Dr. Betta Edu is the Commissioner for Health in Cross River State, South South Nigeria. She was appointed Commissioner in December, 2019 by the state governor, Senator Ben Ayade.
In 2016, she was appointed as the Special Adviser to the Governor on Primary Health Care. Later on, a Bill was passed by the Cross River State House of Assembly to establish the Cross River State Primary Health Care Development Agency (CRSPHCDA). After the creation of the agency, Dr Edu was then appointed as Director General of the agency.
