Tekken 8’s been out in the wild for just over a month now, and the competition is starting to heat up ahead of the start of Tekken World Tour 2024 season.
We saw a big tournament go down this weekend at TNS 9 CEO Never Sleeps where many of the top Tekken players from across North America came together and show off a wide variety of different characters.
Now that the action has finished up for the game, we’ve gone back and put together the full character stats breakdown for the top 32 in Tekken at TNS 9 with some interesting results.
Overall, Paul and Xiaoyu were the most popular of the upper brackets with four and three players maining them respectively though neither of them did see the top 8.
Instead, there were no repeats in top 8 at all with Zafina, Reina, Dragunov, Asuka, Alisa, Devil Jin, Nina and Jin being represented while the only repeats in top 16 were Paul, Xiaoyu and Dragunov.
Although she’s been consistently ranked as one of the weakest characters in the game, Liquid|Shadow20z managed to take the whole thing with Zafina from winner’s side, so it seems the fighter does have some juice after all.
There were 20 different mains in the top 32 and only 8 of them are repeats, and since almost 200 competitors signed up for the event, these stats represent around the best 16% of players down in Florida this weekend.
