During the Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 tournament at Evo 2022, Mothman had an amazing run using M.O.D.O.K., Morrigan and Phoenix as his team. He ended up placing in third place at the event.
Recently, Jmcrofts had an opportunity to sit down with Mothman for a voice chat interview where they talked about M.O.D.O.K., one of the most unusual characters in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. At the end of the video, they even played a first-to-5 so that Jmcrofts could really experience what it’s like to fight against Mothman’s M.O.D.O.K.
Although we typically see characters like Vergil, Zero, Dante and Phoenix being used, Mothman really seems to believe that M.O.D.O.K. is an underrated character. According to Mothman, M.O.D.O.K. is probably a top 7 contender in the Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 meta.
During the video, Mothman explains why more people probably aren’t playing as M.O.D.O.K. One of the biggest factors is that M.O.D.O.K. is… simply ugly. It’s obvious to see why most people would want to play a character that looks cool while wearing a trench coat and wielding a sword rather than a giant head.
When it came time for the first-to-5, Mothman used M.O.D.O.K., Dante and Dr. Doom against Jmcrofts’ Haggar, Sir Arthur and Sentinel team. Unfortunately for Jmcrofts, he was barely even able to land a hit against Mothman.
