  • Judicial Watch: New Records Reveal Barack Obama’s Presence at Emergency Scene of Obama Family Chef Drowning

    Updated 10/20/23 2:04

Unreleased Secret Service Video Footage Exists of Victim Entering Water and Secret Service Emergency Response

(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch announced today that it received 40 pages of records from the Massachusetts State Police that indicate the presence of Barack Obama for a witness interview in the death investigation of the Obamas’ personal chef Tafari Campbell. The records, which are heavily redacted, indicate Barack Obama arrived at the emergency response scene via motorcade. A short time later, a cold, wet woman, who was a witness, arrived. The next morning, the eyewitness was interviewed in the Obama residence, again with Barack Obama present. The records also detail the existence of a Secret Service video of Campbell and his paddleboarding companion entering the water, and the Secret Service emergency response in the immediate aftermath of the drowning. The State Police records show they concluded “no foul play” in Campbell’s “accidental” death.

The documents were produced to Judicial Watch in response to a July 25, 2003, Massachusetts Public Records Law request for all records relating to the death of Campbell.

The documents show Campbell’s family told police that he had taken swimming lessons in 2019 but described his ability as “not a great swimmer.” The drowning occurred in Edgartown Great Pond, which Massachusetts Environmental Police estimated “to be approximately seven to eight feet deep.”

The records also show a female eyewitness, an Obama employee whose name is redacted, told state police that she saw Campbell “fall off his paddleboard, began splashing and became extremely panicked, yelling for help and subsequently went underwater very quickly.” By the time she reached his paddleboard, the witness said Campbell had “disappeared into the extremely murky” water.

The records include a July 24, 2023, homicide/death report written by Mass. State Trooper Dustin Shaw that lists the details of the investigation into Campbell’s death. In the narrative portion Shaw writes:

On Sunday, July 23, 2023, at approximately 7:58 PM, [he] … was notified by the Dukes County Regional Emergency Communications Center of a possible drowning incident that originated from a 911 call at [redacted] in the Town of Edgartown, on Martha’s Vineyard, at 7:46 PM. The 911 caller was identified as [redacted], who identified himself as a United States Secret Service Special Agent. I am aware that [redacted] in Edgartown is a residence owned by [redacted]. I was informed that two (2) people on paddleboards had entered the water at Edgartown Great Pond, from the shore of [redacted], and one person was unaccounted for after being witnessed in distress going under the water and never resurfacing.

    ***

I located EFD [Edgartown Fire Dept.] Chief Schaeffer, and he informed me that two (2) paddleboarders launched two (2) separate paddleboards from the shoreline at [redacted] in Edgartown. Tafari CAMPBELL (DOB [redacted]) was identified as the missing paddleboarder and [redacted] (DOB [redacted]) was identified as the surviving paddleboarder. I was informed that CAMPBELL is the personal Chef of [redacted] and his family, and [redacted] is a staff member of [redacted], thus the reason they were both at the [redacted] residence prior to the incident.

    ***

EFD [Edgartown Fire Dept.] Chief Schaeffer went on to explain that CAMPBELL and [redacted] were paddleboarding together when [redacted] observed CAMPBELL on the board, in the standing position and suddenly lose his balance and enter the water, and struggle to stay above water. Chief Schaeffer informed me that [redacted] observed CAMPBELL go under the water, and never resurface. [Redacted] reportedly subsequently paddled back to shore to [redacted] and alerted a member of the U.S. Secret Service at a nearby security post. I was informed that USSS Special Agent [redacted] called 911 and reported the incident to the Dukes County Sheriff’s Department Regional Communications Center. Simultaneously, U.S. Secret Service Rescue Swimmers immediately deployed from the shore at [redacted] and began searching the immediate area and underwater for CAMPBELL, subsequently not locating him.

    ***

Campbell was … reported to be wearing a black tee-shirt, black shorts, and a black baseball cap at the time he entered the water…. I was informed that both CAMPBELL and [redacted] paddleboards had been recovered in separate locations along the shorelines on Turkeyland Cove, approximately several hundred yards from one another.

