Capcom and SNK haven’t been shy about their collaborative relationship here in 2024. From a rerelease of SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos to Fatal Fury’s Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui being added to Street Fighter 6 as DLC in Season 2, the two long-running fighting game developers have fans actively thinking about and enjoying their past crossovers all over again and waiting for what’s to come with excitement.
In celebration of all of the recent festivities, talented cosplayer Missy Le organized a photoshoot that sees both Street Fighter’s Chun-Li and Fatal Fury/King of Fighter’s Mai Shiranui teaming up once again. Within these photos we’re given a recreation of the legendary retro artwork featuring the stare down between these two fighters.
Now, if you’ve been following fighting games at all for a little bit, then you’ve probably come across this art piece at some point. This popular artwork comes from back in 2003 and acted as a promotional piece for SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos.
In it, we see Chun-Li and Mai engaged in a deep stare down where the two are standing very close to each other. Both are ready for a fight, but this piece often finds itself as a fan favorite due to the seductive and intimate elements it holds.
This cosplay from the beautiful Chilean cosplayer is a faithful recreation of the illustration as we see both Chun-Li and Mai standing toe-to-toe and face-to-face as they lock eyes.
The wonderful depiction of Chun-Li is portrayed by Missy Le herself, while Mai is being cosplayed by oky_lucy_lv.
Outside of the SVC Chaos art recreation, both Le and her fellow cosplayer took the time to shoot several other photos of Mai and Chun in various poses. Some pit both fighting game characters in a friendly embrace while others see them ready to take on any opponent.
Needless to say, Missy Le and Lucy both look stunning in their respective Chun-Li and Mai cosplay getups. If you want to see more of Le’s fantastic cosplay, which features amazing work like her portrayal of Mortal Kombat’s Shao Khan, be sure to check out her various social media channels.
