The Abandoned Ogoja Water Board In Pictures

Ever since the rehabilitation of Cross River Water Board Limited (CRWBL), Ogoja Station begins, the people haven’t had access to portable water for drinking and it’s more than a year now.

With the effect of water borne diseases affecting the neighbouring states like Ebonyi, there could be a threat that such plaque could cross over if the people find themselves in drinking river or stream water only. Since there’s inter-trade between the Ogoja people and the Ebonyi/Benue people, there’s a possibility of transfer of Cholera and other water borne diseases to people which will in turn post economic threat to the people and the state at large.

After series of complaints from the people of Ogoja, Calabar Reporters took bold steps to examined the Water Board Station/System in the area. We noticed that the work in the station had been abandoned and it’s more than 6-months now ever since works commences in the plant. And it’s so bad as the people keep suffering despite the leaders they elect.

Let’s take a look at the pictures from the abandoned Water Station below….