    ***

At approximately 8:40PM [redacted]’s motorcade arrived at the ICP [incident command post] and I was introduced to [redacted]. I … along with EFD [Edgartown Fire Dept.] Chief Schaeffer briefed [redacted] on the situation thus far, as well as the search and rescue efforts currently underway. A short time later, [redacted] arrived at the ICP and I was introduced to her. I observed that [redacted] was visibly emotional and was shaking from being cold and wet…. In a preliminary conversation I had with [redacted] and [redacted] [she] informed me that when she initially observed CAMPBELL fall off his paddleboard, began splashing and became extremely panicked, yelling for help and subsequently went underwater very quickly. [Redacted] stated that she immediately discarded her paddleboard and swam over to CAMPBELL as fast as she could in [an] attempt to rescue him. [Redacted] explained that by the time she reached CAMPBELL’S paddleboard, she was “too late,” and he had disappeared into the murky, very low visibility water. [Redacted] stated that she then utilized CAMPBELL’S paddleboard and returned to the shore at [redacted] to alert the Secret Service and activate emergency help, as neither she nor CAMPBELL had cellular phones with them at the time of the incident. [Redacted] stated that she left CAMPBELL’S paddleboard on the shore and ran to the nearest U.S. Secret Service security post and reported the incident to the first USSS Special Agent she saw (Special Agent [redacted]).

[Redacted] informed me that he and [redacted], [redacted] were not present at their residence ([redacted] Edgartown) at the time of the incident and had been out for dinner, therefore, CAMPBELL would not have been working for the evening. [Redacted] thanked us for our efforts and departed the ICP a short time later.

    ***

At approximately 7:55 AM, we arrived at [redacted] accompanied by SAIC [special agent in charge] Murray and SAIC Murphy. Upon arrival at the residence, we were introduced to [reacted] invited us into his residence, and we were directed into the office of [redacted], which was to be utilized to conduct the interview.

    ***

[Redacted] explained that on Sunday, July 23, 2023, she began her day at approximately 8:00AM helping CAMPBELL in the kitchen at [redacted] in Edgartown. Throughout the day, and into lunch time, [redacted] said it was a quiet day, and she was helping CAMPBELL design his Instagram page.

    ***

[Redacted] explained that approximately 6:10 PM, on July 23. 2023, she asked CAMPBELL if he wanted to go paddleboarding in Edgartown Great Pond, to which he agreed…. CAMPBELL walked from the residence to the shoreline of Edgartown Great Pond and obtained two paddleboards and two paddles from the [redacted] property.

[Redacted] explained to me that CAMPBELL was an inexperienced swimmer, and that CAMPBELL had been attempting to teach himself to swim at the pool at the residence over the years. [Redacted] also stated that CAMPBELL had told her in the past that he couldn’t swim.

[Redacted] explained that when she and CAMPBELL began paddleboarding, they both remained on their knees while they paddled in Edgartown Great Pond. [Redacted] continued to say that at one point, she stood up on the paddleboard, and then saw CAMPBELL attempting to stand up on his board shortly thereafter. [Redacted] stated that after approximately 30 seconds of standing, she observed CAMPBELL lose his balance on the board and saw him fall into the water. [Redacted] stated that she yelled to CAMPBELL to grab onto the board in front of him, however, she observed he quickly begin to panic while yelling for help. [Redacted] stated that she left her board and attempted to swim to CAMPBELL to help him, however, she said by the time she reached CAMPBELLS board it was ‘too late’, and he went under the water…. [Redacted] stated that neither she, nor CAMPBELL consumed any alcohol or drugs prior to paddleboarding.

    ***

At approximately 8:32 AM [redacted] agreed to again board a fire boat to assist with the recovery effort in [an] attempt to provide a more precise location as to where she last saw CAMPBELL in the water, now that it was daylight.

    ***

[Redacted] directed the fire boat to a location that she provided, to the best of her recollection as where she saw CAMPBELL go underwater. This location was marked with a buoy.

    ***

Upon our arrival back at the ICP [incident command post], we were informed that the Massachusetts Environmental Police (MEP) had arrived on scene and deployed Side Scan Sonar equipment to the area [redacted] identified and were searching that area, which was approximately 100-200 yards from the shore at [redacted]

    ***

At approximately 9:45 AM, I was informed that an area of interest had been identified by the MEP Side Scan Sonar, directly in the vicinity of where [redacted] identified last observing CAMPBELL.

At approximately 9:58 AM, we arrived on location as outlined by MEP [Massachusetts Environmental Police]. MSP [Mass. State Police] dive team members deployed into the water.

