As a Bid Manager, you will identify potential bid submission opportunities, create bid-winning strategies, conduct research, develop and submit technical and commercial bids and proposals, negotiate with stakeholders, lead procurement activities as needed, and collaborate with other team members to ensure successful bid outcomes.
Job Responsibilities
Identify bid submission opportunities
Prepare and submit competitive technical and commercial bids
Conduct research and brainstorm key points to include in the bid
Strategically source to support bid proposals
Craft persuasive and detailed proposals
Perform risk assessments and address issues and concerns appropriately
Ensure all bid deadlines are met – Liaise with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors
Keep track of all costs and manage budgets.
Work closely with project managers and senior personnel.
Conduct team briefings once bids have been secured.
Review RFQ/RFP received from existing or prospective clients, manage & assign tasks according to priorities.
Lead bid overview meetings with sales managers, technical consultants & operations to set bid strategy and preparation guidelines.
Manage all supplier and partner agreements renewals and contracts.
Supervise all internal and external communication to guarantee daily tasks and assignments are consistently responded to in a timely manner.
Track all ordering activities with suppliers/vendors to meet delivery deadlines, improve overall margin, and maintain it in line with the company’s profit plan.
Price and contract negotiations to ensure competitiveness and commercial advantage.
Support the finance department in invoicing-related matters to avoid delays in payment receipt from clients.
Manage the procurement process.
Job Requirements / Qualifications
A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 2nd Class Upper
PMP certification is an advantage.
At least 5 years of relevant experience in bids and tenders, project procurement, and executing contracts in key industries, 2 of which must be at the managerial level.
Substantial experience in packaging and submitting competitive and successful technical and commercial bids for upstream activities related to drilling services, engineering services, technical assistance, and other related upstream engineering services.
Strong understanding of NUPRC, NIPEX, and NCDMB licensing and permitting processes
Ideal candidates should have a sound understanding of the upstream oil and gas industry, be technically sound, and be able to communicate and negotiate with various stakeholders.
