Intro by Steve Cook
True power resides at the grass roots.
Tyranny cannot survive without the acquiescence of the People.
When faced with an alert, informed and motivated People, tyranny flounders, wilts and perishes. Hence the relentless efforts to terrorise, lie to and dismay the People.
Those efforts have failed and we are heartened to witness the birth of a new grass roots phenomenon, the Citizen Activist.
The following article does a fine job of describing and extolling the virtues of this phenomenon and I’m pleased to present below a video example of Citizen Activists in action.
These are early days but expect the numbers of Citizen Activists to grow fast until they become an unstoppable army.
And there’s a tipping point coming where dopey, lazy, complacent, cowardly or corrupt councilors and politicians will think twice before siding with the enemies of the People – it will become just too uncomfortable and/or down right dangerous.
So let’s encourage, support and reward the brave Citizen Activists wherever they arise.
The Silver Lining To Last Four Years
SOURCE: The Together Declaration
In a world where increasing numbers feel they cannot trust politicians and policymakers to have our best interests at heart, a new kind of campaigner is coming to the fore.
One of the silver linings to everything that’s happened these last few years is how many people have been ‘activated!’
Members of the public who never imagined getting involved in frontline campaigning before have been compelled to step up, speak up, learn new skills or apply existing ones to challenge the abuse of power playing out in so many areas.
Any time you respond to one of our ‘calls-to-action’, you are doing it.
And, at the local level, individuals and small groups are asking the questions councillors, MPs and local media are failing to ask…
They’re doing the vital research official leaders are failing to do and opening up the public debate that is essential for a democratic society.
Local Together groups and members in Bristol, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Birmingham, Bath, Oxford to name just a few have been getting involved, putting local councils under scrutiny.
Or take another of the ‘new generation’ activists, garden designer Rachel Matthews, whose YouTube channel became a vehicle for videos holding her local Colchester Council to account…
In this inspiring video, Rachel and other local campaigners put councillors to shame with cogent, well-researched speeches on the implications of passing a motion on climate change.
Citing evidence that children are mining the cobalt for the electric bikes and road sweepers the council keeps ordering, Rachel asks:
“And now you want to vote for more forced-labour solar panels and lithium batteries. So is the anti-slavery policy on the council’s website just there for decoration?
These are not just teething problems of new technology; they are fundamental flaws. Serious ones which cannot be ignored by anyone who genuinely cares about people and planet.
Instead of supporting the corporate greed behind this faux green agenda, demand the government do not deploy any technology that badly pollutes on production and cannot easily be recycled. In other words, real green initiatives.”
By way of a fine example of Citizen Activists in action, check out the two videos below

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. For 7 years we have not asked for any donations, and have built this project with our own funds as we grew. We are now experiencing ever increasing growing pains due to the large number of websites and projects we represent. So we have just installed donation buttons on our websites and ask that you consider this when you visit them. Nothing is too small. We thank you for all your support and your considerations … (TLB)