At approximately 10:00 AM, within minutes of entering the water, MSP divers recovered the body of a black male, fully submerged in the water … Divers estimated the water depth to be approximately seven to eight feet deep. I observed the body of a black make removed from the water and placed onto the deck of the boat…. I observed the male to be wearing a black t-shirt, black workout style shorts, and an Apple Watch on his left wrist, and a wedding band style ring on his left ring finger.

    ***

I met with CAMPBELL’S [redacted] and other family members and representatives on the CG [Coast Guard] dock in Menemsha. [Redacted] explained that CAMPBELL had taken swimming lessons in 2019 that consisted of one lesson a week for six weeks and described his swimming ability as “not a great swimmer.”

    ***

On Friday, August 18, 2023, I (Tpr. Dustin Shaw) was notified that the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) determined that Tafari J. CAMPBELL’S cause of death was a result of a drowning (submersion in a body of water), and the manner of death is accidental, as determined by OCME Dr. Anand Shah.

    ***

On Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at approximately 4:45 PM, I traveled to [redacted] in Edgartown and met with U.S. Secret Service SAIC Ben Murray for the purposes of viewing Secret Service surveillance footage of [redacted], Edgartown, from Sunday, July 23, 2023. My attention was drawn to a specific section of surveillance camera footage, beginning at approximately 6:54 PM on Sunday, July 23, 2023.

[I]t is my investigative opinion that the death of Tafari J. CAMPBELL is a result of an accidental drowning in Edgartown Great Pond, and is not criminal in nature, and foul play is not suspected. Property #4 is a flash drive containing autopsy photos.

Property #5 is a U.S. Coast Guard Station Menemsha log dated July 24, 2023. The comment section notes: “Tpr. Shaw retrieves US Coast Guard Station Menemsha Log dated “24JUL23” (1 page/double sided). Log signed by USCG Station Menemsha Command Staff.”

In a July 24 case master report, Shaw writes:

    • He was “briefed on situation by EFD [Edgartown Fire Department] Chief Alex Schaeffer” after Shaw arrived at the incident command post set up at Edgartown Great Pond, Wilsons Landing at 8:15 p.m. The report notes, “Chief Schaeffer identifies missing paddleboarder as Tafari CAMPBELL (DOB [redacted]).”
    • At 8:25 p.m., Shaw requested MSP Airwing assistance for a search of Edgartown Great Pond.
    • At 9:15 p.m., he boards a Secret Service boat, “along with USSS [Secret Service] Rescue Swimmers” to assist in searching for Campbell in Edgartown Great Pond.
    • At 11:30 p.m., Shaw disembarked from the USSS boat and returned to his command post, ended his duty that night and would return the following day at 5:00am.
    • At 7:55 a.m. on July 24, Shaw, along with Lt. Cosgrove, Capt. Benson and Major Farley of MSP arrived in Edgartown “for the interview of [redacted] (witness/survivor).” The entry notes, “Also present at the interview was USSS Special Agent Ben Murra [sic].”
    • At 10:00 a.m. Shaw was on board a Tisbury Fire Department boat along with a state police dive team, “at which time the body of a black male, matching the description of CAMPBELL was recovered from the Edgartown Great Pond…. Body was transported to CP [command post] at Wilsons Land[ing].”

The State Police write in their cover letter to Judicial Watch: “The Department conducted a diligent search of its records and is unable to locate any body worn and cruiser mounted video recordings. The Department is in the process of reviewing responsive records and will supplement this response.

A July 24, 2023, administrative log note lists the case as closed and includes the synopsis “US Secret Service Assistant Special Agent-in-Charge of the [redacted] Protection Detail [redacted], views and positively identified the body recovered from Edgartown Great Pond to be Tafari CAMPBELL (DOB [redacted]).”

“It is concerning that Judicial Watch had to push for several months to find out that Barack Obama was personally involved in the death investigation of his personal chef Tafari Campbell,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.

In August 2023, Judicial Watch released records it received from the Edgarton, MA, Police Department that show the Secret Service reported Obama’s Personal Chef Tafari Campbell missing and that the body was found using sonar. The records also detail that clothing was found separate from the body and that he was not wearing a life vest.

