    intel core

The Intel 14th Gen processor lineup for desktops has already been released. However, amidst all the leaks and rumors, another chip has entered the scene. We are talking about the Intel Core i3-14100’s recent appearance which is based on the Raptor Lake Refresh architecture.

Intel 14th Gen Core i3-14100: Specs & Performance

The new leak comes via the hardware leaker @haruzake5719, via X (formerly Twitter), who has previously shared many details regarding the PC hardware industry. The Intel Core i3-14100 is going to be a quad-core processor in 2023. It has been mentioned that it will come with 4 cores & 8 threads. A base clock speed of 3.50 GHz is mentioned, and it does not support any turbo boosting either. So yes, this is obviously Intel’s entry-level processor that we can expect to be priced accordingly.

If you are wondering about the performance of the Intel Core i3-14100, we have actually seen an earlier leak regarding the benchmarks of this locked, non-K series Intel 14th Gen processor. This CPU had surfaced on Geekbench, and the above-mentioned leaked specs can be verified in the test result. This was originally shared via @Benchleaks on X (formerly Twitter).

The i3-14100 scores 2509 pts in Geekbench 6 Single-Core. On the multi-core side of things, it scored 8881 pts. These scores are in line with a modern Core i3 processor, and we do see a slight gain in performance here. The test was taken with 5600MHz RAM.

Intel 14th Gen Core i3-14100: Pricing & Availability

    Intel 13th Gen Raptor Lake
Intel’s 14th Gen is built on Raptor Lake ‘Refresh’

Intel’s Core i3-14100 Raptor Lake Refresh CPU has already been put on sale in China, according to the Goofish online listing (leak mentioned above). This entry-level i3 14th Gen has been priced at ~$120 at the Chinese retailer (CN¥ 850). This is quite similar to the pricing of the Intel 13th Gen i3-13100 processor. However, do note that these prices are not confirmed and could change. This Intel CPU has been mentioned in the complete Intel 14th Gen CPU lineup leak also. So yes, we have been hearing about it for a long time.

Speaking of availability, many expect Intel to launch more 14th-gen Raptor Lake Refresh processors for desktops in early 2024. They should be available in the market by CES 2024.

If you have Intel 12th Gen, would you consider upgrading to the Intel 14th Gen Core i3-14100 (supported with a BIOS update on many motherboards)? What are your thoughts on the i3-14100’s specs, performance, and price, as shown in the leaks above? Let us know in the comments below.

  • Android 14 removes the long pressing on app icons feature

With the release of Android 14, Google has removed the ability to long press an icon on the home screen to quickly see notifications from that app. This feature was useful for quickly checking notifications without unlocking the device, but it has been removed in the latest update. Previously, users could see notifications from an app simply by long-pressing an icon on the desktop or in the app list. If there are multiple notifications, only one full notification will be shown, along with a counter in the corner. Users can open the notification directly or slide it to delete it. This feature is useful for users whose notification bar is filled with various message reminders, and it goes well with notification dots.

In the Android 14 system, long-pressing an icon will only display app shortcuts, as well as app information, paused apps, and widgets. In fact, this change came during the Android 14 beta. Google said in August that this was intentional and “will not be fixed.” The stable version of Android 14 was launched on Pixel phones last month, and many users have asked to restore this feature.

The above-mentioned change only applies to the native Android system. This means that other Android skins like MIUI, One UI and others could still have this feature. In addition, most users may not view notifications by long pressing the app icon, so this change is not obvious to many users.

    Reasons for the Change

The primary reason for the removal of the long press feature for notifications is to streamline the user experience and reduce potential confusion for users. Long-pressing an icon to see notifications was a feature that was specific to Android devices. It was not universally understood by all users. By removing this feature, Android 14 aims to create a more consistent and user-friendly interface for all devices running the new OS.

    Implications for Users

The removal of the long press feature for notifications may have some implications for users. The impact will be mostly on users who rely on this feature for quick notification access. However, there are alternative ways to view notifications on Android 14:

    Gizchina News of the week

    1. Notification Panel: Android 14 still allows users to access notifications through the notification panel. Users can swipe down from the top of the screen to open the notification panel and view their notifications.

    2. App-Specific Settings: Some apps may have their own settings to enable or disable notifications. Users can check the app-specific settings to see if there is an alternative way to view notifications.

    3. Third-Party Launchers: Users who want to customize their home screen experience can explore third-party launchers. These launchers are available in the Google Play Store. These launchers may offer additional features and customization options, including the ability to view notifications through a long press on app icons.

