You’ve gotta go to Germany if you want to be among the first to get your hands on the Wild Wolf though
After nearly 40 years, Street Fighter is about to receive its first ever guest character from another developer, and it’s going to be a good one.
Fatal Fury’s Terry Bogard is next in line to join the Street Fighter 6 cast for Season 2 after M. Bison, and some lucky people are going to get to play the Wild Wolf early in just a few weeks.
Capcom just officially announced their lineup of titles that are going to be available at Gamescom 2024 focused around five games: Monster Hunter Wilds, Ace Attorney Investigations Collection, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, Monster Hunter Now and Street Fighter 6.
Seeing SF6 up there next to two upcoming titles had us wondering at first if Terry would be making a special appearance, but that was cleared up rather quickly.
The official description of the fighting game’s inclusion confirms Terry is making the trip out to Germany in a playable demo for attendees.
“Attendees of the Capcom booth will also be able to get the global first hands-on with the newest, and first-ever guest character in the Street Fighter series, Terry Bogard, from SNK’s Fatal Fury series. Fans can get to grips with Terry and try out his moves ahead of his release this fall. Terry Bogard, the Legendary Hungry Wolf, can be purchased individually with Fighter Coins or unlocked for players who own or purchase the Year 2 Character Pass or Year 2 Ultimate Pass.”
Although they didn’t state it outright here, this basically confirms we’ll be getting a full gameplay trailer for Terry by that point too because it’d be wildly out of character for Capcom to make a new fighter playable without a trailer first.
While it could technically happen anytime between now and then, the most obvious place the developers may show off what the SNK icon can do would be at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live.
This show full of reveals is set to take place on Tuesday, August 20, at 8 p.m. local time, so 11 a.m. PT / 2 p.m. ET.

There’s also a great chance they give us Terry’s actual release date at the event, which will likely be at some point in September.
Capcom also has a strong recent history of Street Fighter announcements at Geoff Keighley’s shows, and his Summer Games Fest is where we just saw the Season 2 reveal for Bison, Terry, Mai Shiranui and Elena too.
If that keeps up, we could end up seeing Mai’s eventual teaser at The Game Awards 2024 in December too.
Although we haven’t seen him in action yet, Capcom did give fans a teaser trailer for Terry in SF6 already at Evo 2024 where we all got to see part of his World Tour mode introduction — which also showed off what Mr. Bogard looks like in the RE Engine for the first time.
That bit of footage pretty much confirmed his signature Burn Knuckle is going to be part of his move set, so we can also expect the likes of Power Wave, Crack Shoot and Rising Tackle to at least be in there too — and he’s gotta have Buster Wolf as one of his Super Arts.
It’s going to be very interesting to see how Terry interacts with the Drive System of SF6 too.
Both Capcom and SNK seem keen to keeping their close relationship going with potentially new games / crossovers in the future, and Terry and Mai’s arrival will mark the first real step of that journey.
There was also the recent surprise rerelease of SNK vs Capcom: CVS Chaos, so maybe that’ll also help pave the way for Capcom vs. SNK 3 someday (or at least a modern release of the first two CvS games).
The main Gamescom 2024 event is set to take place from August 21–25 in Cologne, Germany where Terry will be available to try out at Capcom’s booth.