  • Alabama woman arrested after newborn found dead in dumpster outside mini mart

DECATUR, Ala. (TCD) — A 36-year-old woman is in custody after police reportedly found a newborn baby dead inside a dumpster this week.

According to a news release from the Decatur Police Department, on Monday, Oct. 16, officers were called to perform a welfare check on Cindy Crow, who was believed to have given birth recently. Police said they gathered evidence to confirm she had been pregnant as early as February, but her “newborn baby was unaccounted for.”

Investigators searched a dumpster outside Wally World Mini Mart on Point Mallard Drive SE and reportedly found a trash bag with a dead baby girl inside. Police said the trash bag had been stuffed to the bottom of the dumpster under other large trash bags.

The Alabama Department of Forensic Science will perform an autopsy on the newborn’s body.

On Wednesday, Oct. 18, police obtained a warrant for Crow’s arrest and apprehended her on a charge of abuse of a corpse. She was booked into the Morgan County Jail and remains held on $200,000 bond.

The investigation is ongoing, and further charges are possible pending more evidence and autopsy results.

  • Au pair accused of fatally shooting man who allegedly stabbed woman inside home

RESTON, Va. (TCD) — Police arrested a 23-year-old family au pair this week in connection with a double homicide following a months-long investigation.

According to a news release from the Fairfax County Police Department, on Feb. 24, at approximately 8 a.m., a family au pair called 911 and reported that her “friend was hurt.” Police said a man then got on the phone and claimed he shot an individual who entered the home and stabbed his wife.

Officers responded to the residence in the 13200 block of Stable Brook Way and found 37-year-old Christine Banfield in an upstairs bedroom suffering from stab wounds to her upper body. Banfield was transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

According to police, officers also found 39-year-old Joseph Ryan suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his upper body, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police called it an “appalling scene.”

According to Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis, there was a 4-year-old girl in the home at the time. She was unharmed.

Davis also said investigators do not believe it was a home invasion and that all four adults in the home knew each other.

In an update posted Oct. 19, police said they determined that the au pair, Juliana Peres, shot Ryan. She has been charged with second-degree murder and was booked into the Adult Detention Center without bond.

Police said the investigation is ongoing, and they’re looking into what led up to the fatal stabbing of Banfield.

  • Suspected serial killer's likely victim positively identified 30 years after his disappearance

HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. (TCD) — A man who went missing in 1993 was positively identified this week and named as the likely victim of a suspected serial killer who died in 1996.

WTHR-TV reports Hamilton County Coroner Jeff Jellison announced Allen Livingston’s remains were identified thanks to a DNA sample a relative provided to investigators near the end of 2022.

Livingston, 27, was reported missing in 1993. His bones were among the thousands of remains found at Fox Hollow Farm, which was once owned by suspected killer Herb Baumeister.

Jellison told WTHR, “We identified a man that was reported missing 30 years ago whose remains were part of 10,000 remains that were burnt and crushed, and we identified that person.”

Baumeister reportedly targeted gay men in Indianapolis during the 1980s and ’90s.

According to the Indianapolis Star, Livingston’s mother, Sharon Livingston, has terminal cancer, so Livingston’s cousin helped send the mother’s DNA to authorities. The cousin, Eric Pranger, told the Indianapolis Star he was “happy and sad at the same time” after learning Livingston was positively identified.

He said, “Happy because Sharon got some closure, and I’m sad because we got confirmation that it’s Allen. We were all just hoping that Allen was out there alive somewhere, but he’s not.”

Livingston’s relatives sent in the DNA after Jellison called on relatives who believed their loved ones could have been among Baumeister’s victims. The Indianapolis Star reports there were remains from at least 25 people found in 1996 at Fox Hollow Farm, but officials had only been able to identify eight of them until now.

Not all of the victims had been buried at Fox Hollow Farm. Other men, who were only partially clothed, were reportedly found in shallow water in Central Indiana and Ohio around the same time Baumeister was believed to have been targeting his victims.

The Associated Press reports Livingston’s remains were the first bones out of 44 sent to the Indiana State Police Laboratory. Thirty other families have sent in samples in the hope their loved ones will be identified.

Jellison said, “What are the odds, out of 10,000 remains? Out of 10,000, we selected 44 and the first identification is a person from the family that initiated this whole thing. Where does that come from?”

