The Minister of Steel Development (State), Uba Ahmadu Maigari, has said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s led-government will do well in job creation.
Maigari disclosed this during his working visit to Metallurgical Training Institute (MTI) Onitsha, Anambra State, on Thursday.
He said the administration of President Tinubu is more passionate about employability of Nigerians, especially, in the Steel Sector.
He said the speedy rate in which the President is going about in reviving moribund Institutes and industries across the country, shows that he will focused and work more on human capital development.

According to the Minister, Tinubu administration will performed beyond the expectation of Nigerians in poverty eradication and job creation across the country.
“The basic thrust of this government in job creation is to ‘skill up’ people, especially, the youths, so they can be self-employed and create jobs for others.
On the purpose of his visit, the Minister said, “On the eneral note, I can tell you that I am highly impressed in today’s working or facility tour to MTI Onitsha. The level of cooperation among workers in the Institute is impressive. The tour is to physically access the Institute, take stocks of mechineries on ground and other equipments of learning so as to properly categorised it area of attention and I have seen that MTI is a place government at all level should fund more to help curbed youth restiveness in Nigeria.
“Nigeria University graduates should also considered acquiring certificate on skills acquisition programmes for their future endeavours.
He noted that the Institute urgently need modern equipments to upgrade it potential to International best standard.
The Minister also at the Inosson Motors Factory Nnewi pledges federal government support to locally made products in the country.
Maigari while commending the management of the Institute, particularly, the Lecturers and the Instructors for their coordination, noted that the visit to the Technical School was the first tour he will be embarking since he assumed office as Minister of State, Ministry of Steel Development Abuja.
On his part, the Director and Chief Executive Officer of MTI, Bode Fakuade, while describing the Minister’s working visit as laudable, announced that the Institute has, between 1995 and 2023 trained about 5,800 young Nigerians on self-reliance skills.
Fakuade informed the Minister that if government can pay more attention to an Institution like MTI, it will go a long-way to impact skills on young graduates roaming around the streets.
He listed lack of funds, persistent criminal invasion and erosion menace as the major challenges threatening the existence of the Institution since its inception in 1988.
The Traditional ruler of Obosi Community, Igwe Chidubem Iweka, while welcoming the Minister to his Palace, described the visit as unprecedented and that it has rekindled in them the hope that they are part and parcel of the present administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He said the people of Obosi Community will continue to support the Government of Tinubu as they deed in previous administrations.
The Minister is also expected to visit the State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo at the governor’s lodge Amawbia.