    Other Changes in Android 14

In addition to the removal of the long press feature for notifications, Android 14 has introduced several other changes and improvements:

    1. Themed Icons: Android 14 has introduced a feature called “Themed Icons”. It allows users to customize app icons to match their device’s Material You theme. However, this feature has been reported to cause some issues with the Wallpaper & style app in the beta version. This causes it to crash whenever users open it.
    2. Other Features: Android 14 has also introduced other features and improvements. This includes improved privacy and security settings. There are also auto-updates for apps and the system, and enhanced accessibility options.

    Final Words

The removal of the long press feature for notifications in Android 14 is a significant change. If you use this feature, then be prepared for the change. However, there are alternative ways to view notifications, and users can explore third-party launchers for more customization options. As Android 14 continues to evolve, users can expect more changes and improvements to enhance their user experience.

  • All-Star Battle R’s final Season Pass 2 character

Wonder of U has been revealed as the next and final DLC character of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R’s Season Pass 2. As of right now, it’s not known if there will be a Season Pass 3, so this could potentially be the final DLC character for the game.

A minute long teaser trailer was dropped on Bandai Namco’s YouTube channel. Of course, this teaser trailer simply only revealed Wonder of U and refrained from showing off any gameplay.

Uniquely, Wonder of U is actually the Stand of Toru. This is the first time that a Stand was the playable character instead of the Stand user. Due to this, it’s unknown what role Toru will play in Wonder of U’s gameplay.

Wonder of U is said to be an artificial Stand that is sentient, making him different from other Stands. Toru and Wonder of U are also the seventh antagonists of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure series. Even after Toru is killed, Wonder of U is still able to act on its own.

“Calamity Manipulation” is said to be Wonder of U’s main power. Essentially, Wonder of U is able to manipulate negative energy that’s independent from the Stand. Upon usage, terrible event will fall upon its intended target. For example, Calamity Manipulation can make it so that opponents can suffer near-lethal wounds from mere rain drops.

Check out Wonder of U’s teaser trailer below:

  • Huawei says there are no plans to use HarmonyOS in non-Chinese models

According to Jiemian, Huawei stated that there are currently no plans to use HarmonyOS on global mobile phones. Non-Chinese users can continue to use Android apps with confidence through the Huawei Android skin, EMUI. In the future, Huawei will continue to increase its support for developers around the world. It will provide better development environments and tools and bring better experiences. Huawei said that its goal is to achieve greater business value.

    HarmonyOS PC

Many brands have previously reached cooperation with Huawei to launch HarmonyOS native application development, including Meituan, Qunar, etc. Data shows that as of August this year, the number of Harmony Ecosystem devices exceeded 700 million. The data also shows that 2.2 million developers have invested in the development of the Harmony Ecosystem. As of October 30, the number of devices upgraded to HarmonyOS 4 exceeded 100 million.

    HarmonyOS in Non-Chinese Models

Despite its efforts to develop and improve HarmonyOS, Huawei has stated that its plans to use HarmonyOS in non-Chinese models are not currently being utilized. This means that Huawei’s smartphones outside of China still use Android, while its Chinese counterparts use HarmonyOS.

Previously, there were reports that HarmonyOS will no longer be compatible with Android next year. Huawei has not yet responded to this. However, according to the Securities Times, industry insiders said Huawei does have internal plans to launch a version of HarmonyOS that is not compatible with Android next year. However, no relevant notice has been issued internally. So it is not clear when it will be launched. According to The Paper, a Huawei official said the launch time is still uncertain. The report also claims that in the future, HarmonyOS will not have any link with Android.

    Gizchina News of the week

    HarmonyOS: A Brief Overview

Huawei, the Chinese tech giant, has been working on its mobile operating system, HarmonyOS, since 2012. In 2019, the company launched HarmonyOS as a replacement for Android, with the aim of regaining market share in the smartphone industry.

    Huawei HarmonyOS 4

HarmonyOS is a distributed operating system developed by Huawei for various types of hardware, including smartphones, tablets, TVs, and smartwatches. It is designed to provide a unified software experience across multiple consumer electronics categories, similar to Apple’s ecosystem. The operating system has gone through several versions, with the latest being HarmonyOS 4, which was launched in August 2023.

Huawei’s smartphone business has been struggling overseas due to the lack of 5G support and the absence of key apps like Google. However, the company has been working on improving its HarmonyOS system, with an eye to regaining market share in the smartphone industry. The launch of HarmonyOS 4 highlights Huawei’s ambition to strengthen its smartphone business.