According to WXIN-TV, Baumeister’s son discovered a skull on June 24, 1996, while walking on the large property. He reportedly showed it to his mother, but she said Baumeister just kept it as part of his medical business. Days later, Hamilton County firefighters located additional remains at the farm.

Baumeister and his wife were reportedly in the middle of divorcing when their son found the skull. On June 25, 1996, a judge approved a protective order Baumeister’s wife filed on behalf of her and her three kids, WXIN reports.

Then, a few days later, Baumeister fled to Canada and killed himself.

WTHR reports Jellison said Livingston’s identification is “no more or no less important than number two, number three, number 10. We’ve got to continue to put our nose back to that grindstone, get back to work.”

  • Indiana woman accused of helping her mother fatally poison husband

JACKSON COUNTY, Ind. (TCD) — A recent burglary investigation led to the arrest of a 29-year-old woman for allegedly helping her mother poison and kill the mother’s husband in 2022.

According to a news release from Jackson County Sheriff Rick Meyer, on Sept. 19, Marsha Allen reported a burglary at her home on North State Road 135. Upon further investigation, the Sheriff’s Office identified two men, Steven White and Nathaniel Kane Napier, as the primary suspects.

It was determined that Allen’s daughter, Ashley Jones, helped the men burglarize the home.

According to an affidavit obtained by WXIN-TV, the suspects stole firearms and jewelry.

During an interview with White, he reportedly said Allen had “murdered her husband by poisoning him somehow.”

Meyer said investigators searched Allen’s cellphone and uncovered text messages between her and her daughter in which they “discussed murdering Marsha’s husband, Harold Allen, by poisoning” him in December 2022.

According to Meyer, officers confiscated additional electronic devices from Allen’s home to find further evidence. Authorities also interviewed and released Allen as they continued their investigation.

On Monday, Oct. 16, at approximately 7:52 p.m., Marsha Allen’s family contacted the Sheriff’s Department because they were unable to contact her. Officers responded to Allen’s home and found her dead with “no signs of violence.”

Officers interviewed Jones the next day, and she “confessed to ordering ethylene glycol off the Internet,” but she claimed her mother was “the person who had placed the ethylene glycol in Harold’s drink.”

On Wednesday, Oct. 18, the Sheriff’s Office arrested Jones on charges of murder, conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder, and burglary. She remains held in the Jackson County Jail.

White and Napier were charged with burglary of a dwelling, conspiracy to commit burglary of a dwelling, and theft.

    The investigation is ongoing.

  • Man convicted of killing his wife during fight over home renovations, then leaving her body in bathtub

ORLANDO, Fla. (TCD) — A jury convicted a 55-year-old man this week of killing his wife in 2018 because they got into an argument about appearing on a home renovation television show.

The State Attorney’s Office for the Ninth Judicial Circuit announced Wednesday, Oct. 18, that David Tronnes was convicted of first-degree murder for killing his wife, Shanti Cooper-Tronnes, five years ago.

Tronnes beat his wife to death April 24, 2018, at their home in Delaney Park because of “a dispute concerning home renovations.” According to the statement, Tronnes “spent thousands of dollars on renovations and had hopes of appearing on the reality television show ‘Zombie House Renovations.’”

Cooper-Tronnes, however, did not want to appear on the show, which led to issues in their relationship.

They slept in different rooms during the renovation process. The State Attorney’s Office says Tronnes alleged he found Cooper-Tronnes dead in the bathtub after he was out cleaning and walking their dogs. Evidence, however, proved otherwise. Investigators said Cooper-Tronnes was beaten to death in her bedroom, then moved after Tronnes tried to clean the scene.

The medical examiner said at the trial Cooper-Tronnes sustained bruises on her eyes as well as other facial injuries.

When speaking with detectives, Tronnes “showed little remorse during his interrogation and never shed a tear over his wife’s death.”

Orlando Police officers arrested Tronnes on Aug. 30, 2018.

Tronnes’ trial lasted six days and the jury deliberated for about five hours before reaching their verdict.

According to WESH-TV, prosecutors said during the trial Tronnes cracked his wife’s skull, then strangled her to death. WESH reports Cooper-Tronnes’ family did not want prosecutors to seek the death penalty against Tronnes.

Tronnes was sentenced to life in prison.

