  • Mo. parents allegedly performed circumcision on son at home with 'utility tool'

MORGAN COUNTY, Mo. (TCN) — A married couple face child abuse charges for circumcising their son at home despite having no medical background or expertise.

According to the probable cause statement, on Nov. 28 at 8:11 a.m., the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a Department of Family Services case worker who said a child was brought to Columbia University Hospital due to a circumcision at home that “did not go as planned.” The child’s parents, Tyler Gibson and Bailey Gibson, reportedly took the boy to Lake Regional Hospital on the night of Nov. 27 and he was transferred to University Hospital, but they left after four hours because they “grew tired of waiting.”

A Morgan County detective went to the Gibsons’ home and spoke with them about the situation. Tyler Gibson told the detective he was not medically trained, but he “conducted research and prayed a blessing” before the operation. He reportedly used a “utility tool” to perform the circumcision, and he “placed pads to catch the blood and sterilized the blade.”

The court document says Gibson “wasn’t prepared for the amount of bleeding,” so he and his wife took the boy to the hospital.

Bailey Gibson admitted to helping her husband, though she was “very hesitant and unsure about performing the procedure.” She reportedly did not respond when the detective asked why they did it anyway.

Tyler Gibson informed the detective that the blade he used was in his room on top of a frame, but the detective could not find it when he searched the home.

Bailey Gibson and Tyler Gibson were arrested on charges of abuse or neglect of a child, while Tyler Gibson is also being charged with unauthorized practice of medicine or surgery. Court records show they both bonded out of jail.

  • Canadian man obsessed with woman allegedly flew to Calif., posed as delivery driver, and stabbed her

MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (TCN) — Authorities recently arrested two Canadian suspects in an alleged plot to kill a woman one of them met through a video game.

According to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office, on the night of Nov. 25, deputies responded to multiple reports of a stabbing on Bollenbacher Drive in Salinas. Authorities found three people, including one of the suspects, who had all sustained injuries consistent with a stabbing, and they were transported to a local hospital with minor to critical injuries. The three individuals will likely survive.

Sheriff’s office detectives determined 25-year-old Devin Vandorhoef met a woman through a gaming platform, and he “developed a year’s-long obsession with the victim.” Vanderohoef allegedly traveled from Canada to California with 25-year-old Darius Whyte, where Vandorhoef allegedly posed as a delivery driver and knocked on the woman’s door while holding a package.

Authorities allege the female victim’s boyfriend opened the door. Vandorhoef allegedly “forced his way in and began stabbing the boyfriend with a knife resulting in multiple critical injuries.” The female victim reportedly retrieved a sharp metal object to defend her boyfriend, and she was strangled and stabbed during a struggle with Vandorhoef. Vandorhoef reportedly sustained numerous severe stab wounds during the incident.

According to the sheriff’s office, the package Vandorhoef was holding contained handcuffs, duct tape, and knives, but investigators say it “is unknown how these items were intended on being used.”

Officials reportedly spoke with Whyte near the scene, and he said he had “no knowledge of what happened.” However, upon further investigation, deputies determined Whyte acted as an accomplice, and he was aware of Vandorhoef’s intentions. Whyte was arrested on Nov. 26 while he was sitting on a plane preparing to return to Canada.

Vandorhoef remains held in the Monterey County Jail on over $4.1 million bail, while Whyte’s bail was set at $1 million. They each face charges of attempted murder and conspiracy to commit attempted murder. Vandorhoef also faces charges of mayhem, stalking, and burglary.

  • Man in prison for killing girlfriend charged with allegedly orchestrating wife's fatal shooting

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (TCN) — Police announced indictments against four people, including the victim’s husband, for allegedly luring a 23-year-old woman and fatally shooting her in her car in February.

The Prince William County Police Department shared in a statement that Lionel Carter, Grorethas McKinnon, and Denzel Wade are all being charged with aggravated murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, shooting at an occupied vehicle, and conspiracy to commit a felony. A fourth alleged co-conspirator, Drew Buchanan, is charged with aggravated murder and conspiracy to commit a felony. Carter and McKinnon are both already serving prison time for different offenses.

In the early morning hours of Feb. 2, officers responded to a shooting call near Bronson Court and Brickwood Drive in Woodbridge and found 23-year-old Egypt Carter suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Paramedics arrived and pronounced her deceased at the scene. Officials also located a dog in her vehicle, but it was unharmed and turned over to Animal Control.

Investigators allege Lionel Carter “conspired to have the victim killed.” The suspects allegedly “lured” Egypt Carter to the address in Woodbridge “under a ruse to allegedly pick up prescription narcotics for her husband.” However, when she got there, she was “ambushed and killed.” Police say Buchanan fired the fatal shots and Scott was with him.

WRC-TV reports Lionel Carter has been in prison for fatally shooting his 19-year-old girlfriend in 2014.

  • Fani Willis in Legal Trouble Again

    From Townhall:

A Fulton County court has found Democrat DA Fani Willis in default for failing to comply with court deadlines in an open records lawsuit brought by government watchdog Judicial Watch. As a result, the anti-Trump prosecutor is ordered to produce potential documentation of communications Willis may have had with Special Counsel Jack Smith’s office and the U.S. House select January 6 committee.
In March, Judicial Watch launched a lawsuit after Willis denied possessing any records responsive to an August 2023 public records request.
The organization, which investigates government misconduct, suggested in the civil action complaint that Willis likely lied about the purported lack of responsive records on hand.
As proof, Judicial Watch referenced a December 2021 letter Willis wrote to Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS), then chairman of the congressional January 6 committee. In the letter, Willis officially requested the committee’s help with her Trump investigation and offered to trek to Capitol Hill to convene at the committee’s convenience.

  • UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson killed outside New York hotel in alleged targeted attack

NEW YORK (TCN) — Police are searching for the gunman who fatally shot UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson outside a hotel shortly before he was set to speak at an investor conference this morning.

According to New York Police Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny, on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at approximately 6:46 a.m., officers responded to a report of a person shot outside the New York Hilton Midtown. At the scene, police located 50-year-old Thompson with gunshot wounds to his back and leg. Emergency medical services personnel transported Thompson to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Kenny said this does “not appear to be a random act of violence,” and New York Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch called it a “brazen, targeted attack.”

The unidentified shooter allegedly waited for the victim as he walked from his hotel to the Hilton for an investor conference. Police allege the shooter approached Thompson from behind and fired multiple rounds. Authorities recovered three rounds and shell casings from the scene.

Following the shooting, the suspect reportedly fled on foot into an alleyway before picking up an electric bike and heading toward Central Park.

Police have asked the public’s help in identifying the suspect and posted surveillance photos. He reportedly wore a black mask and grey backpack. Authorities have increased their reward to $10,000 for any information leading to an arrest.

According to Kenny, investigators are working with the electric bike company and are trying to identify a witness who was near Thompson during the incident. The motive is unknown.

In a statement, Tisch said, “Investigative efforts of the New York City Police Department are well underway, and we will not rest until we identify and apprehend the shooter.”
