COMAL COUNTY, Texas (TCN) — Authorities recently arrested a 51-year-old art teacher on suspicion of engaging in sexual relations with a male juvenile student.
Comal County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a home construction site for a report of a “suspicious person” on Oct. 3 at around 6 p.m. At the scene, officials made contact with Jennifer Massey, a teacher at Davenport High School, and the underage victim. Deputies allege they “engaged in sexual contact.”
Authorities took Massey into custody on a charge of improper relationship between educator and student. She was booked into the Comal County Jail on Oct. 3 and released on bond the following day.
In a statement obtained by KENS-TV, the school district said, “The district does not condone inappropriate relationships between teachers and students. Ensuring the safety and security of our students is our top priority. We will continue to cooperate fully with law enforcement during their investigation.”
The principal of Davenport High School also allegedly sent a message to parents that read, “The district learned that last night Mrs. Massey was charged with having an improper relationship with a student. Mrs. Massey was placed on administrative leave this morning, and she will not be returning to Davenport High School.”
