Over recent time, Manchester United have seen a significant overhaul of directors, with the club’s staff looking significantly different to it’s landscape only a few years ago.

Since INEOS have taken charge, Omar Berrada has joined as CEO from Manchester City, Dan Ashworth came and left as the club’s inaugural sporting director and Jason Wilcox has taken up post as technical director to name but a few of the club’s changes.

However, one of United’s former directors has now joined The Red Devils’ local and fierce rivals.

The Athletic has reported that Premier League rivals Liverpool have appointed Andy O’Boyle as managing director of women’s team.

O’Boyle left United last year after being deputy football director at Old Trafford for two years, having supported in the set up of INEOS’ directors and squad that we see now.

O’Boyle played a key role in supporting Sir Dave Brailsford as he established a revised hierarchy at Old Trafford.

The former deputy football director was also heavily involved in the club’s recent summer transfer activities, which saw the acquisitions of Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui, and Manuel Ugarte.

Now, O’Boyle is set to re-join Liverpool having previously worked at Anfield before his time with United.

He originally started with Liverpool back in 2011, taking up the post of head of fitness elite development, before becoming a first-team fitness coach in October 2015.
