In a bit to fight back and win control of Obudu LGA, Ayade who has lost grip of the political equation in Obudu due to massive decamping of PDP loyalists to APC has sworn war with Prince Jedy Agba who was the first of such decampees. Immediately after Jedy's decamping, political heavyweights, featherweight and lightweight have followed Jedy's cue.
Rt. Hon. Paul Adah, Hon. Venatius Ikem, Dr. Peter Oti, K-Jay Agba were among those who decamped with Jedy Agba to the APC. With latest APC reconciliation moves, championed by Venatius Ikem himself, APC has sure taken over Obudu politics.
In a bit to gather support for himself and his appointees from Obudu, the governor mobilized all resources to lure the youths back to the PDP. “Colorful Ghana must-go-bags” were flown to Obudu by Helicopter. Motorcycles were given to people for the time as a mark of empowerment initiative. Crowds were rented numbering about 5000 people. Most of the people who were rented only came because they needed the money. It is a fact that where Jedy is concerned, Ayade is regarded as a toy. Apparently fearing the ever increasing gap due to more decamping by the day, Ayade has now resorted to threats and blackmails.
The latest is that Ayade has threatened to report Prince Goddie Jedy Agba to EFCC if Jedy refuses to return back to the PDP within a week.
This has forced members of the APC in Abuja to take actions which include a press briefing to be released soon. It is saddening to know that Ayade, a governor of a State could bring down himself to a riffraff. For it is riffraffs who uses the politics of blackmail against people.
I am however, not surprised that Governor Ben Ayade will do this. Ben Ayade, who has been a successful oil bunkerer in Warri can do everything to remain relevant as a governor even as his popularity in Obudu wanes.
My advice to Governor Ben Ayade is that, he should be prepared to dance the songs of his blackmail activities. Very soon, Etete Nkuku and his mates and sponsors will be arrested.