In addition to smartphones, Huawei has been working on expanding HarmonyOS to other devices, such as wearables, TVs, and in-car entertainment systems. The company has also launched Petal Chuxing, a ride-hailing app running on the new version of the operating system.

    Conclusion

Huawei’s HarmonyOS is a significant part of the company’s strategy to regain market share in the smartphone industry and create a unified software experience across multiple consumer electronics categories. However, it remains to be seen whether Huawei can successfully implement HarmonyOS in non-Chinese models and overcome the challenges posed by the lack of 5G support and the absence of key apps like Google.

  • AMD Threadripper Pro 7995WX Shatters Cinebench R23 World Record!

    AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) has launched its Threadripper 7000 lineup of processors, aimed at providing all the performance required for high-end computing. The competing CPU by Team Blue (Intel Xeon) currently does not even come close to how powerful AMD’s new Threadripper Pro 7995WX is. In a new benchmark scoring that shocked all of us, the AMD 7995WX has shattered the Cinebench R23 world record!

Ryzen Threadripper Pro 7995WX is built on a 5nm manufacturing process, with a max boost clock of 5.10GHz. The default TDP is 350W, but of course, the chip is unlocked for overclocking. It has a staggering 96 cores and 192 threads, being one of the flagship HEDT CPUs from AMD. With overclocking, many have broken the barrier and taken it way further.

Today, Elmor Labs has shared their overclocking results with AMD’s Ryzen Threadripper Pro 7995WX. The score they have achieved is 201,501 pts, and the benchmark was completed way too quickly. It was faster than anything I have ever witnessed. This also shows how puny Cinebench R23 becomes for the new Threadrippper 7000 high-end desktop CPU from AMD!

Elmor Labs overclocking AMD Threadripper 7000 processor

The world record has been broken for both the legacy Cinebench R23 and the latest Cinebench 2024 benchmark too. These are synthetic tests, and to give you an idea of how powerful the AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 7995WX is, it already achieves ~100K pts in the Cinebench R23 multi-core benchmarks (at its stock clocks).

This above score was facilitated with LN2 (liquid nitrogen) overclocking, in order to show the full potential of the chip. They were able to push it to 6.0 GHz, and the power consumption peaked at ~1600W. This is a truly amazing feat and shows how capable a desktop processor is available to consumers (albeit, very expensive).

In comparison to normal CPUs – the Intel Core i9-14900K, which we reviewed scored 38,571 pts in Cinebench R23. Of course, this result was below 300W. At AMD’s press day for the Ryzen Threadripper 7000, they broke several world records using air & water cooling. Quasarzone shared the below image taken at AMD’s event. It shows comparison results with previously held world records (as of October 10, 2023). The Intel Xeon W9 3495X is mentioned too, but everything was outperformed by the new Threadripper. A truly monstrous high-end desktop processor from AMD!

    Threadripper Pro 7995WX overclocking benchmarks

Do note that the comparison given by AMD is through overclocking as well, albeit with conventional high-end cooling solutions (air/water) and not liquid nitrogen. The Threadripper 7000 series is definitely impressive, and despite its cost, it will be popular among those who require the best performance no matter what.

Would you consider buying the AMD Ryzen Threadripper series? What are your thoughts on these scores and insane overclocking results done on the Threadripper Pro 7995WX? Let us know in the comments below.

  • YouTube’s Battle Against Adblockers: Slow Loading Videos

YouTube, the ubiquitous video platform we all know and love, stands as the unrivaled titan in the realm of streaming services. Constantly evolving, it has now ventured into the realm of artificial intelligence (AI)-generated content. However, the recent buzz surrounding YouTube is not about its futuristic AI endeavors or potential benefits; instead, it revolves around a more immediate concern – the delay in loading of videos, prompting users to question if YouTube is losing its user-centric touch.

The Hidden Culprit Behind Slow Video Loading on YouTube Revealed: Ad Blockers

In our tech-savvy era, where Google’s influence extends far and wide, YouTube’s popularity remains unparalleled. The platform is gearing up for a noteworthy development – a potential price hike in our country, mirroring a global trend observed in other territories. While this could have raised eyebrows, it is the recent issue of slow video loading that has seized the spotlight, sparking a wave of discontent among users.

The problem is clear: videos are taking longer to load for users who opt for browsers other than Google Chrome. A seemingly straightforward issue, it has led many to point fingers at Google, speculating about potential foul play. However, the search engine giant has swiftly responded, dispelling any suspicions and attributing the sluggish loading to an unexpected culprit: ad blockers.

