microSDXC? We’ve suggested this in our Steam Deck SD card suggestions, and the same goes for this. The 512GB variant is currently priced well, so grab it until the offer stays.

    Buy on Amazon ($39.99 $36.99, 7% discount)

    4. PowerA Protection Case For Nintendo Switch

PowerA Carrying Case in Black Friday

Protection of your console is important, especially if it is a Nintendo Switch. And we had to pick PowerA’s protection case. This is a multi-purpose carrying case for Nintendo Switch, the OLED variant, and the Switch Lite.

Unlike other cases where you have a separate compartment to carry your dock inside the case, this doesn’t have that option. However, if you want a compact carrying case that can store your game cartridges and the Nintendo Switch in handheld mode, it is the perfect choice.

    Buy on Amazon ($19.99 $13.99, 30% discount)

And these are our picks for some of the best deals on Nintendo Switch. The deals will indeed keep getting updated every single day, and better offers might creep in. Hence, we’ll keep updating this article to include as many great Switch deals as possible. Did any particular deal catch your eye that others should know? Let us know in the comments below.

  • Benchmark Reveals How Efficient Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Is

Launched back in October, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 has now started appearing in more flagships. Xiaomi 14 was the first lineup to feature the SoC, which is now in the hands of many reviewers. And with that, the flagship Android chipset is currently subject to in-depth evaluation.

While it’s pretty clear that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is a proper upgrade over its predecessor in terms of performance, efficiency has been a concern. One reputed reviewer named Golden Reviewer has shed light on this. The reviewer has tested the chipset with a standardized benchmark tool. And it’s pretty apparent that the CPU’s efficiency is not as great as its performance gains.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Is Less Efficient Than The Predecessor

In case you missed our in-depth coverage, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 features a new architecture from Qualcomm. This platform packs two efficiency cores, five performance cores, and one prime core. According to the test from Golden Reviewer, the big core in the chipset offers a massive performance boost.

But the big performance gains come at the cost of efficiency. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 had an average power consumption per watt of 4.9 in the SPEC benchmark. In comparison, the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 has a 6.27 average power consumption per watt.

    Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3

This increase in power consumption doesn’t bode well in terms of efficiency. What’s more interesting is that the SPEC benchmark reveals that the max power consumption per watt is 11.05. This is not good news for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

    Gizchina News of the week

For those who aren’t familiar with this benchmark, a lower score is better. To be exact, it’s better to have a high performance per watt score and low power consumption per watt. And with these scores, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 sees an 11 percent degradation. You can check out the in-depth test result in the picture attached below.

Snapdragon 8 gen 3 efficiency test

However, it’s worth noting that this might not be an actual representation of the chipset. As critics have pointed out, Android OEMs optimize the Qualcomm SoCs differently. So, there’s a chance that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 may have better efficiency scores in other smartphones than the Xiaomi 14 Pro.

Upcoming Chipset May Tell A Different Story

When Qualcomm released the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, it said that the 8 Gen 4 would see the biggest upgrade. The chipset manufacturer has recently unveiled the Snapdragon X Elite platform. These are laptop-class chipsets, which offer great performance and efficiency performance.

    Qualcomm Oryon CPU

They are the first SoCs to feature the custom Oryon cores. And that’s basically why the Snapdragon X Elite could offer such an amazing performance. Now, as you might know, current Snapdragon mobile chipsets are based on ARM. But with Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, we will see custom in-house cores.

In other words, the Oryon cores that make the Snapdragon X Elite chipsets great performers will be featured on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. This will lead to higher performance gains and better overall efficiency scores. And with it, the gap between the Apple flagship chipsets and Snapdragon SoCs could become very close. So, things look very different for the upcoming mobile SoC from Snapdragon.

  • Brand new Tremor Kameo appears to be bugged depending on which character uses the assist in Mortal Kombat 1

It’s become something of a running theme that new updates and additions have brought more apparent glitches to Mortal Kombat 1, and today seems to be no different.

Tremor just launched as the first DLC Kameo fighter for MK1, and it appears as though he assist is bugged for most of the cast depending on which character he’s paired with.

