The King of Fighters 15's new mechanic can apparently break boss battles and actual matches in strange glitch

The King of Fighters 15 added a powerful new battle mechanic to the game last week seemingly out of nowhere, but SNK may have needed to give it a bit more time in the oven to be fully good to go.

A new glitch was recently discovered in KOF15 involving the Advance Strike move that can apparently break matches and even the Omega Rugal special boss fight when performed under certain circumstances.

KOF lab monster Olaf recently showed off this battle bug with multiple examples and explored what is causing it to happen in the first place.

As can be seen against boss Rugal, using an Advance Strike against his armored grab Super that simply bounces off, but the big man still keeps walking without ever performing the rest of the move — because this bug apparently disables the throw box of an attack completely.

That’s not the true weird part of the glitch, however, as this also freezes the in-game camera in place causing a screen lock. The characters can continue to move around and fight, but the camera will no longer follow them across the stage.

This screen lock glitch can be performed in regular gameplay too, and taking a closer look at it there helped explain what is going on.

Olaf found that if you perform an Advance Strike to counter a throw while at the same time being hit out of the recovery, the camera zoom will stay in place and not reset like normal.

Though it looks bad at face value, this bug is likely not something players need to worry about much in an actual match considering the specificity of the conditions and the hoops Olaf had to jump through to show them off.

If it does somehow happen, however, the round would basically be ruined since neither player could see what was happening off screen.

At the same time, the glitch is pretty funny visually by giving off some Scooby-Doo vibes with the characters simply running out of frame.

SNK will hopefully address this screen lock in the near future, but until then, you probably shouldn’t be too worried about this happening to you though it is still important to know it exists.
