It was about two months back that we got our first look at the newest Tekken character and potential new addition to the Mishima family: Reina.
Given the apt nickname “Purple Lightning” Reina is both fast on her feet and powerful with her punches… also she has purple tips in her hair. As one might expect, the internet is already falling in love with this new feisty fighter, and we’ve compiled a gallery of fan art to show just how much so.
Before we get into the details, we have to point out that Reina really does look like Bandai Namco’s latest answer to Capcom’s Juri. The latter was introduced in Street Fighter 4 and has absolutely catapulted up the ranks of fandom, now rivaling the likes of Chun-Li and Cammy, two of the franchise’s oldest and most beloved characters.
Reina has clear overlap with Juri in personality, ability, and even color scheme (even if Juri does trend closer to pink sometimes). We’ve only really her trailer to go by thus far, but in it Reina shows of a strong sense of confidence paired with a near cavalier attitude to what may be at stake.
This style of bad girl is often a hit with fighting game fans, and we’ve got 10 talented artists who have been moved to draw Reina and share their work with the rest of us.
