Bandai Namco just released their brand new gameplay trailer for the third DLC character coming to Tekken 8 in Season 1. The canonically dead Heihachi has returned and is joining the King of the Iron Fist tournament this coming Monday via early access.
Now that Heihachi has been fully unveiled, there only remains one final fighter scheduled to join the roster in Season 1. Tekken 8 Director Katsuhiro Harada hasn’t revealed anything about their identity just yet, but he recently took to Twitter to prompt fans to create a mock up image of who they think they’d see if this mystery character’s identity were to be leaked ahead of time — and the internet did not disappoint.
“If the information for the fourth character in TEKKEN 8 Season 1 was leaked, what character would it be?” asked Harada on Twitter. “Please upload your idea using the materials below (Use your imagination!).”
Harada even went so far as to provide fans with an image of the DLC release line up with the fourth slot being a blank spot. This makes it so that anyone can download it and drop their guesses (or humorous picks) in with ease.
There were many entries for this fun little exercise, but Harada personally retweeted and commented on his favorites.

The first entry we see goes above and beyond and uses a short video clip in lieu of a static image. A Twitter user by the name of “AbsenteeRoger,” who also happens to have a profile picture of Tekken’s resident kangaroo Roger, dropped a video into the empty space that sees a kangaroo hopping around before pouncing at the camera.

Harada shared this response out with an “lol” in the quote retweet.
Another user dropped an image of a salmon into the 4th character spot, which actually lead to Harada sharing some behind-the-scenes details of an idea the Tekken development team had for Tekken 3 that was ultimately scrapped.
“Hehe This is a re-creation of an idea we had planned for Tekken 3,” Harada began. “Punch button makes you jump. Kick button to roll on the ground. So, 100 yen per play (about $1 at that time) seemed expensive, right? That’s why we rejected it.”

In light of the recent hint that popular soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo will have some kind of involvement with SNK’s upcoming Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves fighting game, one Twitter user took the opportunity to add another famous soccer player to Tekken 8’s roster.