  • Jim Jordan Backs Patrick McHenry For Temporary Speaker, Will Remain House Speaker Designee

Congressman Jim Jordan has announced his endorsement of Congressman Patrick McHenry as a candidate for the position of Temporary Speaker of the House.

Additionally, Jordan has confirmed his commitment to maintaining his current role as Speaker Designee.

House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan has expressed his endorsement for Speaker pro Tempore Patrick McHenry to assume the role of interim Speaker of the House until January, following two unsuccessful attempts to get the required 217 votes.

According to an anonymous source cited by the Daily Caller, Jordan intends to persist in his efforts to get support until the specified time. The individual in question retains the designation of speaker. I am not discontinuing my education. I will be residing in McHenry till the month of January on a temporary basis.

Jordan’s next announcement will declare his decision to forego a third vote for Speaker, as originally intended, and express his support for the proposal to temporarily empower McHenry until January 3rd. Jordan will continue to hold the position of designated speaker.

Following the second round of voting, Jordan fell short of the required 217 votes needed to secure the speakership. The concluding quorum call indicated that the House of Representatives had an attendance of 432 individuals, signifying that a majority threshold of 217 members is required for decision-making, unless members opted to vote “present” during the roll call vote for the speaker.

On Wednesday, Jordan’s bid to assume the position of Speaker of the House was unsuccessful in the second round of voting due to insufficient votes.

On Tuesday, Jordan experienced defeat in the initial round for the position of speaker, when 20 Republicans cast their votes against him.

According to conservative donors who spoke with the Daily Caller on Monday evening, they have expressed their intention to refrain from providing financial support to Republican House members who decline to endorse Jordan for the position of speaker.

The House Republicans will have a meeting to deliberate on potential courses of action regarding the selection of a Speaker.

MITCHELL COUNTY, Iowa (TCD) — A 24-year-old man will spend the next several decades in prison for killing a missing 29-year-old woman, decapitating her, and leaving her head on a stick in a park.

Court records show Nathan Gilmore was sentenced Oct. 16 to 50 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for the death of Angela Bradbury. He was initially charged in August 2022 with first-degree murder.

Bradbury’s family reported her missing to the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office on Feb. 1, 2022, and said she had not been seen since April 6, 2021. A body was found in July 2021 at the Greenbelt Trail, and in March 2022, the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office announced the remains were positively identified as Bradbury’s.

The Iowa Department of Public Safety said in a statement last year that Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office deputies and officials from the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation executed several search warrants in Osage and St. Ansgar on Aug. 19, 2022, as part of their investigation into Bradbury’s disappearance. Investigators arrested Gilmore three days later on Aug. 22, 2022.

According to the criminal complaint, in the early evening of July 12, 2021, a teenager was reportedly walking on the Greenbelt Trail when she noticed “what appeared to be a human skull, which had been placed on a stick.” The teen called her mother, who then contacted the Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office. A deputy arrived at the scene and “took custody of the skull.”

DNA testing showed the skull was that of a female.

Bradbury’s family submitted DNA samples to law enforcement after reporting her missing. The Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner positively identified Bradley on Feb. 4, 2022. Investigators discovered some of her other remains in the same park two months later. The medical examiner determined Bradbury died by homicide.

The criminal complaint says Bradbury was arrested late at night on April 5, 2021, for trespassing at a car dealership. She was released at noon the next day. She was reportedly last seen leaving a friend’s house at approximately 5 p.m. April 6 and getting into Gilmore’s car.

Detectives spoke with Gilmore on Aug. 19, 2022, and he “provided an accurate description of the skull.”

He reportedly said he knew the details because of what he read in news articles and what people in town were saying, but he said he did not know anything else about the human remains or who they belonged to.

Then, during the interview, Gilmore walked back his previous remarks and confessed to picking up Bradbury, then changed his story a third time. GPS data showed Gilmore was in the Greenbelt Trail area the night of April 6, 2021.

According to the complaint, investigators discovered a drawing that “depicted a satanic goat’s head in the shape of a pentagram with what appears to be blood spatters drawn on it.” Then, next to the drawing, Gilmore had written “04-06,” “0590,” and “43.3, -92.8.”

The complaint says 04-06 refers to the date Gilmore was last seen alive, 590 is an acronym from Urban Dictionary that means “someone is tired of living,” and the last numbers are coordinates for Greenbelt River Trail Park.
