It’s branded as ‘ great food, terrible service!’ Yes, the infamous Karen’s Diner is coming to Brum – and be prepared for a roasting!
This is the restaurant where waitresses will throw your menu at you, shove your meals onto the table and sit and chat amongst themselves when you’re desperately trying to order a drink. And definitely don’t expect a smile!
That’s because Karen’s is a diner like no other. Staff at this burger joint are deliberately rude – and they want their customers to be rude back.

Described as an immersive dining experience, Karen’s is opening its doors in Birmingham this September, and is not to be missed, especially if you enjoy complaining! The interactive diner first launched in Australia and then branched out to the UK in February, first arriving in Sheffield. It moved to Prestwich in Manchester in May and now it’s coming to Birmingham.
“Karen’s has crossed the pond and made its way to Birmingham,” said a spokesman. “Get ready for a dining experience with some great food and terrible service.
“It’s a diner like no other – expect turbulent service, singing waiters and regular guest appearances from the manager – the biggest Karen of them all! Don’t expect special treatment at this diner because it’s all about Karen, and she won’t be taking any of your nonsense!”
“Come have some fun and wind the staff up to unleash your inner Karen and see their full Karen potential. You’re in for a horrendously good time but whatever you do, don’t ask for a refund!
“Karen’s is not for the faint hearted but it’s the perfect place to dine if you dislike your friends, family and colleagues. Bookings are highly recommended as Karen’s gets busy so use the booking tool to jump right on in. We’re not looking forward to seeing you.”
Billed as Peaky Karen’s, the pop-up diner will launch atGrand Central Birmingham on September 2, 2022. It will be open Wednesday to Friday 4pm to 10pm and Saturday and Sunday 1pm to 10pm.
The menu features dirty American burgers, fries, classic USA shakes and cocktails. There’s also vegetarian and vegan options – but diners are warned not to expect Karen to be happy about it! But, if your name is actually Karen, they’ll give you a free drink. Book here
