Tekken 8 and its Ultimate Edition go on sale for the first time since launch with a nice discount

Tekken 8 is rapidly coming up on its third full month since launch, and though it sold over 2 million copies pretty quickly, there’s obviously a ton of people who haven’t picked it up yet.

Those who’ve been waiting for Tekken 8 to go on sale may be in luck, as Bandai Namco’s new fighter just received the first official discount we’ve seen (at least on one platform).

PlayStation’s Deal of the Week is now live with the chosen title being of course Tekken 8, which brings down the price of both the base game and Ultimate Edition.

Currently the digital PlayStation 5 version of Tekken 8 is marked down 30% to $49 USD while the Ultimate Edition, containing the game, Year 1 Character Pass, avatar and character costumes, is brought down 20% to $88 instead of $110.

Unfortunately, these deals don’t appear to have caught on over at Steam or Xbox, but if you’re open to a third-party site, it looks like Gamesplanet currently has Steam keys of Tekken 8 going for $59.49.

This comes shortly after both Mortal Kombat 1 and Street Fighter 6 received their deepest discounts to date though Tekken 8 is still quite a bit newer than those games.

It’s also going down as Tekken 8’s user reviews on Steam teetered down from “Mixed” all the way to to “Mostly Negative” after having a pretty tough month that’s left quite a few players less than thrilled.

The PlayStation discounts on Tekken are set to last through next Wednesday, May 1, at 11:59 p.m. PDT. It applies on the United States version of the PlayStation Store, so availability and pricing in other regions may vary.
