    Anambra North Takes Delivery Of 5 General Hospitals As Senatorial Aspirant Odili Empowers 7 Council Areas

    Anambra North Senatorial District has taken delivery of the five General Hospital constructed by Gov Charles Soludo in the last three years.

    Similarly the District has also commissioned the over thirty five roads recently constructed by the Gov Charles Soludo administration a development the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA Bar Sylvester Ezeokenwa described as unprecedented in the annals of governance in Anambra state.

    Speaking at the reception organized by the Senatorial Aspirant of the party for Anambra North District and former Chief of Staff to Gov Willie Obiano Chief Primus Odili Ezeokenwa noted that “We have witness great transformation in Anambra North Senatorial District under the regime of Gov Charles Soludo and the developmental strides has been unprecedented in the annals of governors in our zone,” he said.

    Ezeokenwa announced that the zone has taken delivery of the five General Hospitals constructed by Governor Soludo in Anambra North Senatorial District, as well as the recent award won by Anambra State as the best in Primary Healthcare in the South East region and Nigeria, with other several awards as the best in ICT among others.

    “We all know that Governor Soludo’s infrastructural projects began in Okpoko, in Ogbaru local government area of Anambra North which was once a slum but has now been transformed into a “New Haven,” complete with good road networks, pipe-borne water, and a General Hospital.”

    “We have seen the construction of 10 roads in Onitsha South LGA, including Niger Street Fegge, Onitsha, which connects the Head Bridge to the Main Market in Onitsha with over twenty roads in the zone at various stages of completion,” he said.

    Ezeokenwa expressed the felicitations of the party to Chief Primus Odili for hosting the APGA faithfuls from Anambra North Senatorial District and encouraged other stakeholders to emulate such gestures in the spirit of the season and in alignment with the APGA doctrine of “Be Your Brother’s Keeper.”

    The host Chief Primus Odili stated that he chose to empower his party members from his zone with food items adding that it is in line with the motto of the party adding that come 2025 the zone has resolved across party affiliations to endorse the second term bid of Gov Charles Soludo.

    “Mr Governor had no challenger because they will be talking about what they would do when they come into office while Soludo would be commissioning projects and flagging off new ones.”

    “So we the people of Anambra North Senatorial District has across parties endorsed Gov Charles Soludo for second term because of the great development that he has put in place in our zone hence there is no vacancy in Anambra Government House,” he said.

    Gunmen kill five security operatives, two others in Anambra

    Gunmen operating in Ihiala Local government area of Anambra State have killed seven people. The incident happened on Monday.

    It was gathered that out of the seven person killed, two were unarmed civilians who were in a compound planning a burial that was to take place on January  2, while the other were security operatives.

    A viral video being circulated on social media showed the body of two of the victims, who are member of Anambra State Vigilante Group (AVG).

    Meanwhile, the state police command’s spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga has confirmed the incident. In a press release, he said the commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam has ordered immediate manhunt of the assailants.

    He said the incident happened at about 11.20am, and that the attack resulted in the death of seven persons among which are two unarmed passers-by.

    He said: “The Joint Security Team rescued one of the victims who is currently responding to treatment in a hospital.

    “The CP while on an on-the-spot assessment visit to the scene interviewed some eye witnesses of the incident. Information also had it that the armed men started shooting sporadically at a venue where preparations are ongoing for a burial ceremony slated for 2nd of January, 2025.

    “Also, while escaping the scene, the armed men shot at two Security Operatives at a security Observation Post close to the Local Government Headquarters by the Express Road.”

    Ikenga said the CP has extended his condolences to the families and friends of those who lost their lives, especially the good people of Ihiala over the sad incident. He further assured that the perpetrators would be hunted down.

    Barely days after the Anambra State Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Felix Chinedu Odimegwu, warned residents against burning of tires, Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra, OCHA Brigade has arrested four suspects for violating the warning on the newly constructed club road, formerly Abakiliki street in Awka, the state capital.

    The Managing Director of the Brigade, Comrade Celestine Anere who led the taskforce team to the area, on Saturday ,frowned at people’s attitudes towards public infrastructure, especially the roads and expressed the willingness of the Brigade to arrest and prosecute any one found wanting.

