This upcoming Wednesday is Valentine’s Day. It seems that one Mortal Kombat fan is already prepared for this yearly tradition.
Goh Billy has released some interesting clips that showcase some of his Valentine’s Day card concepts. These designs would surely impress a Mortal Kombat enthusiast, though it might get a different sort of reaction from someone not as familiar with the series.
In one card, Johnny Cage from Mortal Kombat 2 can be observed falling from a great height, which is a reference to one of the stage Fatalities in Mortal Kombat 2. The words “I’m falling for you,” can be seen when opening up the card.
The Kano card requires more interaction from the recipient. Upon opening the card, Kano performs the Heart Ripper Fatality from Mortal Kombat 1 against Liu Kang. “Thank you for giving me your heart this Valentine’s Day,” says the card.
Finally, one more card shows a scene depicting Kung Lao and Reptile. First, Kung Lao must be made to swing his hat downwards. Following this, Reptile can be made to split in half as a direct result of how Kung Lao’s Fatality works in Mortal Kombat 2.
“You’re my other half,” says the card upon completing the interaction. Unfortunately, these are merely concepts created by Goh Billy, so these cards can’t actually be acquired anywhere.
