Last week PlayStation users got to check out the Tekken 8 demo, but now it’s PC and Xbox users’ turn as the latest sneak peak for the next Tekken installment is officially available in both the Steam and Xbox Games stores.
The kinds of modes, characters, and experiences you’ll have access to are limited, of course, but there’s a good bit of content (27.64 GB worth, to be precise) that should keep players busy for a good while. Below you’ll find the details.
Below is a full list of modes and features in the Tekken 8 demo. Note that the Super Ghost Battle is new compared to what was available when the demo went live last week on PlayStation 5.
5 game modes
Story: The Dark Awakens – play through the first chapter of Tekken 8’s story mode.
Arcade Quest – Progress through an exciting story set in game arcades with you as the main character while learning about Tekken 8 battles.
Super Ghost Battle – Unlocks after clearing Arcade Quest
Player vs. Player – standard offline versus between two human opponents.
Player vs. CPU – standard offline versus against a CPU controlled opponent.
Gallery – a collection of artwork and assets from Tekken 8.
4 playable characters
• Paul
• Jin
• Kazuya
• Nina
3 different stages
• Urban Square (Evening)
• Yakushima
• Sanctum
As you may have noticed, there’s a lack of online play as players will not be able to face off via internet battles just yet, and will instead have to settle for local versus matches if they want to face off against other humans.
It’s also worth noting that none of the save data you accrue during your Tekken 8 beta sessions will carry over to the full game, so don’t get too attached to any progress you make.
Tekken 8 is slated to release on January 24 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X, and PC. Below you can watch the recently released story mode trailer
