This new Tekken 8 glitch makes Jin indefinitely fight like Godzilla when he does his flying drop kick

Tekken 8’s brand spankin’ new demo is now available on the Xbox Series X|S and PC. One of the nice things about a demo is that it can help developers get the game in some capacity out into the hands of the public, which almost always makes surface weird glitches or unintentional behavior that will need to be patched out before the game’s official launch.

Well, it looks like such a glitch has reared its ugly head, and it involves Jin Kazama. Apparently, it’s possible to make Jin freak out in battle and cause him to float horizontally in the air and fight like he’s imitating Godzilla in that infamous flying drop kick scene.

Now, there doesn’t appear to be a lot of information on how to trigger this glitch at this moment in time. Footage of it in action was shared on Reddit by a user named Snavfu and it features over two minutes of high-flyin’ Jin action.

Jin can be seen floating in the air facing off against Kazuya, and from the looks of it, once this glitch is activated, it will remain in play throughout the rest of the match. We see several rounds play out here, and all the while, Jin remains in Flying Godzilla Stance (that’s not what it’s actually called, but I’m coining it now).

What we do know is that Jin can still fully be attacked and take damage while in this buggy state, and he can still perform his move set. What seems to be happening here is that Jin has seemingly been turned to the left by about 90 degrees, but even though the animations of his attacks appear to be coming out in the correct direction he’s facing, his movement and the attack hitboxes are still on the standard plane of the battle.

As a result, it just looks like Jin is doing some weird flying kicks to take out his opponent, with some fans already meme-ing this and saying he’s actually performing Liu Kang’s Bicycle Kicks from Mortal Kombat.

You can try out the Tekken 8 demo right now for free on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The game is set for official launch on January 26, 2024.