The game itself lists Tremor’s up assist uppercut as being -7 on block in the frame data, but that’s really not the case for all but a few fighters.

After cesium_v pointed out the apparent inconsistency, our own Justin ‘AdaptiveTrigger’ Gordon tested the move with every single character in the game on PlayStation 5 with some pretty astonishing results.

If the assist is truly supposed to only be -7 on block, then only two fighters in the whole game can achieve that being Scorpion and Sub-Zero.

We’re actually starting to wonder if the move was actually planned to be -16 because that’s what it is for the majority of the roster.

Even that isn’t consistent, however, since there are others who are -8, -10, -11, or -12 after using this particular Tremor Kameo.

There is the mechanic in the game where character plus Kameo choice changes health values, but we’ve never heard of it messing with the frame data before.

That’s a pretty sizable difference between them as well considering that means Scorpion and Sub-Zero could only be potentially punished by the absolute fastest attacks in the game while most everyone else is open to much larger retorts.

The frame data display being wrong would be one simple thing, having it be strangely inconsistent across the entire cast is on a whole different level that we generally don’t see in this genre (at least in more modern times).

NetherRealm Studios doesn’t appear to have acknowledged this apparent glitch yet, but they’re likely going to need to address it in the very near future.

We don’t really feel as though this bug by itself is enough to warrant tournament bans or rule changes though discussions are likely going to happen if it’s not fixed soon.

The closest thing we can really compare it to recently is the issue with Omni-Man too where his combo damage scaling appeared to be different between consoles and PC.

We tested this move multiple times with all members of the cast against Baraka.

Incorporating different variables like changing distances did not have an impact on the frame data.

Here’s a breakdown of all our findings for Tremor’s uppercut Kameo assist frame data, so you can see the full differences for yourselves.

    • Sub-Zero — (-7)

    • Scorpion — (-7)

    • Kung Lao — (-8)

    • Liu Kang — (-10)

    • Nitara — (-11)

    • Havik — (-11)

    • Ashrah — (-12)

    • Kitana — (-16)

    • Baraka — (-16)

    • Mileena — (-16)

    • Tanya — (-16)

    • Rain — (-16)

    • Smoke — (-16)

    • Reptile — (-16)

    • Li Mei — (-16)

    • Kenshi — (-16)

    • Geras — (-16)

    • Omni-Man — (-16)

    • Shang Tsung — (-16)

    • General Shao — (-16)

    • Sindel — (-16)

    • Reiko — (-16)

    • Raiden — (-16)

    • Johnny Cage — (-16)

  • Meizu 21 Launch is Set for November 30

Meizu is gearing up to introduce its new flagship smartphones. After multiple reports, the company has finally shared the official launch date with us. On November 30, the Chinese smartphone maker will introduce the Meizu 21 series. The event is set to start at 2:30 PM Beijing Time (6:30 UTC) and the lineup is expected to include the Meizu 21 and Meizu 21 Pro.

Meizu 21 and Meizu 21 Pro Key Features and Details

Meizu already teased some of the key specifications coming with the Meizu 21. For instance, the new smartphone will boast a 6.55 Samsung OLED screen. It will feature symmetrical 1.74 mm bezels on all four sides of the screen. Meizu also revealed it will offer a version of the Meizu with a white front panel. Nowadays, we don’t have many devices with white front panels, so it’s definitively a nice extra. Under the hood, the Meizu 21 series will boast the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with FlymeOS based on Android 14.

    Meizu 21

Obviously, Geely, the automaker behind Meizu brand, will also take the opportunity to tease FlymeAuto along with the Meizu 21 series. The new phones are expected to pair nicely with Geely’s fleet of vehicles that come under Polestar, Lotus, and Lynk & Co brands. Meizu also confirmed it will offer an extended 36-month warranty to all Meizu 21 smartphones.

    Gizchina News of the week

The Meizu 21 series battery capacity will start at 4,800 mAh and both phones are expected to include 80W fast-charging support. The Pro variant may get a slightly larger battery with 5,020 mAh capacity. It is unclear whether the Pro model will also offer wireless charging. Both the Meizu 21 and 21 Pro are expected to include an OIS-enabled 50 MP primary camera. The standard variant will feature an ultra-wide camera and a telephoto camera. The Pro edition will have a ultra-wide shooter and a periscope telephoto camera. Both phones will feature an RGB ring LED flash on the back. Both phones will come with Flyme 10-based Android 14.