    The OCHA brigade boss, used the occasion to call on residents, landlords and community leaders to take responsibility of protecting government property and projects as the law is not a respecter of anyone.

    One of the arrested suspects, Mr. Jeremiah Izuchukwu pleaded for forgiveness and said that he was not responsible for the burning of tires on the roads but knew those who did.

    Anambra nonagenarian praises Soludo for appointing son Chief of Staff

    A ninety two year-old woman and mother of Chief of Staff to the Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Charles Soludo, Lady Christiana Mgboye Ezeajughi, has render praises to the governor for appointing one of her nine children, Mr Ernest Ezeajughi as Chief of Staff.

    She praised the governor while celebrating her 92nd birthday anniversary at her country home, Osikwu Village, Awgbu community, in Orumba North Local Government Area of the State on Saturday.

    She said she would continue to support the governor in prayers to enable him actualized his vision of making Anambra a peaceful, secure, livable and prosperous state in Nigeria.

    It’s worth recalling that Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi was among the first three appointment governor Soludo made shortly after his swearing-in in March 17th, 2022.

    Praising further, the nonagenarian said, “I am very grateful to governor Soludo for appointing my son as his Chief of Staff. I would continue to support him (the governor) in prayer to ensure he actualized his vision of making Anambra a livable and prosperous state in Nigeria.

    “The governor has performed beyond expectation within two years and eight months in office in all sectors of the economic. His worthy to be praised by all. I prayed that his second term election come 2025 will be won 21/21. I also pray God to continued to support his wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo on her Healthy living crusade in the state.”

    The nonagenarian while thanking God for blessing her and her late husband, Mr. Ezeajughi with eight children, six men, and three women, and many grand and great grandchildren. advised young people to avoid bad lifestyles in order to live long on earth.

    In his remark, Governor Soludo, represented by his Chief of Protocol, Mr Chinedu Nwoye commended the Ezeajughi’s family for celebrating their mother while still alive, saying that such aligns with his message to young people, and should be emulated by others.

    The Chief of Staff, Mr. Ezeajughi who spoke on behalf of others siblings, thanked God for blessing their mother with longevity and appreciated those that came to share their joy, even announced that the family will pay school fees of 200 school children in the community in honour of their mother.

    It was celebration galore at Umuru village Nnobi Idemili-South Local Government Area of Anambra State, the country home of a renowned medical doctor Dr. Mike Omenugha (Ichie Obama) where people thronged to obtain Christmas largesse such as bags of rice and other gift items.

    The Christmas funfair being organized for the people of Idemili-South by the Omenughas has become an annual festival such that the Omenughas now deploy it as a veritable platform to give back to the society from the little God has given them and to also thank God profoundly for the gift of life as well as his abundant blessings.

    Dr. Nelson Obinna Omenugha the Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo on Youth Empowerment Programmes and the son of Dr. Mike Omenugha told Journalists, on Wednesday, that the occasion was used to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ whom he said died on the Cross of Calvary to save man from eternal condemnations.

    He said that the whole ward chairmen and women leaders of all the wards in Idemili-South, the Youths Earnestly Support Soludo (YESS) and the Super Canvassers all from Idemili-South came for the celebration and the Omenughas in a very special way wished them merry christmas and a prosperous new year ahead.

    Though he said that the occasion was brief but very impactful because it was used to remind all and sundry that they existed and there is a purpose for living. That God in his infinite mercies preserved everyone from January till date by his own specific reasons, adding that there is a dire need for people to discover why they were on earth and live a life of impact.

    He said that the Honourable member representing Idemili-South state constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly Mr. Ebuka Igwe was present on the occasion. That his mother Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha the Acting Vice Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University supported the gathering because she has shared vision of prosperity and humanitarian service with Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo.

    He said they were following the footsteps of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo whom he said not only believes in human capital development but also in qualitative human empowerment. Dr.NOO noted that Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha supported the celebration with all the Christmas gift items ranging from bags of rice and others. He added that the Omenughas have been celebrating Christmas for the people of Idemili-South for the past eight years.

    Nelson stated that his mother Prof. Kate Omenugha not only celebrated the annual christmas funfair for Idemili-South but also organized activities within the year to appreciate APGA faithful in Idemili-South too, adding that his mother has been doing a lot to uplift the people of Idemili-South council area.

