FULSHEAR, Texas (TCN) — A 46-year-old man is suspected of attempted murder for allegedly “intentionally” setting his home on fire while his three children were still inside.
According to the Fulshear Police Department, on Nov. 6, police and firefighters responded to a house fire on Eldorado Lane and encountered two juveniles with minor injuries who said a 3-year-old was still inside. Officers heard “faint sounds from within the home” and entered through a bedroom window to save the toddler. Police said the 3-year-old suffered from severe smoke inhalation, so they were airlifted to a nearby hospital. The child has since been released.
The children’s father, Pedro Pulgar, was also taken to a hospital for “extensive injuries.” He was discharged Dec. 12 and subsequently arrested on three counts of attempted murder. A judge set his bond at $750,000 for each count, making it a total bond of $2.25 million.
Jail records show Pulgar is also facing a charge of arson.
