This crazy Quan Chi Mortal Kombat 1 combo nets over 70% damage and is the hardest we've seen him hit yet in one go

Classic Mortal Kombat villain Quan Chi is the latest DLC character currently available in Mortal Kombat 1. The evil sorcerer is back with new tools at his disposal, including an ancient Lovecraftian god who attacks his foes through portals to another dimension.

Though Quan Chi is much more of a zoner here in MK1 — who we compared to Dhalsim from Street Fighter in our review — the big baddie has the ability to land some truly devastating combos with the right set up and Kameo Fighter at his side. In fact, a new combo from X (formerly Twitter) user CHECK4900 demonstrates how Quan Chi can score over 70% damage in one go, making this the most damage we’ve seen the DLC fighter belt out in one continuous sequence.

To set this devastating combo up, Quan Chi must be paired with the Shujinko Kameo Fighter and needs to be facing off against Kenshi. Using Shujinko’s ability to copy a technique from the opponent’s main fighter, CHECK4900 puts Kenshi’s ghost into action to periodically hit the opponent and help keep the combo going.

Once the Kameo is in effect and Quan Chi lays down his skeletal cage trap, a standing 4 is used to literally kick things off. Thanks to the timing of when the Kenshi ghost hits, CHECK4900 is able to use a variety of different juggles and put into play Quan Chi’s Zone of Power, which powers up his projectiles and adds even more to this sequence.

What’s really impressive about this combo is that it really stretches the limits of the juggle system in Mortal Kombat 1, and even when you think it’s over, Quan Chi is still able to eke out more hits and damage before the combo is through.

This combo also doesn’t utilize the hard-hitting, cinematic Fatal Blow maneuver, but instead just requires three bars of EX meter. When all is said and done, this lethal combo dishes out 71.5% damage for this powerful corner sequence.