    He said for him, his is to build on what the mother is doing and to let people know the great works of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo especially in Idemili-South Local Government Area inorder to deepen mobilization for the APGA government and for Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo.

    He said Idemili-South is united for APGA on all fronts to make sure that Soludo is reelected and continues in office and equally ensure that APGA is well rooted in Idemili-South.

    According to him, government presence is obvious in Idemili-South as the road dualisation project passed through his community Nnobi even as he was cognisant that it is on record that the present state government resolved the gully erosion menace at Nnobi -Nkpor road within 7 days of its inception, noting Nnobi community is one of the highest beneficiaries of the Soludo administration.

    The governor’s aide on youth empowerment programmes further disclosed that the Nnobi-Ekwulobia road was also constructed and tarred by the present administration. He said Nnobi will reelect Soludo 100% because he has exceeded everyone’s expectations.

    Meanwhile the President-General of Nnobi community Barr. Okpala Dominic Savio, who was one of the very distinguished personalities that graced the 2024 Christmas celebration organized for Idemili-South by the Omenughas, stated without mincing words that the philanthropy exhibited by the Omenughas can not be explained by mere words of mouth.

    Okpala stated that the acting VC of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha has been a formidable ally of the APGA movement just as he also pointed out that the Omenugha family has made APGA very thick in Nnobi community; thanking them for how they have been assiduously projecting and promoting the achievements and good works of the governor in Nnobi and beyond while making a case for what the Omenughas are doing in Nnobi community to be replicated in other communities across Anambra State.

    Highpoint of the funfair was the peaceful and orderly distribution of bags of rice and other Christmas largesse to all who attended the annual christmas party organized by the Omenugha dynasty of Nnobi community Idemili-South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

    People of Amawbia community, majorly the youths in Awka South local Government Area of Anambra State, on Friday, protested what they unanimously described as multiple crisis creating disunity in their town.

    The protesters numbering about 400 barricaded the State Government House along the Enugu-Onitsha Highway Awka, with placards with various inscriptions such as; Current Amawbia Town Union ATU corrupt, President General PG leading selfish agenda, election team hidden with agenda, Goddy Aronu urgently sold community land, we don’t want trouble in Amawbia, election will bring trouble, we want peace in Amawbia, new constitution before election, we want support from governor Soludo to create a better Amawbia, give us fresh electoral committee, we want election with new electoral committee, among others.

    They were.chanting songs of solidarity while calling on Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo to give them urgent attention by resolving the crisis rocking their community at the moment.

    They listen illegal sales of community land by some land grabbers in the town, inability to elect a Traditional ruler, a President General and factional leadership crisis as the major challenges disrupting the peace of the community.

    Speaking further in an interview with Journalists shortly after handing over the protest letter to the State Government officials, the leader of the protesters, Mr Emma Okafor, appeal to governor Soludo to set up a committee to look into the matters that have been fuelling crisis in the community.

    According to Okafor, the purposed of this protest is to let the State Government know what Amawbia community is currently passing through under the leadership of Comrade Goddy Aronu, the President General of Amawbia community. We are also here to appeal to governor Soludo to cancel the forthcoming President General election scheduled to hold on the 30th December, 2024. We can not afford to conduct the election amidst crisis. We want the PG election cancel. Four out of the six contesters of the election has no confidence with the electoral committee, the process should be cancelled. Our community has been taken over by land grabbers, sponsor by people who does not want peace to reign in our town. We want peace. We want peace and unity in our community. The government should set up a committee to look into the matters.

    “We are tired of imposition of President General on us by some few individuals who have been selling our lands and committing other atrocious acts in the town. We want the election to be put on hold until peace returned to our community,” Mr Okafor concluded.

    The government officials while receiving the protest letter, promised the people that the governor will attend to their challenges in no distance time.

    They also urged them to maintain peace to avoid break down of law and order.

    Umuawulu community in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State witnessed a remarkable act of generosity on Tuesday, December 24th, 2024, as High Chief Ndubuisi Christopher (Ikenga Umuawulu), Chairman and CEO of Pinnatech Group shared rice with community members and neighboring villages.

