As President Bola Ahmed Tinubu marks his 73rd birthday, the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has celebrated his visionary leadership, highlighting the success of the student loan scheme initiated by his administration.

A statement signed by Managing Director/ Chief Executive, NELFUND, Mr Akintunde Sawyerr, disclosed that since its launch, over 500,000 students have registered for the interest-free loan, demonstrating the government’s commitment to human capital development and education for all.

The loan scheme aims to provide affordable and sustainable education financing, ensuring that no Nigerian student is left behind due to financial constraints.

He noted that President Tinubu’s dedication to education and national development has been instrumental in driving the initiative.

Sawyerr added that the president’s belief that education is key to combating poverty and achieving national development has led to the implementation of bold policy initiatives, including the NELFUND.
