There’s a special appreciation in our community for those bold enough to attempt to emulate the over the top characters of the fighting game genre, and then post their creations for the internet to hopefully appreciate and certainly judge.
We feature cosplay on a weekly basis, and yes, 99 percent of the time said cosplays follow some predictable patterns and themes. Today we’re featuring Low Cost Cosplay, an artist who challenges himself to create cosplays (and he does so with stunning execution) using only items you’d find around your house.
The Thai cosplayer has a keen sense for seeing potential from places we’d never suspect to look. With the right lighting, angles, and visual trickery, LCC transforms food items into costume pieces, or the bathroom floor and toilet bowl into a training stage and hadoken:

He recreates the original cover art of Street Fighter 5, which sees Ryu crossing his arms in front of his face to form the “V” the game is themed around. You probably wouldn’t see this game’s cover art when snacking on microwavable chicken tenders, but LCC did:

Everyone cosplays Cammy, and LCC is no exception. Not everyone uses mangos to cosplay as Cammy, though…

We zip over to the violent realm of Mortal Kombat as LCC uses chewed bubble gum to add eye lasers to his Homelander at home cosplay.

We learned relatively recently that the highly-requested Ghostface from the Scream franchise would be guest starring in Mortal Kombat 1 as part of Kombat Pack 2. Fans have been asking for this particular horror icon ever since NetherRealm Studios broke the mold and brought Freddy Kreuger into Mortal Kombat 9.
As it turns out, Ghostface has been right under our noses this entire time.

There’s actually a ton more creativity like this on LowCostCosplay’s X page, so be sure to follow him there if you’ve enjoyed this sample of his portfolio. He has an interesting sense of humor (he posts a follow up photo of himself eating part of his cosplays, more often than not) and a brilliant mind for seeing patterns where others do not.
Please let us know what you thought of this selection from LCC here in the comments below.