    The event began with a thanksgiving Mass held at the compound of High Chief Ndubuisi Christopher, setting the tone for a day dedicated to love and giving. Speaking after the Mass, notable individuals praised Ikenga Umuawulu for his consistent acts of philanthropy.

    Pharm. Henry Iloh, from Ezinato community, highlighted the impact of Chief Christopher’s numerous contributions to churches, schools, individuals, and communities, describing them as “overwhelming and transformative.” Similarly, Hon. Don Onyenji, the Anambra State Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment, and Tourism, commended Ikenga Umuawulu for his outstanding benevolence. He specifically mentioned a tricycle gifted to Gozie Anene from Akwaeze, the winner of the Iri Jị Festival, further lauding the rice distribution initiative as a testament to Ikenga’s unwavering commitment to uplifting others.

    In his speech to the gathered crowd, High Chief Ndubuisi Christopher reflected on the growing hunger crisis in the nation and emphasized the importance of communal support. “This is a season to share love and remind ourselves of the beauty of unity. No gift is too small when it comes from a place of love,” he said. He acknowledged the critical role of mothers, referring to them as the “shepherds of the family,” and urged them to remain steadfast in prayers and in nurturing their households.

    The frontline All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant for the November 8th, 2025, gubernatorial election in Anambra State, Sir Paul Chukwuma, has called for brotherly love and kindness among Nigerians during this Christmas season and beyond.

    Delivering his Christmas message at his Nneyi, Umueri country home in Anambra East Local Government Area of the State, on Wednesday, Sir Chukwuma described Christmas as a special time for Christians to reflect on the sacrificial love of Jesus Christ by giving and sharing with others.

    “Christmas is a time to rise as one and demonstrate our shared humanity. We show love to mankind, as Christ our Saviour did, making no distinction between Jews and Gentiles. The birth of Christ offers mankind an opportunity for re-birth and renewal. Christmas itself is an act of love,” Sir Chukwuma stated.

    He emphasized that the essence of Christmas reminds Christians of the importance of love, forgiveness, kindness, mercy, and joy. By practicing these virtues, both during Christmas and beyond, Sir Chukwuma said Christians fulfill the mission of Christ and embody the true meaning of Christianity.

    The leading APC aspirant for the November 8th, 2025 gubernatorial election in Anambra State, Sir Paul Chukwuma has condoled with families who lost their relatives in the tragedy that tainted the distribution of Christmas gifts in Okija, Anambra State at the weekend.

    Expressing deep shock at the scope and nature of the stampede which claimed many lives, Sir Chukwuma observed that the incident had brought untold grief and sadness to Ndi Anambra in a season of love.

    “Ndi Anambra, this tragedy has touched us all but it must not be allowed to break the Anambra spirit; our sense of community, our legendary philanthropy and our belief that wealth has no meaning until it brings relief and happiness to ordinary people,” Sir Chukwuma advised.

    Observing that the people’s communal spirit had always risen to its peak when social conditions deteriorate, Sir Chukwuma urged Anambra’s wealthy indigenes not to be discouraged by the Okija incident but rather to task their imagination harder and come up with clever ways to reach out and touch their communities this Christmas.

    Noting that the mystery of life was so complex that sometimes, a well-intended effort to heal and bring succour to people could lead to unexpected outcomes, Sir Chukwuma called for a collective introspection and prayers for the peaceful repose of the souls of the dead and a speedy healing for their loved ones.

    “We are in mourning. I have directed my campaign council to suspend the planned physical distribution of Christmas gifts to various communities for now and to quickly come up with a strategy that will be of minimum discomfort to the intended beneficiaries,” Sir Chukwuma explained

    Speaking further, he said, “my family and I shall continue to hold the grieving families up in our prayers and ask God to grant them a speedy healing from their irreparable losses.”

    It would be recalled that an effort by a well-known and highly respected Anambra born philanthropist to distribute Christmas gifts to people in Okija town in Anambra State had resulted in a stampede that claimed many lives at the weekend.

    He said that he specializes in residential property and is also a developer. Chief Obika noted that many of Nigeria’s leading estate companies have emerged from Rock-Link Real Estate Company.