Meizu’s new flagships set to compete with OnePlus, Xiaomi, Oppo and other mainstream brands

The Meizu 21 series will replace the Meizu 20 and Meizu 20 Pro flagships which debuted with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip earlier this year. The launch of new smartphones in less than one year after their predecessors is a surprise. In fact, it confirms Geely’s wish to re-establish Meizu’s glory as a flagship smartphone company. The company is not only launching new flagships in less than a year, but is also taking a ride in the trend of new flagships coming after the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. We are excited to see what Meizu has in tow for the smartphone market.

At this point, Meizu will compete with Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Honor and OnePlus and most of the maistream brands launching flagships with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The device can be an interesting competitor with unique design and some neat features like FlymeOS.

  • Former Twitch CEO Emmett Shear confirms he will serve as interim CEO of OpenAI

OpenAI, the AI research company, has named Emmett Shear as its interim CEO after the ousting of former head Sam Altman. Shear is a former CEO of Twitch, the live video streaming platform, and a partner at startup accelerator Y Combinator. He is known for his advocacy of safety in the development of artificial intelligence. Shear has shared a plan for the next steps at OpenAI, saying he would look to reform the startup’s management team and hire an independent investigator to dig into Altman’s departure.

    OpenAI CEO

According to The Information and Forbes, OpenAI’s board of directors selected former Twitch co-founder and former CEO, Emmett Shear as interim CEO. Today Emmett Shear posted on X after taking over as OpenAI’s interim CEO. Amongst other things, he said that after talking it over with his family and thinking about it for several hours, he accepted.

Previously, the OpenAI board of directors sent a memo to staff stating that its former CEO Sam Altman would not return to his job as CEO. In the memo, the board said Shear “has the unique skills, expertise and relationships to drive OpenAI forward,” adding that this was “the only way to advance and defend OpenAI’s mission.”

It is worth mentioning that earlier today, Microsoft CEO Nadella announced on X that OpenAI founders Sam Altman and Brockman will join Microsoft. The two will lead the new Microsoft AI team. Nadella said the Altman team will get all the resources they need and they will get it quickly.

    Who is Emmett Shear?

Emmett Shear is a former CEO of Twitch, the live video streaming platform, and a partner at startup accelerator Y Combinator. He co-founded Twitch as Justin.tv in 2006, before its name was changed to Twitch in 2011. The platform quickly gained traction in the gaming community. It was acquired by Amazon for just under $1 billion in 2014. Shear stepped down as CEO of Twitch in March 2023 after more than 16 years at the company. Shear has a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Yale University.

Why was Shear appointed as interim CEO of OpenAI?

OpenAI’s board of directors appointed Shear as interim CEO after a weekend of chaos at the company. Former CEO Sam Altman was ousted in a move that rocked the tech industry. Shear was part of the first batch of startup accelerator Y Combinator along with Altman. He is known as an outspoken advocate of safety in the development of artificial intelligence. Shear has shared a plan for the next steps at OpenAI, saying he would look to reform the startup’s management team and hire an independent investigator to dig into Altman’s departure.

What are Shear’s qualifications for the role?

Shear’s appointment as OpenAI CEO caused confusion across Silicon Valley. This is largely because in the hours before the announcement there were reports indicating that Altman might be reappointed. There were also questions about what Shear’s track record at Twitch might indicate about his leadership at OpenAI. However, some sources have given a mixed review of his suitability for the role. A senior Twitch employee, who worked with Shear for a number of years, described him as “highly intelligent but socially awkward” and not the best communicator. However, the same employee also said that Shear has an ethical core and that the move to OpenAI makes a lot of sense for him.

What are Shear’s plans for OpenAI?

Shear has shared a plan for the next steps at OpenAI. He said he would look to reform the startup’s management team. Also, he would hire an independent investigator to dig into Altman’s departure. He will also work to make sure OpenAI does not lose customers and partners. This is the core of how it generates revenues. Shear said that OpenAI will “reform the management and leadership team in light of recent departures into an effective force to drive results for our customers.”

