Tom Hanks is head over heels for Rita Wilson. They’re a pair who’ve been hitched since ’88. They first crossed paths on the set of Tom’s sitcom, Bosom Buddies.
Their relationship is one of the most admired in Hollywood. And the Oscar-winning Hanks has the secret to their longevity. “Finding each other!” he shared with E! News’ Francesca Amiker, grinning from ear to ear. “How about that.” (Catch more of Tom and Rita on E! News, April 11 at 11 p.m.)
They’re the proud parents of Chet, 33, and Truman, 28. The couple was all smiles on the red carpet recently. They were the honorary chairs of “An Unforgettable Evening,” an event for the Women’s Cancer Research Fund.
The cause is close to their hearts. Rita, in particular, has a personal connection. She underwent a double mastectomy for breast cancer in 2015.
Rita spoke about the importance of supporting cancer research. “It takes a village,” she said to E! “And this community in our town of Los Angeles, California has turned out for 25 years to support this cause. We don’t do it alone.”