In a released statement, Google clarified that using an alternative browser is not the primary cause of slow video loading. Instead, the real culprit is the use of ad blockers. Google’s stance is clear – to sustain a diverse ecosystem of creators globally and ensure accessibility for billions, it encourages viewers with ad blockers to either enable ads on YouTube or consider YouTube Premium for an ad-free experience. The consequence of persisting with ad blockers, as per Google’s statement, is a suboptimal viewing experience, irrespective of the browser in use.

The statement, while providing clarity, raises questions about the user experience. The term “suboptimal viewing” may downplay the situation, but it underscores the dilemma faced by users who value ad-free content. It prompts reflection on the balance between a company’s pursuit of profitability and providing a seamless user experience.

Google’s move, though contentious, aligns with its broader strategy. YouTube, as part of the Google ecosystem, relies heavily on advertising revenue. While the delay in video loading may irk users, it serves as a reminder of YouTube’s commitment to advertising. Simultaneously, Google takes the opportunity to promote YouTube Premium as a viable alternative, emphasizing its ad-free model.

The abnormal loading behavior, as per Google, is a temporary measure. Yet, users report a nuanced truth, noting that the problem disappears when using Google Chrome. This has led to speculation that Google might be testing this change selectively on certain accounts, introducing a layer of logic to the situation, particularly when users deviate from Chrome. However, there are conflicting reports, with some users still experiencing issues even with browser extensions disabled.

    Gizchina News of the week

As users navigate this temporary inconvenience, the broader question lingers: What is YouTube’s ultimate goal with these maneuvers? Persistent rumors suggest that YouTube might be contemplating the complete blockage of ad blockers, a prospect that advertisers would undoubtedly welcome. The debate is open, and users are vocal about their experiences. Have you encountered delays in uploading YouTube videos? Is this issue confined to specific browsers? Share your thoughts in the comments as we continue to unravel the evolving landscape of online video content consumption.

    YouTube Ad Blockers

    Navigating the Ad-Blocking Landscape

Ad blockers have become increasingly popular in recent years, driven by a growing desire to control online advertising experiences. While they undoubtedly offer benefits to users, their impact on content creators and online publishers cannot be ignored.

For content creators, ad revenue is often a crucial source of income, enabling them to continue producing the content that users enjoy. When ad blockers are used, creators may see their earnings decline, potentially affecting the quality and quantity of content available.

Online publishers, who rely on advertising to support their operations, also face challenges when ad blockers are prevalent. With reduced ad revenue, publishers may struggle to maintain their websites and provide the services that users rely on.

    Seeking a Balanced Approach

The debate surrounding ad blockers is complex and multifaceted. While users appreciate the ability to control their online advertising experiences, content creators and online publishers depend on ad revenue to sustain their operations.

Finding a solution that addresses the concerns of all parties involved is essential. One approach could involve developing an opt-in system where users can choose to view ads in exchange for accessing premium content or services. This would provide users with a choice while still allowing content creators and publishers to generate revenue.

Ultimately, the goal should be to create a sustainable ecosystem that balances the needs of users, content creators, and online publishers. This will require collaboration and a willingness to explore innovative solutions that respect the interests of all stakeholders.

    Final Thoughts

The issue of ad blockers is a complex one, and there is no easy answer. On the one hand, it is understandable that Google wants to protect its revenue by discouraging users from using ad blockers. On the other hand, it is also understandable that users want to have a seamless and ad-free experience when watching YouTube videos. Ultimately, it is up to Google to find a way to balance these two competing interests.

    Additional Points

    • YouTube is not the only platform that is cracking down on ad blockers. Many other websites and apps are also taking steps to block ad blockers.
    • There is a growing movement of users who are opposed to ad blockers. They argue that ad blockers are harmful to the internet ecosystem because they prevent websites and apps from generating revenue.
    • The future of ad blocking is uncertain. It is possible that ad blockers will eventually be completely blocked from the internet. However, it is also possible that ad blockers will find new ways to circumvent these restrictions.

  • Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom Trailer 2 Teases a Deadly Black Manta

Aquaman And The LOst Kingdom Trailer

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is easily one of the most anticipated movies of this year. It will also be the last superhero movie release of 2023. Honestly, I don’t understand why people are talking badly about this movie because if we look at the Aquaman 2 trailers it does look very promising. Recently, a brand new trailer for Aquaman 2 was released and in this article, find out all about the second trailer for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

    Aquaman 2 Trailer Explained

    Source: YouTube/Warner Bros. Pictures

So the latest Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom trailer throws at us some pretty interesting details. At the beginning of this trailer, we get to see that Arthur’s son also has the powers his dad has. He can also talk to fish like Aquaman. However, Black Manta proves to be a fearful villain in this one as compared to the last Aquaman movie where his role was quite minimal. We see the Black Manta wielding the Black Trident and is most probably possessed by a much more powerful entity. In this Aquaman 2 trailer, it seems that Tom Curry, Aquaman’s dad, will be killed by Black Manta.

