The Cross River State Police Command has reminded the public over laws guiding the use of Fireworks and other Explosives
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) John Eluu, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Cross River Command

The state Police Command says the laws that prohibit the use of Fireworks such as Knockouts, Bangers and other Explosives used in the Christmas and New Year celebrations is still in force.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) John Eluu, says the command urge parents and guidance to advice their children to deplete from such acts as it could cause distraction and which may in turn constitute a threat to security.

The police says it will now call for a new statutory responsibility of protecting lives and properties as well as clamp down the persons selling or using the aforementioned items.
