Tekken 8 future adjustments planned based on unintended character behaviors from latest patch

Eddy Gordo and patch 1.03.01 were recently unleashed into Tekken 8. However, it turns out that some of the adjustments had some unintended consequences that the developers are aiming to address in the next patch.

According to the official Tekken Twitter account, the developers have confirmed unintended character behaviors involving Zafina’s back dash and tornado moves. Within the latest patch, there were changes made to moves that cause the tornado status, but Zafina’s back dash actually didn’t have any changes listed for it in the recent patch notes.

As stated by the Tekken 8 developers, Zafina’s “animation data changes” has made it so that her “back dash distance is shorter than expected.” More than likely, they’ll be lengthening the animation in the next patch so that it better matches what it used to be like.

Additionally, “changes were made to collision detection between walls and characters to fix moves whiffing while near a wall (using Tornados & Rage Arts). However, this change has impacted some existing combos.”

It’s noted that the team is currently working on these two issues for a patch that will be “released to fix them soon.” Though we weren’t given a date in which we should be expecting the next patch to drop, Bandai Namco thanked fans for their patience and promised to provide an update when more information is available.

Once that information is made available, we’ll be sure to cover it all here on EventHubs.