    Shear said

“I have a three point plan for the next 30 days: – Hire an independent investigator to dig into the entire process leading up to this point and generate a full report. – Continue to speak to as many of our employees, partners, investors, and customers as possible, take good notes, and share the key takeaways. – Reform the management and leadership team in light of recent departures into an effective force to drive results for our customers.”

    Conclusion

Emmett Shear, the former CEO of Twitch and a partner at startup accelerator Y Combinator, has been appointed as interim CEO of OpenAI after the ousting of former head Sam Altman. • Outfit 3 trailer and info finally coming for Street Fighter 6 tomorrow

It’s been about five and a half months now since Street Fighter 6 first fully graced our lives, but there’s been something missing over that time.

Capcom revealed today that the wait for the Outfit 3 selection in SF6 is almost over with a trailer and more information dropping tomorrow, November 21.

According to their Japanese YouTube channel, the new trailer will arrive on Tuesday at 2 p.m. PST / 5 p.m. EST, so get your alarm clock set.

If it wasn’t apparent already, this round of costume releases is only going to apply to the 18 characters that were available at launch, so Rashid and A.K.I. aren’t going to be getting anything here.

The trailer will presumably show off all of the outfits in motion for the first time, and it is confirmed they will give us the release date.

Hopefully that means we’ll be getting the individual and bundle pricing as well, and double hopefully they aren’t set at like the expensive premium avatar costumes already in SF6.

Last week, Capcom confirmed that development on the new outfits was complete along with a glimpse at Jamie’s new design, so we pretty much new a full reveal was imminent.

Up until that point, however, we’d only seen the concept art for Guile, Marisa, Juri and Dee Jay as well as Ken, Cammy, Lily and Luke in prior months.

You’ll be able to watch the trailer when the time arrives right here or on the official YouTube page.

  • Nothing Chats App Removed from Play Store Due to Major Privacy Concerns!

nothing chats app removed from google play store because of privacy concerns

Apple’s iMessage is one of the most popular communication platforms. It is also the reason why many love their iPhones. But, iMessage is also the reason why many don’t switch to Android, as they don’t wish to be left out of group chats. And well, the green bubble shame is also a primary reason. Recently, Carl Pei announced the ‘Nothing Chats’ app to bring iMessage to Android. However, amidst security concerns, the app has been taken down from the Play Store.

According to a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), the company says it has removed its Nothing Chats beta app from the Play Store. The launch will be delayed “until further notice,” and Nothing said it will work with Sunbird (who built the technology that enabled iMessage functionality in Nothing chats) to “fix several bugs.”

Nothing also added that it will ‘do right by our users‘, so there is hope that the company has plans to work on these issues. But what are these issues and should you be worried? Let’s look into it.

Privacy & Security Concerns in Nothing Chats App: Details

Nothing Chats App Replicates iMessage Functionality on Android
Nothing Chats Beta brings iMessage on Android; but was found to be insecure

As revealed by a teardown of the app by select Android app developers and security researchers, the Nothing Chats app is not secure at all. While Nothing and Sunbird claim the iMessage emulating Chats app has ‘end-to-end encryption‘, it has been slammed down to be the opposite instead.

The discoveries show that various information such as contact information, message contents, and even attachment data, can all be hacked into. Apparently, the user data which is sent through Sunbird’s technology over HTTP, remains insecure during transit. Furthermore, it has been revealed that Sunbird can read all your messages and see the media you share with actual iMessage users using the Nothing Chats app. The investigations have been shared by a developer called Dylan Roussel on X (formerly Twitter).

Moreover, the team that developed WordPress & Tumblr, recently published its findings regarding Sunbird/Nothing Chats Security. It has pointed out three major issues: Data in transit vulnerability, Data at rest vulnerability, and Insider Threat / Data Exposure as well. You can read their detailed report at the link above.

So, what do you think of the Nothing Chats app being removed from the Play Store? Do you think the project will continue to be alive, and iMessage will come to Android after all? Would you use an app to emulate iMessage, despite the security concerns? Be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
