Temp Internship (Chemical Engineer) at The Heineken Company

Purpose of the Position

The purpose is to give practical work experience to students who are in their final year of study and have a prerequisite to have practical work experience in order to obtain their qualification. The successful candidate will be expected to enter into a 12-month contract commencing 01 February 2024 and terminating on 31 January 2025.

Key Learning Areas include, but are not limited to the following:

Plant maintenance
Plant operation: Columns distillation, Pot distillation & RO
Lab analysis
Utilities & Facilities
General administration assistance
Process optimization
Loss control
Problem solving
Projects execution

To qualify for selection and participation in this program, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Final year of obtaining Chemical Engineering degree/diploma
Candidates in need of in-service or practical workplace experience
Computer literacy – Microsoft Suit (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Sound communication and presentation skills
Effective time management
Ability to multi-task and perform under pressure
Ability to work in a team
South African citizen
Must reside or be able to relocate to Worcester/Rawsonville

Prospective interns must submit the following:

Motivational letter
A curriculum vitae
Certified academic record
Certified copy of grade 12 certificate.
Certified copy of identity document.
A letter from the tertiary institution confirming that the student requires exposure to the workplace to obtain their qualification.
A format for evaluation required by the tertiary institution (Logbook)
