AC Milan’s Theo Hernandez has recently emerged as one of Manchester United’s options to replace Luke Shaw at left-back at Old Trafford.
Shaw has found himself injured once more as his injury saga continues for over a year now.
The left-back has routinely found himself recovering from injury, making a couple of cameo appearances, before being side-lined once more.
Unfortunately, Shaw’s deputy, Tyrell Malacia has also been injured, causing the club to rely on Diogo Dalot to cover the role.
As such, United are now looking for a reliable left-back who can take charge of the left flank, with the wings being vital in Amorim’s system.

Manchester United’s left-back options
The front runner currently is Alphonso Davies, with United set to meet the Canadian’s agent in the new year to discuss a pre-contract agreement.
With Davies coming to the end of his contract in the summer, Bayern Munich are attempting to extend his contract, however, their recent attitude has angered Davies’ agent.
As such, a free transfer for the star could be on the cards, however United would have to wait till the summer for him to move to Old Trafford.
Patrick Dorgu has also merged as an option, with the Lecce winger impressing several top European clubs.
However, much like Davies, Dorgu is unlikely to be available in January, with the club’s technical director, Panteleo Corvino addressing a potential January move by saying: “Dorgu will stay here and then, in the summer, we’ll talk about it because his destiny is set.”
However, Hernandez has now entered the fray, as contract extension conversations have stalled.

United look to Theo Hernandez
The France international is contracted until 2026, however, Calciomercato has reported that his future at the Italian club is in limbo.
With United and Real Madrid both interested in the defender, AC Milan have put a £41 million price tag on their star.
Next summer will be his last summer transfer window at the San Siro, with the club potentially losing him on a free in the following January if a sale can’t be made or if contract extensions aren’t agreed.
As such, the Serie A side could ask for their valuation to be matched to sell their star in January before the pressure mounts to sell in the summer.