We get to see that the dying Tom tells Arthur that “He Took Junior”. It means that the Black Manta abducted Aquaman’s son. Now for those of you who don’t know, in all of superhero comic history, Black Manta is the only supervillain to kill a baby. Any Guesses whose baby? Yeah, you guessed it right, Aquaman’s. Now I don’t know if he is going to do that in this movie or not, but if he does, I for one is walking out with a brand new trauma from the theaters.

Is Amber Heard Still in Aquaman 2?

Oh, I almost forgot, in this trailer, there are no scenes including Amber Heard’s Mera which was quite expected considering the whole Johnny Depp situation. Following the courtroom war between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp, the careers of both the actors have been affected. Amber Heard was all set to make a reappearance in Aquaman 2 but her screentime in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom has been cut down significantly. Amber Heard is still in Aquaman 2 but with a screentime of just 8 minutes

At last, all I’d say is Aquaman 2 looks very well done whether you judge it based on the VFX, color schemes, or screenplay. Moreover, another important factor is that this movie will officially be the end of the Aquaman franchise and from the trailer, it seems that Jason Momoa wants to make a grand exit. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is releasing in theaters on December 22, 2023.

  • ETaker M2000 aims to be the most cost effective power station of the year

Power stations are already becoming quite popular, as the demand for backup electricity is skyrocketing worldwide. Especially the smaller models are very convenient in many ways and can solve the power problem in vacation homes, while camping or just purely at home. And one very interesting model just like that is about to get launched on Kickstarter with the ETaker M2000. This power station looks extremely compact and should be the smallest and lightest 2kWh portable power supply in the world. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg so let’s take a closer look at the other main features.

    Small and quiet power beast

As mentioned before, the power station is a very compact one with dimensions just 25.8×21.6×35.5cm and 17kg of weight. That’s achieved thanks to several new key features and tech included. Starting with the new type of semi-solid-state battery with higher density, third gen GaN converter with high power density and integrated alloy shell design. Total output is still very respectable 2kWh (2008Wh to be exact), so can supply power to various range of power hungry devices.

    ETMaker M2000

Using the third gen GaN inverter with over 95% efficiency and both active and passive heat dissipation modes also allows for a very quiet operation of the power station. ETaker M2000 is 60% lower in noise levels than other similar products. Under 1kW it’s actually running with almost zero noise. And even on higher power levels it won’t ruin the ambience. So it will be a perfect companion for enlosed spaces and such.

Rugged design to withstand harsh environments

ETaker M2000 is certainly not afraid of outdoor usage and harsh environments. Thanks to built-in battery pre-heat technology you can really use it even in very cold temperatures up to -30°C. Yes the automatic system will allow only for discharge with low power in such conditions, but it will be still working. And with the IP63 dust resistance working on top of that for protection it can withstand even 1.2-meter drop and impact. Ideal power station for complex and harsher environments in general.

    Gizchina News of the week

Plenty of ports and security measures

With ETaker M2000 you have plenty of output power available and you can even charge or power various devices simultaneously. For that you of course also need plenty of ports and options to do that. And the power station certainly doesn’t disappoint. We are getting 14 total ports, including 2 regular USB ports (12W each), 2 QC4.0 60W USB-A ports, 2 PD3.0 100W USB-C ports, one 150W car cigarette lighter socket, one 12V 150W XT60 output port and 6 AC output ports in total. For security and safety there are also three redundancy systems – CMS, BMS and EMS, all working in tandem. The semi-solid battery is even safer than other kinds of batteries as well.

Link-up power station for even better backup experience

Single unit of ETaker M2000 has the 2kWh capacity and power output of 2kW. But how about linking up to 10 of them together ? You can really connect 10 devices together thanks to the AC_Link technology and expand the power capacity and AC output to 20kWh and 16kW respectively. Easy to set-up just right amount of power you need. And the recharging of the power station is also there with numerous options. Ideally combining some of the SuperCharge flash charging tech for AC chagring, solar fast charging or 500W vehicle fast charging.

    Crowdfunding campaign starting soon

The crowdfunding campaign for ETaker M2000 should be starting very soon and you can already subscribe there to be notified about the actual launch. And we already know, that the early bird prices will be quite a steal. It will go down from the $2199 MSRP to a final price of just $1099. So make sure to check out this new and coming powerhouse.
