These 7 beautiful Dragon Ball Sparking ZERO supers reveal just how brilliantly animated this upcoming game is

With Gamescom roaring along in Cologne, Germany fighting game fans have been enjoying sneak peeks at upcoming titles and content. Perhaps the most grandiose of these early showcases has been that of Dragon Ball Sparking ZERO as we see iconic anime recreated with the latest and greatest gaming engines.

Attendees at Gamescom have been sharing footage of Dragon Ball Sparking ZERO super animations and we’ve rounded up a handful to share with you now. From Vegito’s beam sword slash to the tried and true father/son Kamehameha, animations in this game all but make us feel like we’re reliving these moments.

We kick off with a seemingly routine kamehameha super from Super Saiyan Goten. The young fighters rifles off the beam attack, but just as he does Super Saiyan Trunks comes in for a surprise double kamehameha. From what we’ve seen this tag team version of the property’s most familiar attack is possible with a few different Saiyan combinations.

Next we see Vegito slash the living crap out of his kids as he pulls off his Ultimate beam sword slash in spectacular fashion:

The baddies are out to play in Sparking Zero as well, of course, and Perfect Cell reminds us of how vicious his offense can be with a gnarly rush attack series:

Not to be outdone by they guy from the saga before him, Majin Buu (in Buuhan form) launches into one of the most cinematic sequences we’ve seen yet. He manifests a team of seven Buu ghosts (that totally don’t look like sperm at all) who promptly surround Trunks and blast him from all angles:

This next one is fairly simple as it’s a straightforward kamehameha from Super Saiyan Blue Goku, but animators were careful to get seemingly every detail right. From his expressions to the way the planet shakes beneath him, Goku’s ferocity and the impact of this attack have our jaws hanging:

Here we watch regular Gohan close out a round against Super Saiyan Kefla with his Ultimate burst rush. He ties everything off with a trusty kamehameha blast and talks a little smack for good measure:

We close out with a Dragon Ball Z classic. You all but have to put this in your Dragon Ball game if you want it to be taken seriously as fans remember this moment like few others:

Let us know in the comments what you think of the visuals of Sparking Zero thus far. Are you purchasing on day one? Do you already know whom you’re going to main?
